***** that was my opinion too.
I guess the video says that depression isn't just a thing you can wipe away with one good experiance (for example; a good day with friends, hearing nice words etc.). that you have to go through many stades, that you need to fight a long time to overcome depression...

On a boat of lonliness, surrounded by a sea of grief.
To find land, would bring me light.
For you are the land within my sight.
Don't leave me, eaten, to the night.
I musn't fall below the sea, please give me some relief.
I will find the might, to continue on and fight.
To be with you is my right.
My land and light, my saviour from the sea.
And if I do not continue on,
The journey will never be complete.

In Hebrew, the word tzaddik means a holy/good person. So I think this is trying to convey the struggles of trying to be a good person. The though that there is some ultimate reward at the end of the suffering is what keeps him going just so he can experience a moment of peace and true happiness, but then the struggle begins again.

    • @Hunbatz_5
      @Hunbatz_5 9 років тому +1

+Missy Rabbit Although the roots of the video ar Kabbalistic, there is some conceptual resemblance between the term Nirvana in Buddhism and the one intended in Kabbalah (but there are a lot of methodological differences) I think the point searched by all is the same though and beyond any words. If with the word Nirvana you mean the ultimate reality beyond dualistic and conditionated phenomena, the sesation of suffering and egotistic desires, a way to love beyond ourselves, i think you are right

I was a little confused until the end. Now I get it, life will send you a comforting darkness that makes you feel safe at first, but is actually holding you back from your true potential. Only after facing his problem head on was he able to move to the next level of life. Of course life will never stop throwing tempting situations at us, where we'll feel like just sitting there & saying "oh this is fine, I'm fine" but the truth is our comfort zones, or bad habits, or dark lonely nights will do anything to keep us trapped in their clutches until me make the conscious decision to fight our way out of it. I really like this short film. Could use more like it.

I don`t know if you notice but the word "tzadik" is in Hebrew (The original language of the Bible) and in the beginning of the film ther was this word "צדיק" . I guess that I am trying to say that there is also dipper \another mining to this film my writing in English is not to good then I will short up and only say that if you want to understand this film better then check up in Wikipedia the entries of tzadik and rebbe ,I think that it will change your understand and will make it dipper.

Tzadik is related to the Hebrew word for righteousness. Tzadiks are like saints. No matter how much we grow towards God, we will always face the same doubts, and sins. The trick is to always continue the upward climb.

the last part in the end gave me sudden understanding of what that guy is going through. it reminds me too much of someone i want to be happy, and i want to give her a big hug and tell her "remember but don't look back, 'cause i will be right there beside you."

  • @Tygerflameprodutions

This just made me cry because I can understand that feeling. Everything they did in this short they did right for me and what it feels like to have depression. Thinking that what's holding you back is your friend, and then seeing a light and wanting to get out, only to see the other part of you so attached that you can't bear to leave. It could also work for abusive relationships, but at the end it shows that depression is an everlasting battle with so many layers. And sometimes you never get out. It even shows with the trees that you can't just move on as soon as it happens, you have to wait for that tree to bloom before you can move on.

    • @judioregan4210

So true. I see my depression as a pit that only I can help myself climb out of, and it is made of many levels of determination, feelings of abject failure and worthlessness, then self-worth. Levels that have to not only be overcome but also recognised for what they are, emotional millstones around my neck or milestones of personal achievement. Only at the top of the pit will I find hope, peace and clarity.

Lost and alone on a lonely ship,
To feel the pain like heart gone skip.
Yet hope that flares the sacred tree,
That cross the waves and monster's spree.
Darkness holds for each and one,
That leaves a husk before to none.
And once that grasp the heavenly light,
Shall bring anew the grim of the night.

i like to think its a spiritual quest, the tree is the "tree of knowledge" "truth", and the dark shape is the evil spirit trying to hold us back because he is only strong when we sin dont do the will of creator, but we have to struggle every day to hold on to faith and stay motivated to be holy and do his will, but the evil spirit wants us to sin so he plays our friend " dont worry your a good person etc its ok, but when we want to change our behaviors its a battle every day.this is very well captured in this short.

I felt like it had to do with consumerism and technology. Although we find comfort in it, we are alone when we use it. We might go and find beauty in nature some time, to which we might have to separate ourselves from it (and it might be difficult doing so), we will find joy in this short trip in nature. But we always return back to the comfort in our screens

This is an beautiful short film. Being an 3d animator myself I can tell you that its is all about how well you can suck the viewer into the story. This is true story telling at its best. If this was not made to show the true conflict of man vs himself i don't know what will. This shows the struggle for those of us who deal with depression. For all of you guys who have never had to fight depression, that's what its like in our heads. I can only speak for myself when i say that this hit a bit close to home. Keep up the great work.

