  • Today I am reviewing the ‪@maccosmetics‬ Hyper Real Serumizer Skin Balancing Hydration Serum and the Hyper Real Skincanvas Balm Moisturizing Cream. These products are Makeup Artist approved to provide a good canvas underneath your makeup (and avoid pilling like many other moisturizers!) Do these products really make your other makeup go on smoother? Who do these products work for? Are they worth the price tag? Find out in this short video!
    Love,
    Jenny aka Foundation Lady
    **EDIT** Just a quick note to mention, that Bobbi Brown has a similar product called the Vitamin Enriched Face Base Priming Moisturizer! It's been out for several years, and is a beloved staple for many makeup wearers/artists! Please forgive my gaffe, and thank you so much to my lovely viewer who reminded me about the product! Glad to see this product available. I don’t wear makeup very often, but when I do, this could be a huge help in the summer. Hopefully they expand for drier skin types!!!!!

    It's great to see Mac coming out with new products, especially ones that do the work for us. With all the different primers out there, they all seem to have a specific job.... it is easy to have too many layers on!! I like to use different primers on specific parts of my face, like a pore reducing one on my nose and a gripping primer on the rest. Then I mix the Elf Liquid Filter in with my foundation. Your skin and makeup looked stunning in this video!!

      Thank you Patti!! 🤗 And I LOVE your "patchwork" primer technique! That really is the BEST way to get perfect canvas for your foundation! (smart lady! ❤️). I got the elf liquid filter a few weeks ago, but haven't tried it yet! Everyone tells me I'm gonna love it. Hope you're having a great day lovely lady! ❤️🌺

    I use the jar cream of this product. I’m 61 but have yet to experience really dry skin except in the winter. I love this. Feels so good on my skin and makes my makeup go on so smooth. I also use “ go pure” as my skin care regimen. Maybe that helps too. Thanks for your review, I’ll consider the Serum.

    My skin is very dry and I live in an arid region, so I need seriously hydrating products. These apparently won’t do it for me. I often use the Mac Strobe cream as a primer before foundation and really like what it does for me.

    • @foundationlady
      @foundationlady  11 місяців тому +2

      Ooooh great tip Ginny! 😃 I've never tried MAC Strobe Cream as a primer! (and I empathize with you on the dry and arid climate! We live in the Northeast now, but we lived for 3 years in Southern California, and as BEAUTIFUL as it was, the dry air really did a number on my skin!❤️) Hope you're having a great day! Thanks for sharing your advice with us! 🤗

I'm just not as technologically savvy as I would like to be!) If it helps, I use an editing software called, "Camtastia" which my husband suggested to me, because its very user-friendly...especially for those of us just starting out. I wish you the absolute BEST of luck!! 🙏🏻❤️😇 Please check in again, and let me know how you are doing! 💕

    I'm still on the search for a holy Grail daytime and nighttime moisturizer and under eye cream for dry mature skin so it was good to know this isn't quite moisturizing enough for dry skin and I can save my money!

    • @foundationlady
      @foundationlady  11 місяців тому +1

      Hi Kathy! ❤️ I hope you and yours have been doing great! 🤗 I don't know if this will help, but I had been having a terrible time finding the right product for my under eye area, and then I saw a dermatologist on UA-cam talking about how using a retinol eye cream underneath the eyes (at night) that you put just a drop of grapeseed oil over, can really make a difference! and boy did it for me! so 3x per week I use the Roc retinol, eye cream, and then just one drop of grapeseed oil (you can get it from Walmart for cheap!) on top. The rest of the days of the week I just use something like a Cetaphil eye cream, and it has really helped my under eye area! Don;t know if it will help, but just thought I'd mention it, in case... Have a beautiful day dear Kathy! 🤗🌺🥰

      Hi there! 🙂 Thanks so much for your sweet comment! 🤗 I was just eyeing the MAC Serum Foundation the other day! Is that something you would be interested in seeing? Also thanks for the great tip on Charlotte Tillbury Magic Cream! I'd heard a lot about that one the past few years, but I didn't realize that it was considered "skin prep" for foundation, so thank you for bringing it to my attention! ❤️ I'll have to look into that one some more! Thanks so much for watching, and I hope you have a fabulous week! ❤️🌺💕

    Have you tried the new foundation from MAC? I'd like to see a review of it, and which products to use with it for a moisturizer and a primer. I have dry skin, and MAC Studio Fix Foundation is too matte for me. I think the new foundation will work better for me because it has a serum in it. I just ordered MAC Prep & Prime Essential Oils because my skin is so dry. I'm 60 years old.

      Hi Britt! 🙂 I’m so happy to tell you that I do have a review of the new MAC foundation! ❤️ And it compares it to the older one too, so hopefully it will be helpful as you decide if you want to try the new one! How come nobody uses sunscreen after putting the serumizer and balm?

    • @foundationlady
      @foundationlady  7 місяців тому +1

      Thank you so much for asking that great question! ❤️ After seeing that, I realized I should've given an explanation in the video for not adding sunscreen to it....so thank you so. much for your feedback!
      Any time I'm testing a "primer-type" product that's supposed to either help nourish skin, or help makeup last longer, I try to do it without using any other added products so I can see how the product performs without any other added elements. My sunscreen in particular is very dewy, so I wanted to make sure that I didn't give a false report based on how the sunscreen performed on top. But in my everyday life, I am an enthusiastic sunscreen user! ❤️🤗 Thanks again for your question, and have a beautiful day! 🌺

    I'm probably going to be the unpopular kid, here, and ask "Why?" Aren't there enough primers and preppers out there, already? If I've done my skin-prep properly and allowed sufficient time for everything to "settle," then my makeup should apply smoothly and look its best. I appreciate MAC bringing us a new product, but is it really all that innovative and life-changing? Certainly not for me and my super-dry skin. The old curmudgeon in me also questions the price point; it seems a bit spendy. For anyone who's tried and loved these products, I'm very glad they work beautifully for you! (I'm not judging, I swear!) We all have different budgets, different skin, and different needs, and for this 60+ year-old woman, these products just don't meet my personal needs. Jenny, you have my sincere gratitude for bringing us new products and honest reviews, and I couldn't adore you more!

    • @foundationlady
      @foundationlady  11 місяців тому +1

      Hi sweet Brynda! 🤗 I don't think you are the "unpopular kid" at all! 😂 I always appreciate your thoughtful comments! ❤️ And you bring up really good points! If you already have a good skincare/ foundation prep routine, then you definitely don't need to spend $$$ on these products!! (I admit, I gulped a bit when I saw the prices, and ultimately decided just to go for the "minis" to try it out.) I was hoping they might be a replacement of sorts for my many serums, primers, magic potions (haha) etc. that I put on before my foundation, and I think it could be, but only if they make a version for those of us with drier/textured skin. Until then, I'll keep slappin' on all my other potions and calling' it a a day! 😂 I hope you are having an absolutely fantastic week my friend! ❤️💕❤️
