Very very good engine and I’ve overhauled a lot of them I called them the school bus engine and still have 4 in back of shop that we’re running when I install new ones
Are you interested in selling any of them? I have a 1971 loadstar bus that was my grandfathers that he turned into a rv and the motor in it might be toast, hasn’t been started in over 10 years and was running rough last time it was running. I have no clue what was wrong with it as I was a child at the time, please get back with me if we can private message or something that would be great thank you
What year is that? My 67 and 68 had pistons that were humped on one side and dished on the other.. they stuck up above the surface of the block if im not mistaken.. That engine would thump along in 4th gear idling at about 50 rpm going down the trail at about 5 mph. Not sure why every 345 on UA-cam has flat pistons.. Not sure what they do for compression or flow...
It’s a 72 assuming it’s the original engine. We did find out there’s two different heads that these take because these ones are cracked and beyond repair and they’re hard to find but we picked a solution to that (hopefully) a few weeks ago. Keep watching.

Good to keep things in order but I never did on these engines because they didn’t ware much
Make you some tee handles to remove heads might save a toe or foot
Takes only 5 minutes to weld it
