No celery salt? Missing a key ingredient man. I was never big on Bloodys but I always wanted to be able to drink the next morning with the cool kids, so I set out to find the best. When I found it (a little bar in central Wisconsin) I got the recipe from the bartender and have been making them that way ever since. The vodka doesn't matter too much, it is all close to 60% Ethanol and 40% water. Gin is the same except it is flavored, usually with juniper berries and custom botanicals by brand. I like the top shelf brands, but usually, buy Smirnoff not because it's Russian, better, or cheaper, but because it's local. That's right folks, Smirnoff vodka is made in Plainfield Illinois.

I've had a bacon bloody Mary, where the vodka was apparently "bacon"flavored vodka. Pretty sure they just added a few drops of liquid smoke and threw a piece of bacon in it. I didn't complain, it was good.

But as you said, tabasco to taste. I guess your taste is just insane. = )
Worcestershire sauce. I'm from England, and to help with your pronunciation, it's wuster-shire. Horse-radish is how you spell it. Also, for veggies out there, wuster-shire has anchovies in it, but you can get vegan versions of it pretty easily! It also goes well poured into your regular stir frys and baked potatoes!
Where’s the fresh cracked black pepper bro!? Also, definitely started mimicking the “Juuudishaaaalssssystem” bit immediacy when he said that. Well played.

Maybe something like mezcal would be a good vodka substitute? I imagine those smokey, salty flavors would be right at home in a Bloody Mary. Call it a "Maria de Sangre".
Everyone has their own Bloody Mary recipe/method. Here's mine, because why the hell not, right? In a pint glass with a good amount of ice, add worcester sauce, valentina hot sauce, lemon juice, celery salt, smoked paprika, black pepper, and white pepper. The celery salt is the secret pro move. Pour vodka over the seasoned ice. I use Stoli, but that's only because I use Stoli for everything. If I had a Costco nearby, I'd probably use Kirkland. It's basically Grey Goose, but cheap. Top up the glass with V8 juice (yeah, I know, but it just tastes better, dammit) and stir with as much halfassed vigor as you can muster while hungover. Garnish with a dill pickle spear dunked down in the drink. This is a key move for a couple of reasons. First, it helps with the hangover, and second, when you feel like dead microwaved dog poop, you don't want to have to clean and cut fresh vegetation.
Yes to celery salt!! I was wondering about that. Also I like a good amount of black pepper. It adds an extra spice flavor that just is perfect. Also if you add spicy pickle juice (I like wickles) it it amazing! Your version sounds great!
Up here in Canada, it's considerably easier to find a Caesar than a Bloody Mary, and they're generally built in the glass as well, but with all the different densities of liquids going in there, shaking it seems like a good idea. I'm going to have to try it with the consomme, though. I also disagree with Greg here. There are certain drinks that I think should be garnished in an over-the-top manner, and I'd count the Bloody Mary(and Caesar) as one of them.

Lol! I love that Dana Carvey comedy special. “She’s Chopping Broccoli!”
Add clam juice, best drink.
I have mine with salt and pepper, that's usually how people make it but yours is a cool take on it :) spicy bloody mary is the best!
Maybe something like mezcal would be a good vodka substitute? I imagine those smokey, salty flavors would be right at home in a Bloody Mary. Call it a "Maria de Sangre".
People do this! I haven't had a chance to try it yet though, but I will
That’s a chaser is I ever did hear one
Greg, you are now one of my go-to guys for learning how to make authentic and perfectly crafted cocktail. The videos are also very funny! Jay

This sounds correct to me!
Yes to celery salt!! I was wondering about that. Also I like a good amount of black pepper. It adds an extra spice flavor that just is perfect. Also if you add spicy pickle juice (I like wickles) it it amazing! Your version sounds great!
The V8 has celery juice, too. IIRC
I really do think the Bloody Mary (decided not to abbreviate) needs lemon juice. Might even say to float it on top.
Best bartender on youtube. Hope he makes it out alive.
First time I've seen a shaken bloody Mary. Ever tried one with a measure of beef consomme?
I have not!
Try swapping the vodka with Jameson, maybe a barspoon of pickle juice. Dill of course
Maybe don't start that "How to History" side-channel just yet, Greg...
I feel like there’s a show with my brand of history already in it... drunk something something...
Well made and hilariously presented
