This is one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen. I hope I can visit Turkey someday to experience this space of meditative peace in person. The dance is "dancing" them. I have had this experience only a few precious times in my life - when your conscious awareness is devoid of volition and you see yourself dancing as if from the outside. A form of ecstatic dance movement that helps us transcend our "selves". It is humbling. There are examples of it in one form or another in most cultures throughout history. Sublime. So thankful I found this video.
The UA-cam channel is Arabic but the this sufism dance is Turkish. But for more information Sufisim philosophy start in Andalusia by Mohee aldeen bin Arabi , the Master philosopher and scholar of Islamic sufisim , but its flourished under the Turkish Selcuk empire . Yes you are right this style of dervish flourished in Turkey
@Criminal1channel totally agree with you, there is mention of 'hate' in my comment also, no clue where you got that feeling from. Perhaps from another person's comment and is getting channeled in this comment
The Mevlevi order, the "whirling dervishes", was founded in Turkey by followers of the Persian mystic, Rumi. It later spread to other parts of the Ottoman Empire, including Arabic-speaking regions. The most active group of dervishes, currently, is based in Istanbul, Turkey, and includes women. I'm not aware of any dervishes in Arabic countries, now, and, if there are any, I doubt that they have women members. Still, the music is hypnotic and relaxing. So, the title of the video doesn't entirely miss the mark.
To be able to do and experience that must be incredible. A lot of children have a natural inclination to move this way with arms more relaxed. I believe we have so much within at birth which needs recognition, allowance and where requested by the child, encouragement. Children and animals and fully interconnected ecosystems can guide us onto the path of our natural humanity and keep us on it .
Love ethnic music from all parts of the world, here you can clearly hear how Arabic music influenced Spanish Andalusian flamenco. Hearing also classical Indian music from time to time I believe there's an influence between Arabic music and Indian music, love to all world citizens who want to live in peace and respect towards each other ❤: Christians, Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, Jews and more,. Ukrainians and Russians, Palestinians and Israeli people, forget about all hatred we are here to love each other and respect each other. I find this music and dance relaxing even though, I'm not religious at all but find peace in beautiful, peaceful music. I find many types of music have a spiritual affect on my well being.
I am crestin ortodox ,but this dont stop me to apreciate what is really beautiful from every culture or religion .My God or Creator is yours too , or the other way around , we all have the same Creator , some of us try to approach the Creator though difrent methods .For ordox exist Isihasmul, which is a pray to God from the heart,i consider this form of dance a meditation form which can put you in trance get close to the Creator as others try to do same thing trought difrent forms of practices .Maybe we should all pray for peace and stop harming each other sometimes in the name of the Creator for simple reasons we are all one .Nowadays, science is pretty advanced, but still has no answers to many questions .Are there so many mysteres left behind by our ancestors and when since people from now days try to explain them ,they strat with scraching them heads . Gretings to all , we all should try to enjoy life and beautiful things around us as long we still have acces to them .
Was fortunate enough to attend a ceremony in a Caravanserai in Turkey. It is a spiritual experience with ritualized movements. One hand up to the heavens and the other down to the earth. It is not a dance but a transcendental experience to the dervishes. Incredible to be there
Even from a Christian view it is very beautiful. The resurrection of Issa (Christ) Himself moving in love for the Father, bringing love from Him with His right hand, and pass on to us with the left. With the tombstone on His head, still wearing His shroud, He dance the final triumph of love over death and tell us that nothing can defeat the love of Allah (God )
Myfave music. Years ago I visited an underground cave that was entered through a building in Cappadocia, Turkey. The atmospheric of the music and the dance was intoxicating and very peaceful. A memorable experience. ❤❤
Amazingly beautiful, hypnotic. I find myself thinking of, remembering things I have not done... sounds I've never heard and sights i've never seen. Not in this life... THANK YOU
There’s a small group of sufis in the San Fransisco area that I like. Anyone can dance, not just men. The dances vary but are loving and ebullient. I once watched a bunch of Arab men dance and the auditorium was filled with B.O. Bad B.O. it cleared the room. I can’t help thinking that it accidentally on purpose and they didn’t want anyone, particularly Americans, to be in anyway part of their experience.

