I have the Samyang 24mm 1.8 II lens. It also has the button for infinity autofocus. It is great as it nails focus for my Milky Way shots. I emailed Samyang and asked if they would be putting that feature on a wider angle lens like a 14mm and they said stay tuned.
Great video! I have had my copy of the Samyang 135 1.8 for a good few months now. It has definitely been one of the best purchases I made this year. I did have to fine-tune the Astro mode a bit however as the stars just were not sharp in my shots. Getting a Bahtinov really helped with this. Like you, I do use a star tracker (Sky Watcher Star Adventurer) as well but I have definitely been enjoying using this lens for astrophotography. Paired with my a6400, it becomes a beast of a setup. Keep up the good work on the content!

I shot some nebula and Andromeda this week with this lens and it was the first time that I used it with the astro mode. Unfortunately, turning it on in astro mode did not produce in focus stars so I would still have to do a digital crop to adjust my focus at the beginning of the night. It produced some beautiful shots with only an hour of data so I'm still quite happy.
@Grey Goose, it's a very good lens, but there's a flaw with Astro Mode, mine will nail the right focus but will produce a "greenish colour" light leak when shooting above 3200 ISO. My copy was replaced but still got hat problem. I'll make another video it soon. All the best bro.
Hold down the focus button once you've gotten it into focus and it will set that as the new infinite focus point on the astro mode within its firmware.
I am owning Lens Sony 135mm F1.8 GM, I see it to produce sharpness photos. However, I do not have any opportunity to use other 135mm name-lens and compare with it!
I can’t afford the GM as of the moment and I’m pretty sure that it’s worth every penny. I’m just please with the results that I’m getting with the Samyang version and is good for travel as well as it isn’t that “heavy” compared to other telephoto primes. Thank you @McTRAN.

Hey @Can I heard a lot of good things with the manual version of this lens. I however didn’t get a chance to test it side-by-side yet. I can only attest that the new one has exceeded my expectations. If I find a used copy of the old one for sale, I’ll grab it and test it along with the AF version. All the best.
Thanks for the helpful video. I’m very curious about how you managed to use zoom lenses, as I tried with my Fuji 16-80 zoom lens and end up with a central ring artefact in the middle 1/3rd of the images. It wasn’t vignetting as there was no light fall off for the remaining 2/3rd of the image. I had put it down to design issues with zooms, but here in your video you are managing without issues. The odd thing is that the same ring artefact did not show up in any of the flats, so I’m still puzzling over the issues I am seeing.
Hey bro, have you tried other zoom lens? I reckon maybe it’s just that lens that you’re using? Do you use a UV filter? I tried different zoom lens amd didn’t had any issues at all.
@@OneRiley No, only tried one so far, and the results were not pretty. I'm in the northern Hemisphere at 55 degrees, so it's pretty difficult to test at the moment as we dont get astronomical darkness again until end of july. I actually had a problem with Astro Mode as the green/red light is leaking “light bleed” when shooting at ISO 3200 above, they replaced my lens but still have that problem. I aslonreached out to Samyang in Korea and they told me that the new Serial nos don’t have those issue. I’m still shooting astro but not in Astro Mode.

FYI, There's a recent firmware update that has to do with astro.

Thanks. Just tried it tonight and it didn't work out very well. Will update and try again. The focus was off for me.
