I imagine it must be an exhilarating feeling to be able to speak to a croud in that type of a language, one so dense with information and raw energy. song is FIRE

Best young guitarist today. Like Holdsworth, Di Meola, and Metheny rolled into one. But with a harder rock edge. And his tone sings. When your live version of the tune can rival the studio version, you know you are at the top of the game.

Awesome player. Love all the diff abrupt transitions, love the interesting techniques that aren't used often by others. Most of this guys playing will go unappreciated by non musicians or guitarists. Only thing I dont love is his tone. It's great until he gets into the faster playing. The notes are struggling to have definition because the gain and volume knob is rolled down so much. Fast playing rarely sounds good without high gain or some sort of compression. After listening to studio version I think the problem is the live mix. He's too quiet and effects are too much. The lack of note definition wasnt from low gain but low volume. It's hard to hear the initial attack of each note in the fast bits. Sort of like turning your delay and reverb up way too much at home. It's becomes a cavernous jumbled mess. Anyways I look forward to seeing and hearing more from this guy, esp some better quality live recordings

Fantastic technical playing but outside of other guitarists, not much of an audience. No verse, chorus, semblance of a song just musically intelligent noodling.
Great playing but nothing really new here It reminded me of when we went to go see yngwie malmsteen in concert and after the 3rd guitar swing around his back and same old legato playing we walked out of the concert.

I'm not a guitar nerd nor a guitar player. I'm an amateur drummer but I get stunned by this just the same. You need to understand music. That's it. Otherwise, go listen to the Muse, Placebo, whatever...
Definitely not music for tone deaf people. Generally Jazz (and Fusion as a part of it) is intended for musically inclined persons with some level of musical education and taste. To not feel bored any more go listening to some Niki Minaj, or Shakira or even Justin Bieber

Some people (myself included) enjoy complex music and others prefer more straight forward, danceable music. That's ok. Music (including jazz and subgenres of jazz) is for everyone. We have different preferences, no need for insults. You don't need to understand it to enjoy it. I can't tell you the intricacies of how food was made at an expensive restaurant, but I can say that it was delicious regardless.
