FYI this is NOT an issue becasue im overweight if you are a human getting in and out of the truck your thigh will rub on the switch...you would have to remember to step up and in without touching the side of the seat which is not natural at all, even you skinny small men rub your leg on the seat getting in and out of your trucks unless they are lowered...
Try to pick your ass up after you initially sit down and move it back in the seat. Works for me 100% of the time. I drive multiple vehicles (cars, trucks, heavy machinery) daily). Let me know if it works Jeff
Wow, I think you solved my mystery as well. I swear this has been randomly happening in my new Mazda I got this past summer. Suddenly I'd be driving and notice I'm leaning back more than normal, but setting the seat position is a 'set it and forget it' thing so I didn't understand what was causing it. I just figured my fat butt had been pushing the seat back
Hey bro, try putting your right foot into the car first instead of your butt, and when coming out dont slide your butt off the seat, thats how truck seats get blown out and it would prevent this issue. Thanks ct. Peace!
Love Toyotas. However, I shy away from the creature power comforts that most people seek. 2019 4 cylinder, SR5 access cab is fine for me. Manual seat. IF I sent more time driving, I appreciate the creature comforts more. Hope your wiper gets fixed soon. TY for sharing.
Put your right foot in, swing your butt in, pull left leg in. Getting out- put left foot on running boards, lift up then right foot in ground. Ive never hut the lever that i know.
Solution time, pop the button or pull the fuse. I can't comment much else, I'm a slender guy.... Although the seat should have a driver memory. Where it'll adjust to the profile set. This is the newer Tacoma Limited? Or is it the TRD?
I tell you that you don't realize how nice heated/cooled seats are until you have them. I have them in my Challenger and they are great. Maybe someone will make some aftermarket buttons for those seat controls. I'm happy with my 2018 F150 XL with none of the common electronic add-ons. The only options were the 4X4 & Towing package. I prefer not to have too many electronic things in my truck to break. On the other side, my '23 Challenger R/T Plus has almost all the options, but I did get the 100k mile 10yr bumper to bumper extended warranty to help mitigate some of the eventual electronics failures. You ever miss your Challenger AWD?
We had a 2014 taco crew cab, never really fell in love with it. Legs were oriented in an awkward way, cab was tight, rode like a covered wagon, not to mention the fuel mileage was horrendous. Though I do like the look, community & reliability of them.
these vehicles are getting too damn complicated. I had a weird experience last night. I went out to shovel the driveway a little bit around midnight and it had been about five hours since I last drove my tundra. I’m shoveling near it and I can hear a weird humming noise coming from the fuel tank. It went on for about five minutes or so. weirded me out but a quick research indicated it was the evap doing its job. I didn’t find any mention of this behavior in the owners manual, which would’ve been nice for it to give you a heads up that your truck is just gonna make random humming noises near the fuel tank when the vehicle has been shut off.
Never heard of that.. humming in all cars is either the emergency break going on or off or the fuel pump priming for the next turn on ... your evap just runs off the vacuum pressure of your motor
I have seen heavier folks pop off the seat control tabs when they get in and out of the truck..... Sad, but true.....Toyota is pushing agenda to get in better shape [LOL] because when I get in and out of a 2024, no issues......I am within normal weight specs
its the programable memory seat position, you can change it to how you want it to be. it it programmed to the key Fob, if you have 2 key fobs, 2 drivers can each have their own seat memory position.
there are issues but so far nothing wrong with the drivetrain but its only a year old, most of the trucks have 30-70k on them by now with very few over 100k in another year or 2 we will see how the engine works out...
@@cutlerylover i'm just joking,, i Agree i have GMC Canyon with the same seat controls in same spot except there is a concave ridge that keeps you from rubbing against the controls when entering or exiting. Clearly a rare design flaw from Toyota🤫
Save a driver’s position there’s position one and position two and then even if you move it when you get out and get back in, it will return to that position that you saved
to add to my reply I went back and watched other footage there def isnt an option for sweat positions it would be numbered buttons on the door panel and this one doesnt have it...not sure if thats for certain models or specific packages?
no the seat physically moves back lol, theres a cause and a reason and a action its very much real...go to a dealer ask to drive one get in an out 5 times and see for yourself
Drove one a few thousand miles and never had this happen... what i did have happen was when leaning into the truck my hip would bump the button but can see thats not happening here@@cutlerylover
Why are people being dicks? Toyota put the controlles in the way. It's a truck, it's not like he can step up and out of it. That would have me wondering too Jeff

Good you found the reason. Thought it might have been the seat position preseats if that truck has those options

I have a 2011 4runner. I don't hit the lever getting in and out but I do hit it a lot accidentally. They could definitely make those levers smaller.

@ I’m not a car person, but there’s hundreds of people that say that’s what the noise is.
My Lexus GX used to do the same thing. Normal and yes, it's your EVAP

Where are you getting this information? I have a 2024 off-road Iforce max premium and I haven't heard of this feature.
3d printing solves this with a low profile switch cover to replace the bulky one
Seat memory?
There's a lot more issues with the 4th gen than just seat problems. I'm glad I choose to stick with my 2nd gen
There really isn’t other than price and small quirks like this. The 4th gen engine is doing pretty well so far
there are issues but so far nothing wrong with the drivetrain but its only a year old, most of the trucks have 30-70k on them by now with very few over 100k in another year or 2 we will see how the engine works out...
At least you found the problem
Newer cars have a seat setting mode that remembers the last setting it’s on
I have a 4th gen and don’t have this issue.
probably less of a problem for taller people i would think
I guess tacoma's are built for those with small thighs...😂
small thighs would do the exact same thing...
@@cutlerylover Yes, small guys have the same issue. It's a design issue.

Yep, I would hate this.
Love you Jeff
😂
That's really strange!
Duct tape fix
lol as funnty as that is yes taping around the buttons once its in the posotion you want would fix the problem but look like crap...
too much tech and tattle tale modes
You sound so much like Sam Hyde I thought it was his channel
My Honda moves the seats back when I open the door to make it easier for us chunky Americans to get in. Probably the same thing.
