Your comment about period pain reminded me that my cramps lessened a ton once I realized caffeine made them much worse. Now the first couple days of my cycle, I don't drink coffee, and it's helped me avoid the worst of it. Just wanted to share in case someone out there finds it helpful! Thanks for sharing your journey with us.
Extra note chocolate has caffeine small amounts but yea
Similar for me. I quit drinking coffee and this was unexpected, no more pains. 🎉🎉🎉
Its the same for me!!!! 😮
But i don‘t drink coffee at all since some time..only decaf
Reduced headaches and period pain
This is so wild because caffeine seems to help with my pain. As does Midol, which contains caffeine. Being a woman is hard 😅
Your moment of “I just feel off and someone just peed their pants…SIGH…I guess laundry has to wait…” was something I felt so down deep in my soul. Thank you for showing that because those are the moments in motherhood that I end up feeling so guilty about
As a 28-year-old mother to 3 that was recently diagnosed with a chronic illness I appriciate that you shared that with us. I feel like there's not a lot of women in this space that discuss chronic illness. Thank you for letting me be feel seen❤
As a mom who suffers from migraines, I can relate, Sarah. Struggling with debilitating pain is never easy. Listening to your body when it tells you to take a break and rest is one of the most important things you can do for your self. Thank you so much about putting our a video about self care like this. So many of us struggle with issues like these, and you gave a voice to it. Hoping you feel better soon.
Migraines here too since I was 8.
Look into magnesium if you haven’t already. Since taking 500mg a day I now don’t have migraines like I used to 🤯 🙏
Sarah, I am much older than you but you continue to guide me in many things. The way you talk about your pain moments and still get up every day and take care of the needs of your family! You are a warrior!!! Be very proud of the person/woman you are-keep up the great videos!!!
I’m a mom of 2 small children (a toddler and a newborn) and I’ve been dealing with chronic dizziness for over a year now. It’s gotten worse in pregnancy and postpartum.. and boy does it make home making/ mothering a lot harder. Challenging as it is, I’ve found that God has given me strength and hope in the midst of it . His grave truly is made perfect in our weakness and He’s so faithful. Hang in there all of you dealing with pain and chronic illnesses -God can use it all for good !
My husband is an acupuncturist and has had some parients with chronic vertigo. Not sure if you have ever tried this, but it could help ❤
Your children are so blessed to have a happy present momma and homemaker through your suffering.
May the Lord bless you and keep you through all your days 🙏
What a sweet blessing your cozy candle-lit family dinners are! I’m so looking forward to those precious moments, I’m 9 weeks pregnant with my first! 🤍
I'm also named Samantha and have a 19 month old and a 6 month old so far!
Congratulations!! 🎊❤
This came at a great time. I've been suffering from a broken foot and a disc herniation for six months now, as well as postpartum hip issues. Being a mom in pain is so hard and exhausting! The solidarity here really makes me feel encouraged ❤️
I have a toddler running around and I’m pregnant with my second, and I’m going THROUGH it. This video could not have come at a better time. Thank you for sharing!
Same here! I don't know how I'm going to manage 2 ❤
This came at a great time. Mine right now is mothering during grief and loss of a loved one. Thank you for being open!!
This time last year I was grieving the loss of my mother while anticipating the arrival of baby #2. Grief is so personal & intrusive on life but so natural and necessary. I pray you find the comfort & connection you need this season. ❤️
Sarah, I highly recommend the Epley Maneuver for your vertigo. I also suffer from vertigo on occasion and discovering this movement has been a lifesaver. Kieran can help you do it at home on the couch or bed. Hope this helps!
I would love to hear about how you maintain your calm and collected demeanor with 5 young kids? It's amazing and inspiring that you manage everything with so much grace and composure - homeschooling, cooking, keeping the house clean, as well as taking time for yourself to rest and workout. Give us all your tips and tricks please 😊🤍
Yes please please please 🥺
I have experienced a lot of vertigo due to my chronic neck misalignment. It’s not as bad now but it used to make life so hard. It’s so debilitating. Solidarity ❤
Oh girl, I feel you! I struggle with vestibular trouble ever since what I call "The Great Sneeze of 2020". I sneezed, got vertigo, the rest is history. The Osteopath and a very particular adjustment of the atlas have put me back in balance. And my problems escalates around ovulation, too! Our bodies are fearfully and wonderfully made. It's all so intricately intertwined. Hope you have a wonderful, balanced day today.
Your videos are so healing to the soul, thank you 🙏🏼
It’s so hard when you have a village to help (as I don’t) which can really make me sad but remembering grace, hope and joy is going to help me find peace through my pain 🫶🏼🧡
This video is exactly what I needed to hear this week while dealing with extreme joint pain from pregnancy! Thank you!!