My boss told once that i have exlectic tastes. Dunno much abt that, but i have cds for my car of music like this. Many are foreign. Man was created to worship. And all that worship was by choice to worship Him, God, back. Spirit filled christians do all the time. The key is holy spirit inspired. You may see people laughing, dancing, weeping, falling out on the floor, speaking in a heavenly language. Ive heard people speak in someones own tongue.
The Mevlevi Order or Mawlawiyya (Turkish: Mevlevilik or Mevleviyye; Persian: طریقت مولویه) is a Sufi order that originated in Konya (a city now in Turkey; formerly capital of the Anatolian Seljuk Sultanate) and which was founded by the followers of Jalaluddin Muhammad Balkhi Rumi, a 13th-century Persian poet, Sufi mystic, and Islamic theologian. The Mevlevis are also known as the "whirling dervishes" due to their famous practice of whirling as a form of dhikr (remembrance of God). Dervish is a common term for an initiate of the Sufi path; whirling is part of the formal sema ceremony and the participants are properly known as semazens. In 2008, UNESCO confirmed "The Mevlevi Sema Ceremony" as amongst the Masterpieces of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity. Approximately 750 years old, the Mevlevi Order is a living tradition based on the teachings of Rumi, also known as Mevlana, who is perhaps Turkey's most celebrated poet and in Iran, second only to Hafiz. He is also venerated as a divine mystic within Sufi Islam. Rumi's friend and spiritual mentor, Shams of Tabriz, is also revered within the order and within Sufism more widely.[4] Rumi said, "As long as I have life, I am the slave of the Quran. I am dust at the door of Muhammad the Chosen", and the Mevlevi path is based firmly on Islamic principles. Kabir Helminski, a Mevlevi shaikh, writes 'It is a rigorous path of initiation and service continually adapting itself to changing circumstances and times.... Mevlevis have always been progressive and liberal in spirit while at the same time conserving the best of tradition.' The Mevlevis insist that love is at the centre of Islam. Mevlevi shaikh Şefik Can writes, 'Rumi tells us to take the love of God to the forefront, to abstain from being attached to the letter of the law rather than the spirit of it, to find the essence of the faith, and to raise our faith from the level of imitation to the level of realization.' Origins of Sema According to a popular story, Rumi was first inspired to whirl when he heard the hammering of the goldsmiths in Konya's bazaar, however, Mevlevi historian Abdülbâki Gölpınarlı believed that Rumi must have learnt whirling from Shams of Tabriz. Şefik Can claimed that whirling was practiced among Sufis at least as early as Abu Sa’id Abu’l-Khayr (d. 1049). Though they have cultivated it to the highest degree, Mevlevis are not the only Sufis who practice whirling, and Kabir Helminski suggests primordial origins: "The practice of whirling may have its origins in the timeless shadows of Central Asian spirituality where shamans used it to induce altered states of consciousness." History Early expansion The order was established after Rumi's death in 1273 by his son Sultan Veled and Husameddin Chelebi (who inspired Rumi to write the Mathnavi).[4] Like his father, Sultan Veled is celebrated for his poetry. Lyrics he wrote are often sung during the sema ceremony itself,[12] and both he and Husameddin Chelebi are honoured within the order as accomplished Sufi mystics in their own right. It was they who had Rumi's mausoleum built in Konya, which to this day is a place of pilgrimage for many Muslims (and non-Muslims). A number of Rumi's successors, including both Sultan Veled and Husameddin Chelebi themselves, are also buried there. Their personal efforts to establish the order were continued by Sultan Veled's son Ulu Arif Chelebi. During the Ottoman period, the Mevlevi order spread into the Balkans, Syria, Lebanon, Egypt, and Palestine, especially in Jerusalem. The Bosnian writer Meša Selimović wrote the book The Dervish and Death about a Mevlevi dergah in Sarajevo. Eventually, there were as many as 114 Sufi lodges, the order becoming well established within the Ottoman Empire when Devlet Hatun, a descendant of Sultan Veled, married Bayezid I. Their son Mehmed I Çelebi became the next sultan, endowing the order, as did his successors, with many advantages. Many of the members of the order served in various official positions within the empire. Though the Sufi lodges were forced to close down, Mevlevi practice continues within Turkey but in a more restricted and private mode. Sufism is still officially illegal in Turkey, and sema ceremonies are therefore officially presented as cultural events of historical interest rather than as worship.

There is absolutely no good and convincing evidence that 'souls' exist... they are a part of ancient mythology. Can you demonstrate that souls exist?
This is not worshipping anything, this is reconnecting the heart to his divine source... Thank you..

