The Unstoppable Rise Of Hisense (The Antithesis To TCL)

  • Over the past 10 years, TCL has taken the world by storm with their massive 100-inch+ TVs at mind-bendingly low prices. But, there’s another player that has also eaten up a bunch of TV market share from the shadows and that’s none other than Hisense. Hisense and TCL are both Chinese TV giants but the road to the top was completely different for either company. Hisense has been in the TV industry since the early 1970s. In fact, they were forced to make TVs and learn Western manufacturing methods by the Chinese government. This naturally gave them a headstart within the Chinese market but it took them decades to actually be competitive within western markets. This video explains Hisense’s long journey to the top and whether the shadow giant can eventually displace TCL as the new TV king.

I only buy hisense, I bought one couple years ago when i first moved out on my own and got my first apartment, and after a couple months, a storm came through a messed the TV up. I called hoping they'd help, but I figured they wouldn't. Initially they said they couldnt but after explaining the situation i was in to the rep, to my surprise, he told me to send it in (they gave me a shipping label), and they'll replace it.
Pretty sure it was the reps call whether they'd warranty it or not but due to him helping me in a tough spot, every tv I bought after is a hisense.
P.s. the replacement tv lasted 7 years before I sold it (I was still working fine) because I was moving and couldn't take it with me

Yeah u have not seen their U8K U7K UX have u. They are NOT cheap. A dude bought 65” U7K for $1800 aft tax. Lol its not even flagship . Their LEDS CRUSH SONY FLAGSHIP LED 5 yr in a row. So SONY ppl HATE Hisense to Guts. Like my family think SONY leds are inferior for years. N if u see WOLED Global major price dunk…because the Hisense n TCL flaghsip LEDS so premium. That their image surpassing OLED . OLED have MAJOR discount for the first time last 8 yrs. N they are not selling too good in North America, especially the WOLED.

@@ivofernandes88 hey Hisense --Google panel/ ULED/Mini LED has been quietly surpassing WOLED for year tho. I had $5000 LED 60” made in Japan before . Thoes HIsense flagship LED 65” look like $3000 visual. My 65” U8G Makes my $1100 Ipad pro-with M2 Chip lok like $280 cheap low end Samsung tablet. Its so strange.
Most ppl have OLED they are comparing with SONY flagship LED. Which ppl do NOT konw SONY LED are infeiro for DECADE . SONY LED started by 100% mass order their LED from SHARP TV. Hisense bought SHARP tv hold SHARP pattern SONY cant touch. SONY makes their own infeior LED which GAVE LED bad name since SHARP exited premium Market. So since SONY’s LED use diff technology”baklight is BlUE” then blend with RED n GREEN. Their color is ugly RGB Pestle n artificial n low contrast. Ppl assume other brands are like that.
HIsense U8H, U8K, now U8N , TCL Qm8 has Color VOLUEM matching - QD OLED Samsung S95B. THAT is Significant.
Hisense UX has color volume match SONY Flagship QD-OLED A95L. But significantly brighter n less pestle than A95L.
WOLED like LG CX C1 C2 C3 A80L A90J A90K etc. they are EXTREMELY low in color volume, Dim, pestle. They just NOT good for over all watching since LED has been quietly surpassing them.

Hey dude u mean WOLED right? Dude seriously u gonna check out U8K U8N U9N. They Significanly surpass WOLED. EVEN 2024 LG G4 is only 8.3/10 COLOR Density/volume.
Once black is black Enough its the highlight + n COLOR CONCENTRATION creats 3D, not the Black black black. In fact if u n I are out spring summer day, all the things we see are MOSTLY NOT black but grey. 🌺🥬🔥🌹🍑 🪼most things like color volume makes it 3D not the Black bar. 🎇🏞️🌇🏙️🏖️🌋🏟️⛺️🏕️. even LG G1 G2 G3 G4 the bright colors are VERY thin n look tinty. 🧩🌸🌷🐬 or often too dim , flat. 🦕🦇🐊pestle.
yeah the TCL Qm8, Hisense U8K already match QD-OLED color Volume, but brighter n more vibrant . it look MORE 3D. :)

This is why people are greatly mistaken when they say, "Oh, all TVs basically come out of five or six primary global factories so they are really all the same." No, they aren't. All the LEDs even reach into 2012 were SHARP TV but putting on LG SONY Samsung Logos.
Hisense bought Hisense in 2015 n still has most of Sharp patterns. If u get a SHARP LED SONY LED today u might see their Panels look worse after that. Their Own LED technology was not the same. Especially SONY has significantly inferior pestel color on EVERYTHING cuz their own LED use Phosphors blue light as Main light . The Hisense TCL Rokus are their cheap low end. Their GOOGLE/android Panel has Crushing LG SONY leds for 5 years. That LG completely GAVE UP producing better LEDS, they only re launched the same model the previous year the year before. Because their TVs couldnt compete.

@@michaelbeckerman7532 that’s fair, I just don’t thinks it’s that simple. TCL and Hisense have changed dramatically over just the last 5 years. Going back 20 years isn’t helpful. Budget tvs have always had cheap parts hence worse reliability. They also sell the majority of the cheap tvs along with Samsung who also sells bad budget tvs. Sony is selling more premium expensive tvs. They have very little market in the budget range. I have Sony tvs because I don’t trust these brands fully yet either but we would be silly to say they aren’t catching up to the big players quickly. Their premium models are much more competitive and definitely becoming more reliable.

DO NOT buy cheap electronics. If they aren't made properly (or are just cheap and have cut corners), they can literally catch fire and burn your house down. Not worth it to save $50 on a TV. Buy from a reputable brand. This is especially true of power supplies, including internal power supplies for your PC, or devices that have built in power supplies like TVs. Even cheap phone chargers (the wall warts, not the cords) are power supplies and can be dangerous. Avoid no-name knockoff brands from Amazon and even be wary of buying name-brand stuff from third party sellers and no-name websites because there ARE counterfeits out there that say they're a name brand product and even have the logo on it but they're counterfeit.
