This pageant I believe was held November 1993 as Miss Universe was set to be in Manila at the time on May 1994. grabe lang nuh? little did we know that our 3rd Filipina Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach was just 4 years old nun then Catriona Gray was just 4 months old. 👑❤

The way the contestants walked during the evening gown segment is just absolutely disgusting. No wonder hardly any Filipinas excelled in Miss Universe and Miss World from the 90s until 2010. It's a good thing Mrs. Araneta has learned to adapt with the changing times as most pageants now prefer to project a runway model style of walking for their evening gown competitions. Hindi na uso ang parang sagala sa Flores de Mayo na lakad sa totoo lang.

Starting mid 1990s kasi the Miss World claimed they are also the most prestigious beauty contest in the planet and they made it clear to national directors na Hindi sila mag aacept ng delegate who is a runner up. Miss World demands the delegate must be a national winner, so to solve this many countries including the Philippines crowned several winners in national pageants, claiming they are "equal" daw sa rank. But in reality the best girl is sent in Miss universe

Apa is trying to keep the conversation casual but you can see the nerves of some of the candidates shows too much some looks trying hard which comes out very robotic. Yung iba parang gusto tapusin kaagad yung interview.
caroline subijano deserved the best in evening gown award because her walk and projection were not as funny as the others. abbygale arenas looked splendid in her evening gown and with her hair kept in a bun.
Abigail Arenas was already here? but she didn't win any major title that year. Instead she joined again after 3 years and won the Bb. Pilipinas Universe title in 1997.