The amount of strength required to keep your arms raised and balancing while twirling. 🧘♀️🙌🏻
God is love, so the way to connect to God is love. They are in love. This is one way to connect, they feel great. ❤❤❤❤❤
Arab? Whirling sufis are a Turkish phenomenon!
Hate is not healthy! Sufis were excited in abbasied times before Turks came to Anatolia
The UA-cam channel is Arabic but the this sufism dance is Turkish. But for more information
Sufisim philosophy start in Andalusia by Mohee aldeen bin Arabi , the Master philosopher and scholar of Islamic sufisim , but its flourished under the Turkish Selcuk empire . Yes you are right this style of dervish flourished in Turkey
@Criminal1channel totally agree with you, there is mention of 'hate' in my comment also, no clue where you got that feeling from. Perhaps from another person's comment and is getting channeled in this comment
These cultures need to be preserved ❤ we are blessed to be exposed to the sights and sounds…Thank You for posting.
It's Istanbul. I was in this place in same concert. It's amazing, like I'm back there again. Thank you❤❤❤

Yes, there is so much borrowing between cultures! It makes music an ever evolving amazing experience!
MUSIC is a UNIVERSAL language we all/ALL UNDERSTAND in our HEARTS
Thank you for the wonderful words, peace and love to every human kind of this planet ❤

This kind of music has always spoken to my soul! 💜
I love this j’aime la la quiero
Makes me think of Rumi and his writings. Wonderful works of expression.
Was fortunate enough to attend a ceremony in a Caravanserai in Turkey. It is a spiritual experience with ritualized movements. One hand up to the heavens and the other down to the earth. It is not a dance but a transcendental experience to the dervishes. Incredible to be there
Very soothing and relaxing melodies with a touch of mysterious mythological rhythm 👍❤👌..
Gracias, Gracias Namaste
I love this music! It's so hypnotic to me. The composer of this piece did a terrific job!
Very relaxing, soul touching and sensual 🥰
Closer to God.
This is the most complicated choreography I’ve ever seen. It beats out break dancing by a million miles ❤
Men in skirts twirling in one spot. Study some ballet. Now that's complex.
I really like the moves they did at the 35:00 point of the video.
Very beautiful music and relaxing ❤
Yes, so good to get things done. ❤
Am so happy to have found this collection! My soul is overjoyed ❤❤❤

Hello from Toronto Canada
Love this music
Even from a Christian view it is very beautiful. The resurrection of Issa (Christ) Himself moving in love for the Father, bringing love from Him with His right hand, and pass on to us with the left. With the tombstone on His head, still wearing His shroud, He dance the final triumph of love over death and tell us that nothing can defeat the love of Allah (God )
be here now do no harm help others be still close eyes listen to your breathing.
Myfave music. Years ago I visited an underground cave that was entered through a building in Cappadocia, Turkey. The atmospheric of the music and the dance was intoxicating and very peaceful. A memorable experience. ❤❤
Ho i brividi.
Amazingly beautiful, hypnotic. I find myself thinking of, remembering things I have not done... sounds I've never heard and sights i've never seen. Not in this life... THANK YOU
What peace in the heart of movement
Beautiful...
What is the B.O ?
@@freediver388 Body odor. Armpit smell.

Rumi's friend and spiritual mentor, Shams of Tabriz, is also revered within the order and within Sufism more widely.[4]
Rumi said, "As long as I have life, I am the slave of the Quran. I am dust at the door of Muhammad the Chosen", and the Mevlevi path is based firmly on Islamic principles. Kabir Helminski, a Mevlevi shaikh, writes 'It is a rigorous path of initiation and service continually adapting itself to changing circumstances and times.... Mevlevis have always been progressive and liberal in spirit while at the same time conserving the best of tradition.'
The Mevlevis insist that love is at the centre of Islam. Mevlevi shaikh Şefik Can writes, 'Rumi tells us to take the love of God to the forefront, to abstain from being attached to the letter of the law rather than the spirit of it, to find the essence of the faith, and to raise our faith from the level of imitation to the level of realization.'
Origins of Sema
According to a popular story, Rumi was first inspired to whirl when he heard the hammering of the goldsmiths in Konya's bazaar, however, Mevlevi historian Abdülbâki Gölpınarlı believed that Rumi must have learnt whirling from Shams of Tabriz. Şefik Can claimed that whirling was practiced among Sufis at least as early as Abu Sa’id Abu’l-Khayr (d. 1049). Though they have cultivated it to the highest degree, Mevlevis are not the only Sufis who practice whirling, and Kabir Helminski suggests primordial origins: "The practice of whirling may have its origins in the timeless shadows of Central Asian spirituality where shamans used it to induce altered states of consciousness."
History
Early expansion
The order was established after Rumi's death in 1273 by his son Sultan Veled and Husameddin Chelebi (who inspired Rumi to write the Mathnavi).[4] Like his father, Sultan Veled is celebrated for his poetry.
❤
