We are exploring more into the abandoned farming community along the little river. We are heading up a section of road we have yet to explore. Theses homes and all the land was sold to the State in the 1920’s and 30’s. Some of these homes had been lived in for multiple generations dating back to the early 1800’s. Families were raised in these hills. Life was hard and they worked hard.
We explore the land and see what remains of these homes and farms. We walk the old roads, along the old stone walls and listen for the echoes of a community long gone from these hills.

I had the pleasure of visiting Vermont and NH earlier this month. It’s a magical place and I miss it every day now. I would love to hear more about the old settlements.
