- Hello, friends! Have you ever tried tender beef dim sum with the addition of chayote? If not, let's try this special recipe from Teteh today! Chayote provides a tender texture to the dim sum, but if you don't have it, you can replace it with jicama or bamboo shoots. Remember, after grating the chayote, don't forget to squeeze out the excess liquid! 🤗
For the wrappers, this time Teteh is using gyoza wrappers. However, you can also use boiled dumpling wrappers. Avoid fried dumpling wrappers, as they can turn out to be tough.
Dim Sum Ingredients:
Beef (special cut): 500 grams
Chayote (grated and squeezed): 100 grams (alternatives: jicama or bamboo shoots)
Carrots (grated): 75 grams
Green onions (thinly sliced): 2 stalks
Garlic: 2 cloves
Egg whites: 2 pieces
Salt: 1/2 tsp
Chicken bouillon powder: 1/2 tsp
White pepper powder: 1 tsp
Fish sauce: 1 tbsp
Oyster sauce: 2 tbsp
Sesame oil: 2 tsp
Tapioca starch: 2 tbsp
Dumpling wrappers as needed (choose boiled dumpling wrappers or make your own)
Topping:
Grated carrots
With this recipe, you can make approximately 20 dim sum pieces, each weighing 45-50 grams. Perfect for snacking or a special family meal!
