- ok, is it just me or does yibo look extra adorbs when he's scared 😆 totally me not laughing at his misery lol
but really, this video had to be made after i saw him running away from that spider with antennas 😂 tbh, i'm not a fan of bugs either, nor the dark, or ghosts, so i feel him.

@@PingGuo13 Yes, of course, these fears make him 'more human', but I don't think it's good when he gets annoyed with his fears over and over again, like the MCs like to do. The woman who forced Yibo to reach into the box and also made fun of him, I would have loved to knock her out.

i respect Yibo so much for not being shy and straight up admitting he has fears. a cool guy, who can do anything if he puts his mind into it, has fears of bugs, dark, ghost, which some can call 'childish', but it doesn't bother him. once again Yibo says 'f/ck toxic masculinity' and i'm proud of him.
p.s. can we take a moment to appreciate the acting talent Su Lian Ya has? she gives chills every time she performs! and you can't take your eyes off her despite being scared. what a talent!

There has got to be something inherently attractive about admitting to your fears. That would explain why these were what actually made me stan him in the first place.
the irrational fears of the dark and ghosts we mostly leave behind in our childhood. Yibo didn't leave them behind in his childhood because he didn't really have one. He is adorable being afraid of ghosts and darkness. I remember an interview with him and XZ where XZ was teasing him that the TV suddenly will get louder in the middle of the night or it will switch to another channel on its own and Yibo was genuinely afraid. It's a bit sad at the same time tbh. I'm not a psychologist but I'm sure it's something to do with trauma in the past.
And the insects phobia I can fully understand; I'm so afraid of spiders that all rational thought leave my head when I see one. Only fight or flight instinct. And the feeling like they are crawling all over your body is so unpleasant. This old DDU episode where they had a crickets and one of them jumped. Yibo jumped so high at that moment, it was so funny and not at the same time. We should not laugh at this. I feel a bit guilty for finding it funny...
I have to agree with some of the other comments tho: it takes guts and speaks of strength to admit to having such fears. Yibo is nothing but true to himself in being genuine person. And I admire him all the more because of that.
Ikr....that makes him more human...I,myself have my own fear that I always having panic attack whenever I saw mouse/mice...oh gosh!
i agree with you regarding how these might be fears from his childhood and how he didn't really have one so it could be why. either way, i find it so endearing that he shows such genuine reactions and has absolutely no issues admitting what he's afraid of. although i laughed, i'm also quite proud of him for his bravery!
@@gerinissanggar4165 everyone have some fears, rational or irrational is not important . The difference is, we don't have a public image to maintain and Yibo does. And most people when in the open will choose not to show the unglamorous side of themselves. The internet is full of such examples to an extent that we normalos think there is something wrong with us for not being so perfect. Wang Yibo is not going out of his way to show us how cool he is. That's why sometimes he is not cool but cute or even funny. It could be that he don't care what the fans think of him but it could be that he care and still want to be authentic. I wish more celebrities start doing this and not just as a trend to show us pictures with "no make-up".
For me I like the pictures of Yibo where he is made-up and styled within an inch of his life but I treasure the most the once where he is bare faced and relaxed and looking his real age.
@@helloyibo85 it could be because he always have a camera shoved in his face, even when he sleeps that meanwhile he don't care to control and alter his reactions anymore. I try and fail to imagine what it's like to live like this. But it's a brave thing in my eyes to show yourself so open and admit to weakness. Particularly if you are male. Unfortunately our society pose very stern rules on the "stronger" gender.
Wang Yibo doesn't care about such divisions, clichés and gender norms. I support him and agree with him about this.

He has my empathy. As someone who jumped at the face reveal on HIS screen, totally get it. My friends all prank me routinely by putting on horror when I don't realise it, because apparently me jumping fifteen feet in the air and squeaking is hilarious no matter that I then have nightmares for weeks.

I can't sleep in the dark either. I've been working at nights for five years now so, this way, I get to sleep during the day with see through curtains and all the sunlight coming it. That's how bad it is. I can relate to his fears a lot.

I think it's nice that you show what Yibo is afraid of. I always suffer with him. However, I always get angry when you annoy Yibo with his fears like in the one show where they followed him with the insects. Because that's no longer fun.

As far as bugs go, spiders are my absolute BANE. I can't stand them!!! Even video game spiders give me the creeps!!! Butterflies and ladybugs are cute, but I can do without the rest.
Horror movies... If it involves bugs (mainly spiders, though), clowns or porcelain dolls, FORGET IT!!! (I freaking LOVE shark movies, though!)
The dark? I have a nightlight in the hall near my bathroom and I have my bedroom door open so I can see it. I have a hard time seeing in the dark, so it's partly for practical reasons.
Zhan said in a skit after that lightbulb blew out that he was probably scared of sudden loud noises... So am I, kid. So am I. (I have painfully sensitive hearing and tinnitus in one ear, and I'm 46.)

Because Yibo has a beautiful light, the complementary is attracted especially during the night when he sleeps. But his brain can't translate what is there and transmit to Yibo the sensation of fear. Who"visits"him most probably looks like insects -from Antares maybe 🤔 Imagine the flies that goes into the light, it's kinda like that 🤗
