When per capita you're the biggest releaser of C02, the home of climate change denial and the global hegemon then actually yes, America does have the ability to fuck up the world and has consistently done so (including two total economic collapses both resulting in Fascist uprisings). I don't like this fact. I don't like that Americans have their head up their arses a lot, but it's still a fact.
You're right. The US (and other world nations) do utilize capitalism to self wealth, to less developed nations promising stability and growth in a new world. The real objective is the open access to these country's cheap labor and resources without the costly invasion or war. So really, it is about humanity. Capitalism is anti-humanity with the US at the helm.
Wonderful stuff, I always recommend the book 'Looking Backward' by Edward Bellamy, many of these concepts were posited by Bellamy while he was writing in 1897.
Maybe I'll have to check that one out sometime. I'm busy reading 'Looking Forward' right now though by Kenneth S. Keyes Jr. and Jacque Fresco. Would recommend that one as well!

His films are Idiotic imo. They're all emotional manipulation and innuendo in the place of facts. What little facts are presented ignore facts on the opposing side. The films are infotainment propaganda. If Fox news and Ancient Aliens had a baby his films would be it. They aren't serious documentaries. As long as you realize that going in they're fine. They're fun to watch if your in that kind of mood but like Fox or MSNBC people think his docs are serious news when really they're just one long editorial. An opinion piece dressed up with catchy music, flashy editing and an emotionally manipulative script masquerading as news.
Dj luminol You definitely never came further than the intro, that's a fact, watch the whole movies, the first one you can leave out, it really was overwhelming and confusing, but the other ones bring it on the point.
Wonderful interview, have been a huge fan of Zeitgeist trilogy for several years now and try and share it with anyone who will listen. The extremely blind world view and unrealized utter confusion about a great many things in general most Americans seem to have unfortunately doesn’t seem to be the best place to do this but I think what must happen to really facilitate a substantial movement in the direction you are talking about and advocate for is somewhere on earth a good real sizable(possibly few hundred thousand people or more)working example or prototype of those concepts so that people can actually see the benefits of that type resource based society first hand. The transition from one to the other is ultimately going to require some monetary investment in the beginning at the very least because that is under the current system what gets things done however inefficient they may be what this means is that some of those with great wealth will have to be convinced and agree to invest in the movement the only problem clearly is that in essence they would be investing that wealth to eventually eliminate that they enjoy that wealthy status in society and why would they do this and who would be willing to do it? My knowledge is very limited when it comes to how one would go about colonizing another planet but I what little I do think I understand the conceptual model of resource based society is one that in many ways could fit easily into how societal structure would be most efficient and best structured for such a colonization and if this is so then I would think Elon Musk would have interest in helping to create the model on earth in my opinion that is necessary to spark real change as a prototype for societal structure for his dream of Mars human colonization someday. It’s seems a bit obvious so it’s quite possible this idea has already been proposed or discussed but because I have not specifically heard of any thing along these lines I thought I might suggest some type of effort in collaboration of Mr. Joseph’s(and/or the Venus Project’s)ideas and Mr. Musks monetary resources and also his dreams regarding Mars…

Bruh my history teacher said that the news is only focusing on what happened at the front of the capitol and not in the far far back which he said was peaceful. Well the most the people in the back back was kick some grass and yell nasty stuff. And many interviews showed that they were gonna go into the capital to and they thought what was going on in the capital was good. They already went far enough to go beyond the point then they were aloud to, and also there were some police back a little further than the front of capital and they got beat up by the rioters. The reason why the people in the back weren't acting as violent as the ones who were in the capitol was because they never even got the chance to get in there. A majority in the back also WANTED to go into the capital and get to the Congress Members. So my teacher doesn't know what he is talking about.
What they advocate for doesn't fit into the racket. Doesn't fit into industry. Doesn't make people money. Peter is also much too radical for the average American mind, unfortunately.
I live in switzerland and we have universal health care. Yes you have to pay for it, but if you can't pay you still have the right for health care. We also have student funding where the students pay back a fraction of it. This has nothing to do with socialism or communism or marxism or whatever. It's just a system that helps people who don't have the money for education and thus creates more fairness in society. I agree with peter that it is naiv to say that everyone gets what they work for. This is absolutely not the case. Compare switzerland to africa - Its also about luck and not "everybody gets what they earn". This is an oversimplified and false statement of people who don't know what privilege is i think and i live in a privileged society.
What if some group of people will start to create eco villages?intentional communities?open to everyone in the side of each city where is the need for it? Create one fully functioning community and bring it to global stage? Like for example charitable rock concert LIVE AID have done?
6:54 crime: we determine what is a crime and what isn’t...Portugal decriminalized all drugs. Oregon just did the same. Canada legalized cannabis. The Netherlands, Germany and New Zealand has either decriminalized or legalized prostitution. We here in the United States need to end the criminalization of drugs and prostitution.
He says he’s a capitalist, but he’s philosophizing away in a way that reminds me of Karl Marx. Vertical farming is an amazing concept, but it’s gonna take decades to make that transition. Meanwhile, climate change is gonna kick in and it’s gonna hit the lower and middle class hard. Much food is being imported - in fact, most products that we buy are mostly produced very far away. We are extremely addicted to oil in a similar way a heroin addict is addicted to a chemical that will ultimately kill him. We know this is gonna happen and we can fantasize away, but the transition toward a more sustainable world is probably gonna get very ugly unless we get real about the climate calamity real soon.
Wonderfully intelligent discussion. It’s so much more productive than the impotent outrage that’s been regurgitated ever since the domestic terrorist attack on the Capitol. Just a reminder however to people who make their living talking: It’s familiar not fermiliar; It’s February not Febuary and its realtor not relator.

