WOOLWORTH's were great but were not booming in the early 70's. They were doing ok in Milwaukee,WI. But the place looked very old like from the 1940's-mid 50's. It was not well lit and looked unkept and sadly very dirty. The rest of these only two I ever heard of. They were for the middle class to upper middle class even then. The two big store I remember that closed and were bought up. Were Spartans bought up by Treasure Island I believe. Then TI was bought up by Target.
Craftsman tools were brands of Sears, not Montgomery wards. Kenmore appliances too.
Yep, Montgomery Ward sold Powr-Craft tools
As for Woolworth, the location in Downtown Nashville was where The Civil Rights Movement got its VERY FIRST START.
FYI the guy in the Crazy Eddie ads isn't "Crazy" Eddie Antar, he's an actor. Eddie Antar is the guy standing in front of him at 16:27.
Yes, sure thing!
Union Hall Department store in Rockford Illinois was closed when Target opened.
Ardan Catalogue Showroom was similar to Service Mdse. I think they are no longer in business.
