As aperson who has spent thousands of hours at this track marshaling, driving and just spectating events this still does not feel real... Thank you for the onboard!
Love how twisty this stage is, and that the circuit seemingly vanishes into the forest. Least Mickey Mousey of the Mickey Mouse stages we've had this year, too.
Can someone explain how clutch is used in those cars? Seems to use it together with handbrake, but from this video it seems like those actions aren't done at the same time. Maybe the cameras aren't synced perfectly, then it makes sense.
In these cars clutching in is not needed to use the handbrake. Use of handbrake automatically disconnects the rear drive. Clutch is only used in tight hairpins to prevent the engine from stalling when wheels are turning slowly
@@krzych91krk clutch is also used in hairpins as a "clutch kick" sometimes to get a bit more rotation or keep the engine from bogging down if particularly slow
They only use the clutch when putting in first gear and when they have to use the handbrake. It's almost like driving a SAAB 96 V4 (2-stroke) when you only use the clutch when first gear is engaged. When driving on the freewheel, no clutch is needed when shifting to 2nd, 3rd and 4th and down to second. 😎👍
Dear FIA WRC...Now, please give to us Ott Tänak's SS14 onboard- as you any how coudln't wipe the accident situation under carpet and wiewers video is available for all interested people. So please, don't hide organizers black and bring it out. Be fair
@@blaaahization thanks for the reply.. was confused since he is using sequencial gear box. I read that it is still needed for starting or when a heavy turn
It is a sequential. You use the clutch to get the car moving in first gear and otherwise you won't need it unless you're doing a clutch kick. Shifting works by using the lever closest to the steering wheel. Pulling the lever shifts up, pushing the lever shifts down. Most race cars either use sequential or manual gearboxes. Most modern race cars with sequential gearboxes have paddles on the steering wheel to shift gears, however, the current regulations don't allow Rally1 cars to use them.
You hear a lot of gear whining, because of the straight cut gears used in racecars. It's obviously only heard from the inside of the car, since the exhaust noise way louder on the outside.
The original Rally Australia (in Perth, Western Australia) during the early 1990's started the super-special stage as a highlight of the whole rally... the super-special was held in Langley Park which was a huge open park set right between the middle of the city and the Swan River ... the stage was a figure-8 with a huge jump / tunnel at the crossover and the city business district as a backdrop ... two cars started the stage together (in separate lanes) and the start and stop was on the main tarmac road that ran parallel the river... they then turned right into the park, completed the figure 8 and then exited back onto the tarmac road and crossed the finish line ... a great stage and a great rally.

Thank you for helping our sport!
i love the new onboard layout, it doesn’t cycle between the 2 cameras anymore, and we also get the pedalcam
Cool that they used the Rallycross track.
Nice. Thanks for including the pedal cam. Can we also get SS3, Martins SESKS first WRC stage win?
Please one onboard stage with Sesks ... gravel ... Thx 😊
Kalle putting all the Porsche Cup mileage under that stage winning time like a boss 😎
Dang KR driving in Smooth af 👍👌 GL Kalle in Rally Finland and hope Kalle will take hes 1st Victory ever in Rally 🇫🇮 👍

that's what I wanted to ask 👍🏻

nice driving, good job
See you in Finland - Ruuhimäki
Easy to notice how he didn't push until the 2nd lap when he had the knowledge of the stage
and maybe save some tyres, not sure tho
Although it'd be cool to see Kalle in an F1 car one day, it wouldn't be a great to watch as this.
can we get onboard replays of WRC Latvia last two days?
because those beautiful ttacks were not showing on Tv
Why no SSS in EA Sprts WRC?
it is on Richard Burns Rally

What's the pedal on the left? And what's that second gear stick??
The pedal to the left is clutch. The “other gear stick” is actually the handbrake
What's the purpose of using the clutch during tight corners? Does it help with accelerating from slower speeds or something like that?
Stop the car from stalling.
Exactly. Used so that the engine is in the power band on corner exit. The car is still moving fast enough where stalling is generally not an issue.
What''s the use of the 3rd foot pedal?
Clutch

Hes just like a robot right there...
This track was built for extreem speeds, therefore it looks like not going full speed!
So how does this WRC car gearbox actually work?
I am confused right now...

Rally Poland had better special stages
Even rally Portugal had better special stages than rally poland.

Yeah, the stupid arena they run how many times and many stages twice... how interesting 😂
