- From Bethesda Arkane Austin, the team behind Prey and Dishonored, comes RedFall, a brand new IP, exclusive to Xbox. In the trailer we see a rag-tag team of heroes with special powers fighting off against what look to be vampires with insane powers of their own. These vampires are described as cultists, and our heroes use a merge of guns and powers to fight against them. RedFall releases Summer 2022.

Honestly I’m gonna say it: Arkane is highly overrated. Their only really truly remarkable game in the last decade or so was Dishonored :/

#1- A diverse cast that's not afraid to express themselves by using profanity (this is not a game for your grandma!).
#2 - Mentioning down to earth topics like student loans (Umm like was this made just for me?).
#3 - Representation, Finally are we moving past the 1950's? Are we actually brave enough to view america through the lens of reality? you mean there is more then one shade of people and I don't have to be ashamed of who I am? (I'd like some more please!).

@@zedcunningham6975 You are undermining the vast lore and potential for story that TES series has. People love it because, ironically enough, it is one of the most diverse fantasy worlds out there. But you are undermining all of that for a cinematic trailer about a game with no gameplay.

You are forcing your idealistic pipe dream down onto this game. Making it out to be something that it really isn't. It's not really the revolutionary political game you think it is supposed to be. So far, it is just a cool looking cinematic trailer with people of color, guns, magic, and vampires. Not anything more, or anything less.

The Microsoft show brought the house down and it's about damn time. The 8th generation was the most one sided anemic console cycle I have ever experienced. The Xbox One was underpowered and very little came to it. Microsoft didn't show up to the party until they released the Xbox One X by then...the generation was winding down. This generation we are seeing very stiff competition from both Microsoft and Sony...competition breeds excellence. Welcome back to the fold Microsoft...you have been sorely missed. One thing, the last game in the showcase was interesting but I don't know if it was strong enough to close out the show. That too me should have been Forza and my God was it spectacular in 4K playing on our Series X.
Addendum- We (fiancee and I) love all platforms and genres. I play mostly on the Xbox Series X and she prefers playing on our PS5 *physical. While we have our preferences we love them both. I haven't been this excited since...Microsoft and Sony's throwdown of E3 2007.

If it's suppose to be an immersive shooter, then it has a lot to live up to compared to Prey.
Though I will admit a Cult and Vampire Faction Combo with pseudo-eldritch dark arts vibes is a pretty good start to get things rolling.
But you can tell that this is definitely going for that forced diversity so it's pandering too hard, makes these characters feel bland and stereotypical af.

Looks cool, but not sure if it's a good idea to show a cinematic trailer for a game we know nothing about. It works much better for recurring series such as Elder Scrolls since we already have a general idea of what kind of game it is
before the game is out you will have gameplay and after too so who cares. you can see the game before buy. now they show cinematic and later we will se the gameplay i see no problem.

Arkane usually has a better aesthetic than this. They have style and this seems to have really generic class shooter vibes

Guess maybe it’s because I’m not a big Arkane guy but art style wise it’s pretty unique. Nothing else looks like this. Especially the goofy character proportions
I was expecting that particular and singular aesthetic that Arkane is known for also. I admit, both the style of game and the art design initially left me deeply disappointed. But that has sort of given way to some optimism -- albeit hesitant optimism -- that Arkane will still pull off something special.

Arkane usually makes very serious, thought provoking games, with dull and seemingly hopeless situations involved... and this... is nothing like that.
I highly recommend you play Prey, it's one of my favorite games of the last console generation and probably the best game Arkane has made.
It takes place aboard a corporate owned space station that's swarming with aliens and a member of the board of the corporation (you) has amnesia and has to stop the alien threat.
Cinematic trailer with no gameplay. check. Following trendy marketing. check. Online focused coop shooter. Check again. Hey who knows, this could be great game, doubt it though.
