9:05 maybe use an anvil instead of the pulley as a backer for flattening dents

Great re restoration. This drill press looked like a hopeless piece of junk, but you made it in to a useful tool again. I would liked to have seen how you rewired the drill press, but it's an excellent result. Thanks

A little bit oil and grease would have been nice while reassembling, to not repeat the whole process again the next time. Other things may also could be improved. Nevertheless excellent work there.

If you weld it's better to do a 45 degree phase on both sides so the molten mettal can penetrate deeper into the component. Anyhow nice job bringing an old machine back to live. well done!

I would love to see him use this to drill a 1/8 and 1/4 inch alloy steel plate. You should probably replace the motor to make it work. Every mechanical piece looks fine... except from the fact that this drill press was manufactured with parts that require a certain tolerance fit between parts. When it rusts it chews up a thin layer of the surface, and after you sandblast and polish youre reducing the fit even more. So if your machine needs a 0.0005" tolerance. Youll probably end up with 0.002" after restoration.

These older Taiwan-built drill presses are very simple to break down and rebuild. There are literally dozens of UA-cam vids on the process, and they are all similar enough that you really can't get into trouble. You might be surprised at how intuitive it is to reassemble them. Like every skill, it just takes time and repetition.
A drill press is a invaluable tool, and a great beginner project. Despite the funky handles, the fact that the table was in such good shape was a huge clue that this drill press was probably worth fixing

I guess I'm just curious about it rusting again and is there something to do for that. Thanks and great work brother

Two questions, please: When you reassembled the press, it looked like you greased some points, but not others. May I ask what parts of the internal mechanism that you greased, please? Also, I love the polished surface, but what is frustrating for me is how quickly the exposed iron rusts. I've tried Johnson's Paste Wax and other sprays, but haven't found that they last very long. What do you use, please?

Watching people on these videos use their slip-joint pliers backwards is difficult. Is this just a trend to get under other folks’ skin, or do they really not realize that teeth on these pliers are cut as to only grip in one direction?

Usually in such videos do not disclose the cost of the work and the amount of time spent, if you gave at the end of a table with this data and a list of chemicals used, it would be a feature of the channel and probably would have attracted advertisers specified in the list.
