@@rps215 japan gets it because of "demand indochina", not because capitulation. and all you have to do is ask japan you transfer control after you are at war with allies i believe,it should work on these states too.
@@MrVentches From what I have seen, if France capitulate too quickly, Japan will press that button right away. If not and Japan already spent the PP they have for something else, they often do not get a chance to press that button later until someone declares war on Vichy France.
So because the career profile is here now, the game is going to consider "Siam" to be the first nation ISP ever played. Nice.

Siam/Thailand just didn't make a choice of joining either of the sides in WW2, although we took a few territories from Vichy Indochina in an invasion in 1940. Then, by the time we had to pick a side, the Japanese gave us a choice hours before their landing and nobody knew where the Prime Minister, Plaek Phibunsongkram went.
The choice was made next morning when the invasion already happened and the PM finally returned to Bangkok.

@@darkpixel1128 To be fair its also an offence to have criticism on the current monarch, but since the entire country of Thailand pretty much despises the current monarch due to him living in a German hotel and not having stepped foot in Thailand for almost five years or so, just about nobody enforces those types of laws anymore

Another option (that works even in vanilla) is to join Axis instead, that way you can capture French Indochina really early on and form the Rattanakosin Kingdom for extra cores. Afterwards you can naval invade Indonesia before Japan gets their hands on it, rather than trying to push through nonexistent Burmese infrastructure

I think it's a shame Siam never got a focus tree. They actually did stuff during the war and I think it could flesh out the eastern theatre a lot.
That's why i hope the "Pearls of the Orient" can get a countrypack first before the South Americans. I mean, Japan's Battlefield worth more than America's Backyard.

Fun fact: During the Japanese "invasion" of Thailand, the Japanese sent one of their soldiers to negotiate with the Thai police at a police station in Prachuap province. The problem was that no one understood each other. The Japanese soldier was bayoneted to death, a firefight ensued after that.
The civilians, the police, and the servicemen were eager to defy the Japanese, but the higher-ups didn't really want to. Who knows what atrocity would've happened if they didn't surrender to the Japanese.

Maybe it could be like a throwback to your old switzerland video from back in the day where you showed off an espionage mod? You could spec into espionage and be the allied spymaster, causing chaos from the background? This was what kept me occupied in my recent British Raj game, where I played till 1946 and tactically nuked most of Germany and every Japanese victory point.

It’s better to join the Axis imo. Conquer the empty Indochina immediately and make your formable nation while grabbing Singapore and as much of Burma as possible until the resistance is too much. Then hold that line while you take Indonesia and maybe Australia, while pushing slowly into the Raj when opportunities arise
If South East Asia had a DLC it would be sick:
Dutch East Indies has potential for a focus tree
British Malaya should be in the Together For Victory DLC but this focus tree would be better
Siam did help in WW2 so it would be a good Focus Tree
Philippines (not in South East Asia but whatever) would be fun if you want to make a fortress or just defend against the Japanese empire
All six Southeast Asian territories together deserves a DLC for them.
