    My soon to be 65 year old brother had a bad case of Carpel Tunnel Syndrome from Carving. Ran out of R.Xs for Percocet, waited at a Drop In Clinic two days in a row,4 hrs each time. He called a so called friend that mistakenly gave him Fentanyl, he left 4 daughter's fatherless in April.I blame this on our Canadian Government that gives out free drugs to addict's then sell it to victim's. The Government took all smoking and vaping In all Senior's and Government Housing a year ago in Jan. Now we have multiple Senior's out in the elements on the road in Wheelchairs, Walker's, Cain,not even a shelter they took that away too.😢

      That's horrible. They should let older people vape and smoke in a designated area. I mean, seriously...they are elderly and should be able to enjoy whatever they want. I can see why it should be banned in their rooms/apartments, but there should be a designated place for them to smoke.

    A huge „Thank you“ to the Ebert family for sharing the story of their loved one, Jayson Ebert 🙏
    I personally think that the Law Enforcement Department in their small community did a great job by quickly realizing that they needed help for their investigations and another factor is important to me:
    That they did care about Jayson‘s death! It would have been way easier to say/act like „Oh well, another drug addict‘s death, case closed“. But they did care, and that‘s what I really appreciate.
    Of course the amount of time between his death and finally the outcome, his sentencing, must have felt endless, but the only thing which can be seen positively regarding Jayson‘s death is the fact that the dealer got the maximum sentence and Jayson got served justice.
    What I personally still do not understand at all is the fact that there are still people/families out there in the US who haven’t heard about the immense danger of Fentanyl and Fentanyl Poisoning! So many people sadly did have to die because of one pill and there are still people NOT be aware of this dangerous monster called Fentanyl?
    But this is the reason why Glen and his team is doing this job or task by making these videos, and @Glen you know I said this for at least twenty or thirty times and I will continue to do so:
    Thank you for all the work, feelings and thoughts you put into making these highly important and valuable videos about the danker of Fentanyl Poisoning!
    And another „thing“ I do want to say out loud again: If I ever can help you with anything, please let me know!
    Again, Thx to the Ebert family and Glen and his team for this episode, I wish y‘all all the best from a very very small town in Bavaria/Germany 🇩🇪, Philipp

      But one thing is definitely for sure: If I ever will fly with my wife and our two sons to Texas, I‘ll definitely will give you a call and we meet in person! 👍

      @@TexasPictures Glen, I take your word and will happily do so, I promise! But that shouldn't sound like a threat 🥴😉
      Even my wife is keen to visit, see and feel Texas and that’s a little bit unusual cause she is in general very shy of speaking English at all. But, like she told me a few times by now, she will use me as an interpreter and I will happily do so 👍
      If I remember correctly we Germans (or people from Europe in general) are allowed to be in the US for 90 days with a normal tourist visa. And we often spoke about it and plan to be in the US for at least two months, so that we could have time to visit the States and enjoy it and that we won‘t have to rush. And our two sons are now old enough to remember such a trip and our older son is really enjoying the English lessons in school.
      As I said, I‘ll definitely reach out to you and will happily see „behind the curtain“ of Texas Pictures Documentaries 😉
      Have a good one Glen! 👋

    The mother seems to be tolerant of alcohol and marijuana. These are gateway drugs which lead to other things. The deceased still chose to use illegal pills. It is sad but the burden still lies on the user more than anyone else. Sadly he paid with his life. Why was he using when he had a 19 month old baby. He is being made to sound like an innocent hero/victim when in reality he chose to buy and take illegal drugs. And now his family and son will suffer for his choices. I feel bad that he died but stop presenting the addicts as innocent victims because they played a part in their demise.

    • @jessiebert696
      @jessiebert696 6 місяців тому +2

      I should just scroll past this ignorant comment, but you are talking about my brother. Someone I will protect until the day I die.
      Your leading sentence is interesting because it’s blatantly not true. My mother is not tolerant of alcohol or marijuana use. I’m not sure how you drew that conclusion when she didn’t speak on her personal beliefs.
      My brother IS a victim to fentanyl poisoning, like so many other young adults and kids. He chose to buy pills from a “friend”. However, that person knowingly gave him fentanyl which would end his life. That person knew the dangers. Jayson did not know fentanyl was in those pills, but the dealer did. The burden lies on the dealer. My brother is dead because of his greed.
      I’m glad you got the impression he is our hero, because he is. He truly is that. He also was not an addict- but based on your other assumptions, it doesn’t surprise me that you’d draw that conclusion with no backing evidence.
      I hope you never have to experience this. I’ll pray for you & your ability to educate yourself on this epidemic.

    • @SisterSunshineTV

      @5:30 The mother makes a reference to her son drinking and using marijuana and shrugs. Her shrug, tone, and way she says it makes it appear that this wasn’t something to raise a red flag. however, these are both gateway drugs that definitely start many people on the path to addiction. Our culture treats these substances as somehow less harmful than other illicit substances. Yet every single one of these videos begins with a person starting down the path of addiction with alcohol or marijuana.

    • @SisterSunshineTV
      @SisterSunshineTV 6 місяців тому +3

      @6:00 she says he “asked for percocet” but got fentanyl. But the video glosses over the reality that he was seeking drugs not prescribed to him. Getting them from someone who was not a doctor or pharmacist. Ultimately his own actions and decisions cost him his life. Is he solely to blame? No obviously his “friend” contributed, as did how many others along the supply chain.
      The message here needs to be zero tolerance. Using any form of drugs off the street is russian roulette.

