@@ASMRctica thank you for responding to comments, it helps us know that you care, also on that note, I love listening to your pajama rambles on Spotify and thank you for uploading the remainders of them a while ago, I have loved listening to them a bunch.
As always, awesome high quality video. You are one of the UA-camrs who don't just pump out cookie cutter videos, and it shows. Nobody knows what to expect when you upload. Keep making these great vids, my ears have grown to rely on them to go to sleep

Incredible video like always you are just the best. I’d love to see more of these videos looking at maps and drawing others while talking about information to do with them it’s so relaxing and interesting.
I don't think I've made it through a single video. I'm genuinely knocked shortly after the video starts. By far one of my favorite triggers I've discovered works really well for my insomnia or general restless nights. ❤❤
The bookstore guys but be used to you buying up theurold atlases by now. "Ah ASMRtica, the map guy! I've got a old stock of South Sudan maps for you somewhere!" XD
I really love to see a video like this with a lot of talking (soecifically soft speaking). Also a very cool and interesting topic, which adds to it as well :) Weirdly enough, I quite enjoyed the zooming in btw, something I also noticed ina few previous videos
Hey salam, So happy to hear you enjoy these soft spoken videos where I talk a lot :) Thanks for a super nice comment, and for your support :) Btw, do you mean the actual seconds when I'm zooming in, or the entire part when the image is zoomed in a lot?
@@ASMRctica I think both! The actual motion of zooming in/out I think is really nice, but also the camera beeing really zoomed in gives a certain focus to it I think. Maybe the best of both worlds would then be zooming in and staying for a bit and then zooming out and zooming in a bit later again. not sure if other people agree but I really like it :)
Definitivamente es el mejor video de ASMR que he escuchado, hasta me hizo querer saber más de mapas 🍂 Tu voz me gustó, perfecto para este tipo de videos
This is a great video! I used to work in GIS, specifically using digital elevation models and mapping water (though streams, and not lakes) so I'm all about some maps and some water! I stayed awake longer than I should have just to keep watching. I will say that I fell asleep eventually but was woken up to some very loud ads at the end. Not sure if that was UA-cam forcing that, but thought you might want to know. Thanks for the great content!
About the lake Issyk Kul,it belongs to Kyrgyzstan, and the city Frunze was renamed to Bishkek(now),but not Alma-Ata(it is located in Kazakhstan).Tysm for this amazing video,I guess it’s really difficult to work with old maps, but it’s thrilling ✨
Relaxing and interesting as always! One thing I noticed: I think the unit for the area of the lakes is miles squared, not metres. Keep up the great work!
This is pretty usual for big lakes and stuff. km2 to m2 is 1:1000000 after all, so it's only logical. Edit: Just came to the m2 part of the video. Now I understand... Weird.
I think the map what you used to find Lake Balaton was a German or Austrian one. They call Balaton plattensee. Yes, Budapest was made from 3 different cities. Buda, Pest, and Óbuda.
Thanks for the feedback :) Yes maybe they used some names in German in this atlas. So cool there used to be 3 different cities! I olny knew about the Buda and Pest parts before.
The partition of Korea tells me this is more likely a 1985 map along with clues such as Finland and Australia being independent countries, as well as the Soviet Union existing.
I don't know if others have requested or not or if you have already done it and I overlooked. But could you do a video of just going over your playist Part and tapping the ipad?
yoreally nice video 9/10 could you do me the favor to somtimes get the camera higher so that we see the full map in such videos then it probably would be a 10/10
Thanks for the feedback! I'm happy with 9/10 too Haha. My idea was to have all text visible and I didn't want to zoom in and out several times througout the video :)
I have a question: What is your first language cause honestly it in my opinion, it doesn't seem like English is your first. I'm just curious. Btw your videos are really soothing and calming. I love them.❤
Great video idea. I believe you have an older video about the Great Lakes which was fascinating. Also people go watch the videos he mentions in the beginning! They’re great but their view count is disproportionately lower than the others.
In Scotland ASMR just does not work with standard US accents. (Though I could listen to Howard Finnester all day every day.) So this keeps me from the zed pills like little else. Thank you.

Keep it up man
Lake Balaton was called (in Deutsch) Plattensee. It looks similar on the map you have - you can definitely make out the "atten" part.
I wonder if these atlas’ were also in use in Norway, as it was the Sweden-Norway Union in 1885.
Hmm Interesting thought! :) But my guess would be that there were atlases in Norwegian too by this time, there were still 2 different languages.
The partition of Korea tells me this is more likely a 1985 map along with clues such as Finland and Australia being independent countries, as well as the Soviet Union existing.

Square metres? Square miles I think!

can you make a video like how your intro is?
I know this is a month old but lough neagh is pronounced Lock Neh(like a horse)
how can this atlas be from 1885, if the soviet union still didn't exist then?
two seperate atlases, the one with the map is older
If the evolution of humans existed here we'd all be black, we were created, we didn't evolve.