And have him talk to Destiny about Capitalism please. If there is one amazing person to set this up, it is you David. And I’m not referring to myself, although I’m also a David.
Funny I was just thinking the other day, where is Peter Joseph? I think it could be argued that there is a line that can be drawn starting from the first Zeitgeist documentary and ending at the trump presidency, qanon, and current situation.
While it can be viewed as campy hyperbole from the middle of the last century, Fredrick Pohl's speculative short story "The Midas Plague" is worth a mention here in reference to societal abundance and automation. It's a quick read. [Oh, that's right; UA-camrs prefer not to read. 😄 ]
I share Peter's concerns with Government incompetence. However, their incompetence is precisely the reason why I am completely standoff-ish in giving them any more of our hard earned currency for them to squander and is out of the question. At least, until their incompetence is proven otherwise. UBI is a beautiful concept in theory, in practice? With the funds under the with-out-of-doubt incompetent government's control no less? I'm highly skeptical to say the least. In fact, we'd be rewarding bad management by offering them even more power. We need real systemic changes from within, at the very root of fiscal & monetary policy. Let alone the macro economics of the cause and effect that the Central Banks, as well as the vehicle of Fractional Reserve Lending mechanisms have their hands in and need to be uprooted as a whole. Until then, I do not think throwing more currency at social or economic issues will solve social or economic dilemmas. In fact, when you add time to the equation, throwing more currency at issues in general, quite literally inflate our issues. At best, we'd be kicking the can down the road. Unfortunately, I don't have solutions but, I don't believe destroying our currency through inflating the overall currency supply by creating new currency (at interest) everytime we run into an issue, is sustainable. We're all going to be in for a rude awakening if we keep on headed down the path we're on. I would be focusing on acquiring anything that's a store of value because in the imediate (next couple of years or so), we're about to witness the greatest wealth transfer in history. *My thoughts are purely based on that the current system as we known it, will continue to hobble along until it's dying breath. I don't see any intrinsic systemic changes or reforms in favor of the little guy, anytime soon.
I agree with his opinion on inequality 1000%. Inequality is the root cause of nearly all of our problems. It's just that right wingers often misattribute the cause of their anger to Mexicans, Democrats, Communism, feminists, atheists, government or whatever.
I dunno why I stumbled on this video but reading the comments on the video is Red Flag City with the overly sycophantic praise. Is this guy running some kind of cult?
Economic equality. . . how? That isn't something you can GIVE. My experience has been that there are many people who simply have no interest in bettering themselves or their family. They are raised to have no ambition other than to work a dead end job and suffer through the week in order to drink or drug their weekends away, then look for someone to blame for their situation. They have no interest in education; educating themselves in order to qualify for higher paying jobs/careers. I don't believe it has as much to do with oppression as with lack of drive, curiosity, interest in working to better their lot. I was raised poor in the south. I never once thought I was oppressed. I wanted to succeed and I did so. I went to college (working full time and on scholarships and loans, no one provided the funds), became employable and employed. I eventually had a career in aerospace. I do agree that some have circumstances that put more pressure on them, but I don't believe you can excuse what happened at our capitol as 'economic oppression'.
Zeitgeist was very conspiratorial and temporarily misled me as a teenager into 911 trutherism. Surprising to see David platform this guy without any confrontation on his history
This was what, 13-14 years ago? I don’t see how it’s relevant to bring up something from over a decade ago when Peter has since written books and directed films about more important stuff and has already addressed the 9/11 part of Zeitgeist.
Joseph still makes an academic objection to 9/11. And there is nothing wrong with disagreeing with the official story. He thinks critically. His history is one of impeccable integrity.
That was his first movie, he has moved way past that, and evolved into a more systemic/sociological approach. No one cares about 9/11 truth anymore, we are moving forward (title of his 3rd film). That being said, is it really out there to think they let it happen as a pretext for war? That would never happen, right? Except it has...almost every major war (except the Korean War where we were legitimately acting as a UN agent) we've been since the dawn of American imperialism has involved a sketchy/fabricated incident. The USS Maine randomly blowing up, the Lusitania had weapons on board - that's why the U-boat took it out, all the carriers happened to be at sea during Pearl Harbor, the Gulf of Tonkin was complete bullshit, the babies being thrown out of incubators in the 1st Gulf War, bold face lie. There is a ton of sketchy shit with 9/11. Footnote 44 clearly shows they had eyes on those guys the second they came into the country. Yada, yada, yada they let it happen.