Imagine what it would be like to see 1400 of these stories played before our eyes week after week after week. The magnitude of Fentanyl related deaths/murders is mindboggling. The husband of a friend of mine sells weed. His wife suggested I try it because she said it would help pain from rheumatoid arthritis. I had not been a user of weed in the past, but I thought it was harmless. He sold me a small amount. I tried to smoke it but kept coughing, so I had the idea of putting some in a 500 mg capsule that I had gotten for vitamin supplements. Not very long after that I was losing consciousness and laid down quickly in bed. It was early in the afternoon. I woke up almost 24 hours later. I told both of them what had happened. Her husband's reaction was, "It must have been good." Whatever happened to me, it wasn't weed that did it.

    • @Nan-59
      @Nan-59 6 місяців тому

      @@HeleneLouise You used way, way too much. It is much easier to overdose on marijuana if yoy use edibles.
      Here’s some information from GoodRx :
      What’s the difference between inhaling THC and eating an edible with THC in it?
      Inhaling THC means smoking, vaping, or otherwise breathing it in. An “edible” is something you can eat or swallow that has THC in it, such as a brownie, gummy, or capsule.
      Inhaled THC can kick in within minutes, and usually wears off after 2 to 3 hours. But edible THC can take anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours to kick in. In fact, it may take up to 4 hours for you to feel the full effects of some edibles. The effects of cannabis edibles also last longer - up to 12 hours.
      The reason for the time difference is due to how cannabis is absorbed. When you inhale it, the active ingredients are absorbed through the lungs directly into the bloodstream, then to the brain.
      When you eat cannabis, it has to go through your digestive system and get processed by the liver before it enters the bloodstream and reaches your brain, which takes longer.
      There’s also a difference in how you’ll feel based on how you consume cannabis. Even if an inhaled cannabis product and an edible cannabis product contain the same amount of THC, the edible can still cause a stronger high. That’s because when you eat or drink THC, your liver processes it and converts it into a molecule called 11-hydroxy THC. This form of THC is stronger and more intoxicating when it reaches your brain.
      An upside of edibles is that they don’t expose you to cannabis smoke or vapor, which may contain toxic chemicals that can harm your lungs. And inhaling cannabis may be more likely to lead to substance misuse because of how quickly THC enters the brain.
      We need to go low and slow when you are first using marijuana or anything for that matter. It’s too bad that you had such a bad experience because now you probably are afraid to try it and use it in a way that you should, which would be to use nothing near the amount you used.
      Some people get good pain relief from marijuana. I have been not too, but other people sure do.
      I go to pain management physician, and I am on morphine for my pain.
      I have also used Kratom for pain relief in the past. I inadvertently used too much and was laid out something similar to what you were from the marijuana. But I continued on with it. I just learned to take a little bit at a time.
      If I were you, I’d try it again, because if this is someone, you actually know, I would highly doubt they would spike your drug, especially if they grow with themselves .

I just wait daily for that call. He is so addicted to fentanyl now that rehab says we can’t detox you because we don’t know how to do that safely at this time. So he uses that as an excuse. This is the 1st time I'm saying this in a comment in my life; I would take a Percocet if it was in front of me right now. I don't need it, but I'd use it. I would definitely have a problem if I actively searched for it but I don't. Because of these videos. There's something about the effect of that pill that makes your life just elevate to a high that is so euphoric you don't want to not be under its grip. But yeah, I'm grateful for my choice not to take a chance with my ending in an instant. It's not a very popular thing in my area, the pills. But if it was in front of me I'd struggle for a minute definitely. I'm sorry for those lives lost. Their families.

    I am constantly posting on Facebook about fentanyl. I am constantly sharing these videos. It's amazing that I can get 300 birthday wishes but if I'm lucky one like or care when I post something about fentanyl. It is crazy because I know so many people including my stepson and niece and friends who have passed away from this just in Charleston South Carolina. I don't understand why this isn't being broadcast the way covid was. The only thing I can think is that the government, or part of it... is behind this. How is it that we were able to take out Osama bin Laden but we can't do anything with the cartels? How many people have to die? I think a big problem is the stigma and shame which SHOULD NOT EXIST.

    Another documentary put together so well! Special appreciations to Jason's sister. For such a young person to begin seeing beyond the loss of a brother is remarkable indeed. Yes, spreading the word to kids as young as 7 and eight will make a difference. I recall being made aware of aids at a very tender age. And that was all i pretty much ever knew into my youthful years. Activism in invaluable. Appreciate the mom for beginning the work in schools. It was sad to hear the mom think 'at first JUST-ONLY marijuana' The slide to hell began there. They say NIP IT AT THE BUD. And they gotta say it like that: raw. We can't let the sparks n bonfires get big, n then sit n wonder later how the house burned down. We can stop this early. Lotsa love to all. Stories of fellow humans are always fascinating! i went to school with jessi, jayson, and justin. played ball with jessi, had a couple classes with jayson and justin. everyone in high school knew about justin and jayson. they left a positive mark. every interaction i remember having with jayson was always nice and positive. i remember the shock of finding out about jayson passing away. i wasn’t close with them by any means, but i was still stunned. he was just a grade above me in school. in a small town like ours, i was well aware that a lot of high school kids had access to weed and smoked it; there’s not a lot to do around there and kids like to rebel. but i never associated jayson with it. i never would have seen this happening to him, let alone anyone in our town.
    when you’re our age and living in a small town like ours, you never think it’s going to happen to you. you associate overdoses with big cities, bigger than anything that’s close to us. you don’t think it’s even a possibility, but it is.
    i wasn’t close to jayson, we ran in different circles and didn’t have a lot of classes together. but i think about him every so often and wish he was still here. i know what i feel must be so minuscule to their pain. sending my love to the ebert’s. just know he’s looking out for his little boy.