I’m literally curling up on the couch with a tummy ache because I ate foods that haven’t eaten for six months due to having emergency intestinal surgery.
Poppy seeds, berries with seeds, and nuts in salad. Regret.
But made sure my boy got his dinner and cuddles ❤
Thank you so much for speaking about vertigo! I already found you and I very similar and now this health issue also makes us twinsies!!! I had the worst vertigo of my life just a few months back when I was in the beginning of my second tri and omg mothering was the toughest it's ever been during that phase. It lasted like a month. Praying you feel better soon. I would never wish vertigo on anyone to the extent I had it a few months back
Omg. Ty for protecting ur kids. Thankyouthankyouthankyou!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sarah, there are some mugs out there that come with a little charging pad. Maybe you could get one for the kitchen and your coffee would stay warm, without having to use the microwave.
Ovulation pain can be linked to histamine intolerance, you can look into it. Whenever I eat too much vinegar and fermented foods, my ovulation is terrible, which is such a pity because I liked everything pickled... But I did notice a difference when I stop- vinegar and fermented foods are full of histamine :(
Sarah you are so inspiring! As someone who is watching your video in pain and dealing with vertigo I am stunned by what you can accomplish all while caring for five kids. Thank you for sharing!!
my friend went to a physiotherapist for vertigo
There are exercises you can do that can reset the little calcium ball in your in your ear, which is what causes vertigo. You can also go to physiotherapy if it gets worse.
Love your background music, love your hair, love your personality, love your videos ❤
Love when mamas talk about health issues. I have 4 and 2 year old and it can be so hard doing it alone. We have no family in town and both my husband and I have health issues. I have fibromyalgia mcs cfs ddd osteoarthritis scoliosis and other ailments along with those things and some days... I just want to rest. 😅😭 my oldest is also autistic/adhd and younger might be. I get the migraines with the cycles too. 😢my husband gets chronic migraines
I have had vertigo like that all my life as well! Epley maneuver is the way to go, though it might suck while you do it lol. In the US physical therapists are qualified to help you with it as well (don’t know about Canada)! Hope that helps.
Thanks so much for this video this pregnancy has been harder for me and feeling behind can be discouraging ❤
Praying for you, Sarah! This sounds like such a challenging season ❤
Grace, hope, joy 🙌🏾
I love the idea of grave, hope, and joy. Wise advice.
I suffer from back and hip pain, l3-s1 herniation. Chronic migraines, I'm anemic, and I'm pre-diabetic. I'm working on diet and walking more to lose weight and that'll help me with most of my problems. I have 4 children and a wonderful husband that helps a lot. I've lost 30lbs in 4 months, we all deserve more than what these illnesses allow. My kids deserve more from me, and I want so bad to give a fun and active life to them.
I'm so sorry you're going through all that.😢
@FancieRay i appreciate that, i am just trying to be stronger because that's what we and our families deserve ❤️
This is very relatable. I struggle with anemia and chronic pain. I really need to lose weight and I don't know where to start because I have tried so many diets over the last several years. That's amazing that you have lost thirty pounds, what a great start!
@ashleyjones6888 thank you! I have pcos too and I tried a variation of carnivore and keto ( 100% grass fed and finished beef products, eggs, and any and all fermented veggies and black coffee in the a.m and sourced olive oil from Italy. That's all I allow myself to eat and I tend to only feel the need to eat 1-2 times a day from all the protein and fats I'm getting also if you get a bad sweet tooth try berries with honey or a healthy smoothie that has protein. I also walk around the block and do stretches and exercises that are seated because of my back. Start small and then add on if you can or want, but consistency is key for sure! You can do this! 👍💪
@ElizabethAnn97 I'm not surprised at all that you are using a meat based diet to get better. It has helped so many people! I need to try it again. It's pretty difficult at first but I know that it's necessary. Keep up the good work! Hopefully in a few months I'll be able to see such progress as well.
Thank you, that was a really good video Sarah. God bless.
Do you know the Epley maneuver? It really works and you can do it yourself or have your husband do it for you. Dehydration can be a cause. Make sure you are getting electrolytes. The running may be increasing sweating which may be making you more dehydrated.
Hi Sarah
Fellow homeschooling mother of 4 from London, UK. I've also suffered from vertigo for the last 10+ years. I find acupuncture helps, but my body will always revert to this state when I'm feeling depleted. In Chinese medicine it is linked to whatever is going on hormonally so exacerbated by those fluctuations specifically menstruation and post partum - i have found this to be true. Try the acupuncture. Also yes there is a genetic factor, my mother also suffers from vertigo!
Since I was diagnosed with MS I have been getting vertigo. I feel for you soooo much. Once I had it for 3 months straight. Gross.
