I really like how the Alba and Irene did Lenu and Lila at their mature years. I loved how the clothes fit in their bodies and show us while Lenu is trying to fit into the literary world, Lila is asserting herself as a businesswoman and someone who really poses a challenge to the Solaras. It is interesting to see that when Lenu feels that she has already achieved her goals (personal and professional) she wears white(not the neutral colors that represented discontent in the third season), while Lila, in the depths of despair, wears black(something still heavier than the dark shades she wore while working at the factory). Even if in different ways, the two reach their "peaks" with colors that are the opposite of each other, but still complement each other. The end of the books will always torture me.
It’s so true - Lila and Lenu’s lives are so intertwined, almost like they’re two halves of one whole. I’ve even heard the theory that Lila is Elena’s alter ego, which makes their dynamic even more fascinating to think about. The ending broke my heart too-Tina’s fate and the way Lila and Lenu’s paths separated, despite their bond being so strong for so long. It’s just such a devastating conclusion to their story.
