- Since 1953, THJHA has inspired young people to understand and appreciate their places in history, through study and action. Junior historians save forgotten cemeteries and buildings, bring local heroes overdue recognition, preserve veterans' memories, visit artisans, and trace their family trees. THJHA puts history into classrooms and takes students out of classrooms into history, with magazines and resources, contests, and a workshop-filled annual convention -- all free
