@@K7TZ i think there's a minigame that uses the ir camera which switch 2 doesn't seem to have. but i dont think they'll make it not compatible at all bc of one minigame

I'm excited only minor complaint I'd say is the color scheme. They went from vibrant red and blue controlers to now a all black console with a splash of color.
05:40 Yeah, i wouldn't hold my breath. A big reason for scarlet/violet performance issues is because the game itself is poorly optimized due to it being rushed out. A lot of the New pokemon games try to stay ahead of the anime and cards, which means corners are getting cut. To put in perspective, Scarlet and violet were developed in 2.5 years, and Sword/shield was made in 1 year. Compare that to heartgold/ soulsilver, which took 3.5 years, legends arceus which took 3 years as well as black and white which also took 3. The only way i see it being improved is if there is a massive performance update on the game itself. This probably won't happen because gamefreak is always working on the next thing, which in this case would be legends: ZA. I'd happily be wrong about all of this, but even if the new system runs it better, there will still be performance issues. Hopefully, pokemon and really most switch 1 games get performance updates, but I'm keeping my expectations low.
I'm expecting $400 to be the bear minimum they charge for it, especially with the upcoming tariffs potentially influencing their price point. The Oled model already costs $350 and this is a whole new system, so it does make sense to me. Still excited for it and can't wait to see more of the games.
I need to know more about the detailed specs first, but I'll be buying it no matter what. However I'll probably wait a few years for a price drop or a decent bundle.
As far as price goes, I've heard it might between $400 to $500 depending on after Trump takes office and the new tariffs that might go into effect from foreign goods or something like that.
All you've heard is talk and that's it. You people need to seriously understand when people are just talking. There is no rumor or leak, literally nothing about the price. People are just expecting the worst outcome so they can't be too shocked if the price do end up to be that much.
I bought the splatoon 3 oled when it came out. Then i finally got a ps5. So in order for me to get the switch 2 it has to play games comparable to my ps5. I just can't afford another system in this economy.
Keef, If you think pokémon is unplayable in its current state, it will not be that much better on the Switch 2. Every performance problem that game has can be blamed on bad programming on Gamefreak's part, especially with games like Metroid Prime Remastered running out of smooth 60 effpess?
I still think the slide was a better option for the joycons this feel like it might pull out while playing if you are playing something remotely stressful. It might not be but for the time being with just this video out without showing much I don't see the appeal.
Yeah. I agree. I literally had to drag myself to play Pokemon violet. Such terrible performance. If it wasn't for that, I would be playing it right now
Not a fan of the all black joy cons, feel like they have stripped off the personality of the Switch and make it look the same as the SteamDeck and ROG Ally and all that.

@@boycottactivisionI doubt this will go above $350, Nintendo’s whole thing is about affordability. And there’s a lot of third party titles on Switch, all of which are gonna be playable on Switch 2. And with the extra power, hopefully we get even more.
The unsupported Switch games are probably 1 2 Switch, Labo, and Ringfit.
Yea because the joycon or the switch won't fit now, same thing happened with the oled for labo
My thoughts exactly. Pretty much any of the gimmicky stuff they were doing
Explain to me how 1 2 switch wont be compatible?
@@K7TZ i think there's a minigame that uses the ir camera which switch 2 doesn't seem to have. but i dont think they'll make it not compatible at all bc of one minigame
And probably Warioware Move It, because several microgames use the ir blaster
Keef: What's the gimmick this time?
Me: The gimmick is that it's just a beefed up sleeker Switch.
the gimmick this time is that the joycon can be used like a mouse

"The fact that its coming out THIS YEAR is insane?"
The switch is 8 years old.
Mario Kart 8 is even older.
How is it INSANE???
Fr
We just found out about it and it's imminent. That's insane
Ngl joy cons probably gonna be 90$ at this point

Each?
Yea I believe that.
@ honestly its Nintendo so yea
Sad truth
Knowing Nintendo, that’s a given😭
Glad to have you back Keef!
Get well soon keef, please take care 😢😢😊
Yeah I'm gonna try to get it day 1. Hopefully that attaching piece for the Joycon is sturdy
So....how many cases of accidentally snapping the joycon connection pieces do we think will occur?
Probably the same amount of usb-c connectors breaking
Very very few. That tweet was completely misunderstanding how these things connect
@@Electric4Pie I’m glad someone saw beyond the memes
None
Edit: as much as reports of the joycon rails breaking, which was very little.
Completely skipped over the direct announcement 😅
As a person with a history of Bronchitis, I hope you’re doing well and I hope you recover👍
Yeah, no IR sensor so only a select few games are incompatible
They probably took out Amiibo support too.
hope you feel 100% soon, bro

(No one tell him to look at the Switch's original color options. It'd blow his mind)
$400 is about right. $50 more than an oled sounds about right for next gen. I hope it isn't $450 bc there are rumors on that too.

I'm really hoping that there's a performance boost on switch games like xenoblade chronicles 3 and zelda TOTK
Hopefully the drift issue will not resurface
I agree with you on pokemon. I got Xenoblade on sale on switch and runs well. I will keep playing it on switch 2 as well.
They are charging $70 for games on hardware that is nowhere near current consoles, I'm suprised they arent charging $500 for the Switch 2.
Only Switch Game which costs 70 is totk
We dont know how much anything is gonna cost yet. They very much could charge that much

pretty sure the not fully compatable games are gonna be like labo and stuff
What game you have on Nintendo? Same franchise since 80’?

There’s release buttons
@nassoltd need to see more but compared to whole sliding from both sides and locking in place I am not convinced this is a better option

the switch 1 games that they're referring to is stuff like Labo, Ring Fit, 12 Switch, any game that used the IR camera on the Switch 1 essentially
