Ditto to what everyone has already said - EXCELLENT video with info, links, and how you filmed it - so helpful! Because of this presentation I subscribed and also went to your website! Thank you and best wishes for your continued success❣️
Thank you so much for taking the time to do this video. I just happened upon your sight when I was deciding how to get started on using rivets. This was super helpful and will save me from buying unnecessary items since I just make things for myself. BTW, your hands are beautiful. Love your nails!
Thank you so much for this video. I have the Kam tabletop that I have only used for snaps. Now I need to do rivets and had no idea where to start. I am still waiting to hear from Judy but at least now I can browse the site for what I may need before I purchase. You have been a great help!
Thank you so much for sharing this information! Your pieces on the video are beautiful! I’m, for now , just interested in putting rivets in jeans. I’ve ruined so many just trying to hammer them together and do not understand why you have to cut off the screw or post, if you don’t, the post comes completely through the cap, very frustrating 😜!
Thank you for this video. I have a KAM tabletop and I got the rivet dies several months ago with no particular project in mind but wanted them for future use....and they are still in the plastic packages. I needed a place to start trying them and this video helps.
Thank you for this helpful video. I wanted to put in snaps and was looking at a cheap tool. Then I watched some videos and went to the KamSnap website where there is tons of info. I finally ordered the large green model and some snaps and I am excited to get started. They are having a great sale right now so I am glad I went for it. I will order more die sets over time. I am subscribing to your channel, and will check your website. Thanks again.
I bought my Homepro LR press 20 years ago and only purchased the die set for the size 00 grommets that I use all the time. It's in great shape but it is discontinued and I can no longer get dies for it. I'm looking for a snap setter now for a new project, which is how I found your video. It's not a bad idea to buy all the sizes and types that you are interested in owning or a multi-size pack. Even if you aren't going to use them now, they may come in handy for future projects. You also might want to have a backup set of dies for your favorite sizes. I lost the top half of my die set for nearly a year and couldn't find a replacement anywhere. My husband found my missing part behind my desk drawers while running a cable.
whoohoo I’ve just bought my first press just like the one one the table so this video is gonna be the video that about 3.00 so this is the perfect video for me so thank u so much 😁 xx
Thank you. I just got the hole die and the rivet and snap dies, the hand held and table top press and got 10% off for first time purchasing. I was so lost.. looking on Amazon and all over for what I wanted . I'm glad I bought from an American company.
Thank you very much for sharing this information. I am very new to this, and absolutely everything you said was very helpful to me. I truly am very grateful for this video!
Thank you for this very useful and informative video. I am looking to purchase a table top presss and have been researching the many out there and my head was spinning 😂 but then I found your wonderful video and now I know what I need 😊
Thanks immensely for this information!!! I feel that I know exactly which dies I need. I, too, bought many dies that I have not used. Now I know better!
This video is amazing! I have a Goldstar press which I love but it’s limited because they don’t have the key fob plate and the hole punch die works poorly (so I’ve heard). I got my press from Goldstar because their shipping was 99 cents on everything. But now, their shipping prices have increased and I’m considering a new press. I will probably get the Kam handheld thanks to this video. It will be great for traveling. I will still use my Goldstar for rivets. Many thanks for providing this information.
This was so helpful! I just bought a press. I have the wrist strap dies and am thrilled to know they work with the grommets! Would love to see videos on snaps and even grommets!
I do enjoy my GS for rivets; it's done me well! There are some places selling lovely custom plastic snaps though, and I can't use my GS for them. I want to get the converter die from Kam and give that a try so I can use snaps more.
Yes to a video on snaps please. I make bags, but I made clothing more often. Right now, I have some coats without snaps because I don't like the way my old style snap setter with the hammer works.
Very, very helpful video! I want to order a press and this helps me decide what I really need to go with it. I would love to paint one purple! Was it very hard to paint the rivet press?
It was not hard at all and I am definitely not an expert with spray paint! I took the handle off and I taped off the spring. And then I just did 3 or 4 light coats, and it came out pretty good!
Thank you thank you thank you for this very informational and useful. I have been wanting to get something to install rivets with but I don't want the big table top version. So do I just call Cam snaps and tell them I want to purchase the hand held.
You’re welcome! So you can order directly off the KamSnaps website or you can send an email to Judy the owner (her email is on their website) and tell her what you’d like. She’ll help you get everything you need!
@@SewManyCreations I will be contacting cam snaps directly because I don't want to spend a lot of money at this time I just want the basics for rivets and probably snaps.
I’ve been trying to find a book on what dies to use for rivets and such. I would like to get into using more then just plastic since sometimes the material is too thick for it. How did you figure out what goes with what. I have a bunch of dies and a Qwork hand-press from Amazon. No books anywhere!
I feel the same way about snaps I'm a beginner and invested in a handheld plastic snap tool and snaps but as my projects became more advanced and or thicker big fail I kept thinking I was doing something wrong and blue almost an entire color until I realized they would not work with the thickness . Do the plastic snaps come in a different size that will work and thicker material? I love you videos by the way thank you so much❤
Those larger press plates will not go into the small handheld rivet plyers, because you would find it extremely difficult to get enough pressure to cut through any material, with a large cutting die-set, with the small handheld rivet plyers. You need the larger lever to get enough pressure to cut from any large die-set. Hope this helps cheers.
I have the same question! I would also like to know if they were any issues with peeling after it was painted and if there were any regrets afterwards.
I haven’t painted it yet. I’d think that the usual paint prep protocols would apply, a little sanding and asking the paint store what would be best for the paint. It was recommended to remove the handle and to use painter’s tape to cover the spring. I’m guessing some type of Rustoleum would work. Let me know what you do. Joanne

A drop or two of sewing machine oil on upper die threads will help on die sticking. Great video. Thanks.

Thank you. Please let me know where you purchased you wooden piece on the base?
I mentioned it in the video as well as in the info section where everything is linked 👍🏻
Have you used a Prym Vario Creative Tool? I can't easily get Kam in the UK so looking for options

Can this be modified for metal stamping?
So you recommend just getting the 2.5 & a die to begin with?
Can the Kamsnaps tools also do grommets and eyelets?
@@kennieschlappi597 Yes it does many other things. These are just the dies I use the most.
Can you use the lrge presser for snaps and holes? Thx
Are all the dies ,snaps and rivets from a company interchangable with different brands of presses? Thank you
No they are not. Each company makes their own dies specific to their presses.
@@SewManyCreations thank you very much,I was worried about being married to a peticular company
Where can I get to buy that magnetic base for my presser