It's his podcast. Been doing for a few months now. Also, intereflections film. He's making culture in decline season 2 as well

Peter Joseph is a true visionary in our world today. I cannot understand how he doesn't have a much larger following
Man, I really enjoyed that interview! Super informative!
Hell, I even share a lot of these opinions, so it was nice to see them articilated and discussed!
You should check out The Zeitgeist Movement
So on point! Great interview!
Great to run into Peter again. 💪
Thanks so much David for interviewing Peter!! I wish more people would at the very least consider his point of view.

Woooo the king, has returned!! You’re the man Peter ! A nice surprise to see you on the Packman Show! Made my afternoon 😁👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Fascinating interview
This is AWESOME!! Love this guy.
Peter is a beast
I loved this interview, David. Thanks for doing it. Also, it's good that you delved into the causes of our problems and possible solutions to them as opposed to just doing videos about sensational headlines in the news.
Yass!!👌
Great interview. I highly recommend Peter’s new film Interreflections. Also, consider supporting Peter on Patreon if you can afford it.
I guess someone should perhaps update the category tags it has on imdb which at the moment is "Fantasy" and "Scifi"...
Future of humanity? The universe doesn’t revolve around the US!
@@taranullius9221 Where did you get that information? Also, CO2 is not a pollutant and climate change is a hoax.
I love this guy. He lifts the veil from this social construction.
Peter is describing TRUE human freedom. It’ll happen eventually.
Not very common to have a interviewer that actually gets everything Peter talks about. Thanks a lot for having Peter on!
What an amazing interview.
Hand down the best John Cusack performance in years
I remember this guy
He's a young Chris Hedges without the absolute gloom that Chris paints.

Great interview. I need to check out interreflections soon.
Yes!
If you're interested in learning more I highly suggest his third zeitgeist movie ( ua-cam.com/video/QwiL0wEl8gA/v-deo.html ), Especially at 1:30:10 although I do strongly suggest checking out the whole thing
@@djluminol and what do u suggest mr dj, what informative pieces aren’t saturated with emotive and opinionated takes
Dj luminol You definitely never came further than the intro, that's a fact, watch the whole movies, the first one you can leave out, it really was overwhelming and confusing, but the other ones bring it on the point.
I really didn't espect this interview... this is a nice surprise.
This attempted coup looks like what happens when a Tom Clancy movie and a Mel Brooks movie have a baby.
Ouch!

PJ is literally the only person taking such a systemic view of human behavior and the evolution of trade.

Great conversation. Understandable and informative.
I am disappointed in this teacher.
@@mommyworth13 me to. But my old civics teacher hates trump so that's good.
So your teacher is a typical Trumper. We have a majority of these even in our higher learning institutions here in Red TX.

Wowwww interview Peter joseph nice!! Very cool!
Why isn't someone like Peter or David a presidential candidate?
@MD Dee Haha what? Have you not been following the news or looked out your window for that matter?
@mR Mossley Ha, you're the first one to say something about it. Congrats!
Wonderfully intelligent discussion. It’s so much more productive than the impotent outrage that’s been regurgitated ever since the domestic terrorist attack on the Capitol. Just a reminder however to people who make their living talking:
It’s familiar not fermiliar;
It’s February not Febuary and its realtor not relator.
19:44 and when will this next conversation be David? Did you know on March 15th Peter is releasing his 4th movie of the Zeitgeist series, subtitled “Requiem”. Bring him back!! And have him talk to Destiny about Capitalism please. If there is one amazing person to set this up, it is you David. And I’m not referring to myself, although I’m also a David.
I agree 100% with what he says about inequality being the prime reason for Trumpism and where we have arrived.
Love Peter
Great talk.
Love you David, just wanted to know what you thought about the recent story of trump stealing statues and items from the whitehouse?
😆
Funny I was just thinking the other day, where is Peter Joseph? I think it could be argued that there is a line that can be drawn starting from the first Zeitgeist documentary and ending at the trump presidency, qanon, and current situation.
16:05 Is where all these ideas inevitably break down. Selfishness is an incredibly powerful force and is usually underestimated.
God, let that guy start in politics! I would follow him all the way!
Be the change yourself 😉
Blessings
Great discussion.
Indeed. Excellent analysis. He takes the focus off Trump, the personality, and looks at broader trends.
14:04 I wanted to hear what he was gonna say about time banks!!
Edit: this moment sent me on a rabbit hole
This person seems to have good ideas. (Because I agree with them😄 )
I agree with his opinion on inequality 1000%. Inequality is the root cause of nearly all of our problems. It's just that right wingers often misattribute the cause of their anger to Mexicans, Democrats, Communism, feminists, atheists, government or whatever.
Great talk
Hell yeah! PJ got rescheduled!
I dunno why I stumbled on this video but reading the comments on the video is Red Flag City with the overly sycophantic praise. Is this guy running some kind of cult?
basically. he's a crypto-communist. communists are just quasi-cultists.
That was another Zeitgeist named group I think.
The enthusiastic nerd energy of this video is very appealing to me.
If you enjoyed this, please watch his new film Interreflections.
