    What is the best way to remove the center console? This switch in my aux port does not recognize anything plugged into it on my 2012 Mazda 6 so I need to disassemble it to either connect a jumper or replace the Aux port. Any ideas of the least resistance path to accomplish this?

      I'm sorry to say, but that's not really a simple process that I can explain here in a few words. It's quite an involved process that you are getting into. According to the manual, you would need to remove the upper panel, shift knob, shift panel, decoration panel, centre panel lower, and rear console before getting access to the auxiliary jack. That said, it does fit into the rear console with 4 tabs (and no screws). So, if you feel like you want to do this properly, I can recommend you grab a shop manual on eBay (I got mine used for $60 shipped). If you feel like potentially tearing stuff up, you have a number of options open to you, of course. None of which I would recommend - full disclosure.

    Hello Richard , I do have 2012 Mazda 6 but there is a lot of delay in the Bluetooth audio and video ..
    Is there a way to fix it !?

      If you are connecting your phone to the car via Bluetooth, you will experience a delay between the audio and the video. This is most likely because the CODEC that your phone is set to is different from the car's CODEC. The Bluetooth system in these cars is very old, compared to the newer phones we have and so this causes a problem. You might be able to change this setting in your phone (if it is an Android) but in my case, none of the possible CODECs were available to be selected (they were greyed out). If you are connecting your phone using the 3.5-to-3.5 cable you shouldn't experience any delays.

      @@ravichappidi5827 I'm not familiar with a procedure for iphones. Upgrading the CODEC in the Mazda or Bose head unit is probably impossible. You would probably have to replace it with an after market unit.

    Can you tell me if you wheel has buttons for call?

    • @RichardTait1977
      @RichardTait1977  Рік тому

      My steering wheel has 3 buttons for the telephone: TALK (picture of a person speaking), PICKUP (picture of a phone with the handset raised), and HANGUP (picture of a phone with the handset lowered). If your car is a USDM vehicle, the owner's manual for your car is available in PDF format from Mazda USA. Just do a Google search for the year, model, and the words "owner's manual" and you will see it. Good luck.

      @@RichardTait1977 mine doesn't have those buttons :( do you know if that means my car doesn't have bluetooth?

    • @RichardTait1977
      @RichardTait1977  Рік тому

      @@vancedgmail8301 If your car doesn't have any of these buttons on the steering wheel, then you don't have Bluetooth. However, that probably means you don't have the Bose stereo. You could either change the head unit to one that has Bluetooth or you can use one of those eBay cigarette lighter socket Bluetooth devices.