Depression is really like this. I feel empty, lonely and I’ve given up, but then I find hope, and I want to fight to get better. But in the end, when I used all I had, I think I’ve gotten to a better place but nope, there’s depression again, it never left. It just hid for long enough for me to think everything was going to be okay. And it repeats over and over and over

the film is about how we fight to overcome our deepest fears, to reach the tree of knowledge, or happiness, however, life is a war, encompasses many battles, it is like Sisyphus rock, it is all about the moment, it is all about the victory. Sooner or later, the time will conquer us! hushes to Lethargy.

Kaballah speaks of 7 levels of shamayim - heaven - with the seventh level being the highest that can be attained, and only by a true tzadik. The last scene appears to depict the highest six levels (it's cut off at the lower right). This tzadik has to repeat his life again, continuing to reach for the highest level of shamayim, by completely overcoming his evil inclination - yetzer hara - the ill-defined shadowy figure he shares the boat - an allegory for life - with as a part of him, as his life is spent trying to overcome the yetzer hara by turning to the light, and following his good inclination - yetzer ha'tov. That's how I fit it in with what I know, at least...

"Tzadik" is hebrew for "righteous"', and Judaism teaches us that the mark of a true righteous person is that he can help a person rise up above what he (or she) thinks is possible! (the tree) but in the end, if he doesn't start to walk on his own, he will find himself back where he started.

I know that many have seen psychological processes (depression, etc). However, I don't think it's about that. From the vision of the kabbalah the movie is perfect. The human being clings to his darkness and must face it to reach the Tree of Life. There is no possibility of resignation, only the brave confrontation. But this cycle is eternal, it begins again, but on a higher, purer level. Because the path to enlightenment is not about getting to a place, but about a constant journey.

The name of a short animation here is "Tzadik". Hebrew word which means (roughly) is: Righteous, Pious.
Tzaddik is not only those who have not done all his life offenses
But who continues to try despite everything (in fact, no Jewish faith fearless man who throughout his life).Faith says that you get through everything you need to repair this world. On the other hand, you must not give up hope and stop trying to fix everything! There is another belief; The more a person overcomes the desire to do evil, so he grew up. This is what is described here nicely; After the success of the rise, you come to the next level and see you again in the same place, but in fact you up a little bit closer. In fact Judaism Such a person is called a "hero" ["Who is a hero? He who conquers his desires (evil)] is contrary to the general perception of heroes. We call the people who made a one-time payment of" heroic "than" heroic. "Judaism think my name He did not stop trying real hero! Excuse me, but that video is so "Jew" [A big thanks to those who created it about that !!!].

and with the beast your set afloat.
the darkness shrouds and lingers and stays,
and clings onto you for days and days.
and when at last you see a glimpse of light,
the beast, it comes and keeps the light out of sight.
you try to fight and only fail,
and then you think it's time to once again sail,
    you turn and run again.
through the shadow beasts soul, and then.
you see the light up ahead.
you go toward it, and step into it and you're back with the beast.
and sail on like it said.

+The CGBros I'm looking for a particular animation. It's very surreal looking, kind of an aquatic theme to it. The main character is this little doll like creature with long ears that seems to be made of fabric. He sees whales flying around that are made of (what looks like) fabric and smooth stainless metal. He has a feather that he lets go and it is pulled along with a pack of sting rays. He is later then attacked by what looks like a large electric eel. This animation is accompanied by some really beautiful music. If you know of the one I'm talking about please tell me the name, you'd be a hug help, thank you!

No. I feel even more depressed after watching this. Please redo the ending or let there be a part 2 with a victorious ending. I have enough depression in my life, I don’t need it in my UA-cam choices too!

U can't go into the light, until acknowledging and embracing your dark side, you drag it along with u to be transformed by the light of consciousness. Else all those pent up issues will haunt you through every stage of your life saying 'don't go, stay here with me, I'm scared, it's hot out there'
Sounds korny.. but that's what I think it means. .

As tzadik he's struggling up the levels guided up by "splendid radiance." Some reference to the Holy Sephiroth and the Zohar, apparently.

I would analyze it but it's already been analyzed, this is an infinity battle until you truly reach up and out, but the sea of depression only gets harder and tougher and it seems like you'll
Never get their but there is a finish line, and hope
