That OEM intake is NOT restrictive at this power level. It's a dual throttle body, dual air box setup that pulls in cold air from the front bumper. The Whipple kit even reuses the stock air boxes. A CAI is just a noisemaker.

Boomer advice is always “cold air intake”, the stock air box is way more than enough from 2018 onward. Hell, adding the 2018 stock intake to a 11-17 makes a noticeable difference.

For the price of doing a muffler delete and buying the X pipe had he added a little more he should've be just gotten a full corsa extreme system it sounds better and a little cleaner tone and still loud.

I highly doubt that good buddy. That 5.0 makes 486hp and 0-60 in 3.8 seconds. Your duramax just like any other stock diesel is slow and doesn't stand a chance. Hell, my 2013 GT will give it a run in stock form. I have already beat 3 duramaxs and 2 Cummins trucks in my area on my count. All of them blow smoke and straight piped while the weakest 5.0 in the Coyote family keeps up like nothing. To even add. I have been in all different types of Diesels. Plenty of work trucks at work with them. Dog water slow. My other non boosted Mustang, a 2018 10 speed does 0-60 in 3.3 seconds with e85 and headers. You guys need turbos from the start to make V6 power and smaller big block torque numbers.
He should have bought the whole Corsa kit. Straight pipe on these cars is just as bad as S550’s. It’s horrible. Dude had a Honda before this, you can tell by parking it on the rev limiter.
A loud exhaust is kid's stuff. It's embarrassing to be cruising my all-black 2023 Mustang GT 6 speed on the interstate and have a yahoo pull up next to me in his straight piped, poorly decked out Charger. I ignore these clowns the best I can and they eventually dissipate.

i have this exact setup on my 2021 gen 3 and the 2024 sounds quieter
the most important thing to do when it comes to exhaust is replacing the headers with them kooks 1 7/8, that's what I'm gonna get done to mine.