Look up the Epply maneuver. It helped me when I had vertigo.
Me too I had often vertigo when I was younger and it was when I had very very low tension and very low iron. When I started to have a normal tension and improved my iron, vertigo disappeared.
Me too I suffer much worse during ovulation than the period time!
Do you know sometimes when I see Kiran appear briefly I miss hearing him speak. 😂
You were so funny together. 😊
Hi Sarah Therese! I've been enjoying your videos a lot - thanks!! About the vertigo, you could try to get checked for "benign paroxysmal positional vertigo". My brother is a neurologist and he has helped many people suffering from this type of vertigo with just a few sessions of very simple techniques. All the best to you and your family!
I've been experiencing a lot of pain at the start of the period. But once I started doing upa yoga (isha) it's been gone ever since. It's on youtube, you can search, simple practice
I love your haircut!
Ashwaganda and lemon balm by wild and organic is the only thing that got rid of my vertigo.
I deal a lot with vertigo! Recently started seeing a doctor that practices osteopathic manipulation and it has helped SO much
“60 local eggs that’ll last us maybe a week” I feel this, we go through a dozen everyday as a family of four rn and my youngest isn’t even eating a whole egg yet 😅😅😂 84 eggs a week later 😅😅😅 looking forward to getting chickens someday
This is just what I needed. Painful week. My wisdom teeth are doing a number on me.
❤my Minestrone Recipe for your family
Minestrone
Brown:
1 to 2 pounds breakfast sausage
2 Tbsp oil
Note: If using sausage links, cut into bite sized pieces with scissors before browning. I like Jimmy Dean sausage when I don't have links. Both taste equally good.
Add:
1 onion, diced
4 celery stalks, diced
Sauté until unions are translucent.
Add:
4 garlic cloves, minced
2 teaspoons dry Italian seasoning, NOT powdered
1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
Sauté for 2 minutes.
Purée:
2 lb of grape tomatoes
Then add to soup.
Note: I like the grape tomatoes from Costco. Any tomato will do, but grape tomatoes provide the best flavor.
Stir in:
6 to 8 cups water (approx)
1 Tbsp salt
15 oz white beans, drained
15 oz can garbanzo beans, drain
3 cups cabbage, diced
1 chicken breast
Bring to a boil. Cover. Reduce heat, and simmer 45 min.
Add:
1 to 2 bunches Bunch Swiss chard, diced
Note: Mince or discard the stems.
Simmer 20 minutes. While simmering, remove chicken & cut into bite sized pieces. Just before serving, return chicken to the soup.
Note: If you like a meaty soup, up to four chicken breast halves can be used. Drumstick also work well, but make sure to find and remove all the bones before serving.
Serving options:
1. Plain
2. Over 1 pound pasta
-macaroni
-rotini
-penne
-mostaccioli
3. Over rice
Note: Cook pasta or rice in a separate pan according to package directions. Do NOT mix pasta or rice into soup when storing leftovers, or freezing. The pasta or rice will swell and turn to mush. Serve pasta or rice into soup bowl, then ladle soup over it.
4. Top with Parmesan.
5. Top with croutons
6. With bread sticks, garlic bread, or buns.
Note: Ladle cooled soup into sandwich sized baggies, and freeze for individual servings. Make fresh pasta, or rice, if desired.
Freezing a gallon sized bag of soup works well for a quick family meal too.
- You can adjust the red pepper flakes to adjust the heat.
~I hope you like it. I ❤LOVE ❤ YOUR VIDEOS.
I have vertigo too! See a chiropractor! They can fix it in one session rather than lasting for days!
Would love to know what your house shoes are, they look so comfortable.
A friend had debilitating vertigo for a whole year. He saw some sort of physical therapist who had him do a bunch of eye exercises and special glasses and now he no longer suffers and is a nurse! Just something to look into with a doctor.
Please look into Menieres disease. My mum got diagnosed with it around your age - not many people know what it is. She had vertigo attacks. She's past it now, but it was huge when us kids were little.
NUCCA chiropractic has helped my mom’s chronic vertigo SO much. We’ve tried everything.
But it looks like you’re doing the right thing here. Using either glass or cast iron to cook in, organic produce, gluten free items, proper supplements, grass fed grass finished meat, no bleach parchment paper no aluminum baking dishes…. It all matters especially when it comes to our health! I’m doing Ewa same thing this is why I believe I’m healthy 45 yo woman with no health problems praise God…..
Have you ever been checked for Chiari Malformation? I had an 18mm herniation but I had bouts of veritgo and motion sickness prior to fixing it (along with other symptoms).
Sarah what are the instructions on dehydration for blueberries in the oven? What temp and time do you do?
