Great information. Thank you. I have a WW2 era, Olive Drab web made production variant. I've had it for over 20 years, and it was NOS when it was purchased.

This is a great video. I have been waiting for information about the older slings for the last 30 years or so. Luckily, I still have some.

I never knew anything about this sling. I just picked up a Remington 03/A3 with this strap on it. Kaki canvases, brass with steel springs, no free floating loop. It looks the the rifle was made end of September first week of October, 1943. 40000000 SN. Original barrel. Looks like the rifle never saw service. Ogden Armory inventory stamp with no rebuild stamps. Looks like it was made and placed in storage. Now, 79 years later I have it. How this sling got on it, I have no idea. Thanks for the information.

Very nice collection of slings and very informative. That skinny sling, as yoi said could have been for a trainer 22 but who knows for sure. Sometimes there is no evidence for theory one way or the other. Good vid

I wonder if the small sling wasn't for the Reising 65?

Since making the video, I’ve found that the narrow strap was sold commercially on Winchester Model 57 rifles between the wars.
