The Korean general public and kpopfans are not accepting of coed groups. They have 0 wins after 7 years but have just left Korea for their 5th world tour. They also dont really act like typical.idols. they are very open and honest about their opinions and talk about stuff most idols dont. They are held to a different standard cause its mostly Koreans having problems with more provocative things but Korea doesn't pay attention to them much. The common joke abt this choreo is that "this is how Koreans saw Bite Me". Korean fans are intense when it comes to their idols interacting with girls, some more than others bc for some reason Engenes were wild (I'm a Fantasy (SF9 Fan) and wen they danced with women for their Jealous performance in Kingdom nobody gave a f). But Koreans don't really care about KARD, so there's no controversy regarding this dance, their bigger overseas fandoms loved it and lost it during the tour performances. Plus this is nothing new for them, they've been dancing in pairs and doing spicy moves since predebut!