Can you please make a video about your vertigo and the ways you deal with it, some tips..I suffer from vertigo years but nothing seems to help..😢
I have Meiners Disease so I have daily vertigo. It varies in severity daily. I feel you.
Acupuncture will change your life! Try it!
I also have had vertigo and motion sickness since I was a child - caused by a condition called Meniere's Disease (it's a middle ear condition) I think it has some relation to me being very small and having small ear canals - I know you're also very small so I thought this might help :)
Sarah, I have chronic pain and can relate. Sending you lots of healing thoughts. Feel better Mama.
Unrelated, where do you buy your wall calendar? I’ve searched for it high and low and cannot find it. Could you pls share the brand name or a link?
Can you please share more about your experience with vertigo?
I started having really bad vertigo 1 1/2 years ago. Shortly after I had my son. Been really difficult and wondering what you do to help it
Acupuncture
Highly recommend
Migraine. Sucks with a little one. Mine are triggered by gluten and dehydration.. my husband and stepson have celiac so they have mostly disappeared
Keep doing that nice work
Sara hi! Just wondering if you've seen the most recent episode of Simple Farmhouse Life (Lisa's channel, you've been interviewed on it!) She talks about why she's switching to freshly milled whole-grain bread. I wonder if this would be helpful to you. I'm personally not interested in cooking with or eating white flour after watching this.
Hey Sarah! Nuts have *a lot* of anti-nutrients that you’re consuming in pretty significant quantity as a dairy replacement. This is probably really negatively affecting your health, and I imagine some your health symptoms are stemming from it.
How you stay so fit? I love your channel
I’ve never seen the stretch and throw folding method before 😂
Okay I totally love how long you're taking to make your bed and how even it is, but how are your children now running in the whole time and trying to jump on it, or sneak in the sheets while you're making the bed?!?!?!
Ugh. I have vertigo as well 😵 It's exhausting and scary.
Have you noticed the vertigo worsening with allergies or sinus pressure? That's what I believe is my trigger and it's soooo debilitating! Sorry Sarah!
I got so much vertigo as a child. I went to the nurse at school so much that she stopped believeing me. I still get it here and there. Im not totally sure but I suspect it had a lot to do with having a dog in the house as we later found out I was allergic.
I have had vertigo for 3 years now since I got covid 3 years ago.Its horrible.
Founding fathers and space buns 😂
It’s just tough to see how many women are suffering from all sorts of health problems in both US and Canada. It’s heartbreaking.
RFK. Make America Healthy Again 😊
She said nauseous burps and I was thinking "pregnant?"
No😢 poor sarah, this sucks
I’m older but ovulating was also painful for me. I knew women who didn’t even know when they were ovulating!!
By God's grace i believe that your vertigo symptoms are gone and they do not bother you anymore. You are healed in the mighty name of Jesus, Amen! ❤
It feels criminal to be this early 😂
I thought you said you had to shave your bagels (not shape them)😂
I have Rumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, and connective tissue disease.Im 74 years old and vertigo. So I know what youre talking about pain.
Sometimes, vertigo is just because you aren't eating enough? maybe try eating a little more :)
Vertigo is one of the side effects of the hpv vaccine. Two of my previously healthy girlfriends have developed it right after getting inject3d with this particular jab. It never left them unfortunately. Serious detox might help with a help of a good naturopath that knows what they do.
You chose founding fathers lol
Check your histamine levels! Might be high. Dr Ben Lynch has great information.
My vertigo is triggered by gluten. Maybe food is a trigger for you too?
I have a really random question out of curiosity: I know you and your family are Christians so I was wondering how you teach them history? do you explain the big bang or that god created earth? as I said, it's out of curiosity and I'm not trying to sound like I'm judging! :)
Sounds terribly like early pregnancy, 😊
Das Bett machen ist ja ein Akt und raubt Zeit....🤦♀️
The constant same jazz music is just too much 😩 sorry just an opinion!
I don’t have time to read through the comments or watch the entire video (also mom of many), but have you tried the Epley maneuver for vertigo? A quick Google search will give you all the instructions you need, and it’s very easy. I just fixed my friends vertigo using that the other day. Also, hydration is huge for vertigo. You may have known all of this already, but sharing just in case!
When I get vertigo around my cycle I have to take Meclizine for 2 days before. Ovulation it’s every man for themselves 💀🫡 mine is veeeeery painful
I am currently 11m pp with my second and want to have many more babies. I am dealing with some health problems as well, seizure and syncope episodes. 5 drs couldn’t tell me what was wrong. 1 naturopath, it took him less than 10min of listening to me talk and reading through bloodwork from the last 3 emergency room visits to tell me I am severely deficient in magnesium and my adrenals are working too hard. Mama, find yourself a naturopath or a functional dr, the things you describe are common but NOT normal 🙏🏽🤎
