    In this tutorial, you will learn how to make glittery Beaded Crystal Balls using only Potomac crystal bicones and two needles. These Beaded Crystal Balls can be used in all sorts of jewelry projects and are sure to add some sparkle to your creations!
    1. Gather up your Potomac Crystal Bicones, earwires and a thread burner. Attach two size 10 needles to twenty-four inches of thread (one on each end). Keep the needles to the right and left to avoid getting mixed up.
    2. Put on five beads with the right hand needle. Go back through the last bead with the left needle to form a circle. Pick up four more beads with your right needle, go back through the last bead again with the left needle, pull tight and then bring the left needle through the bead beside the one you just went through. Then pick up three beads with the right needle, sew back through to make a circle with the left needle. Repeat the process two more times.
    3. Follow along with Allie in the Beaded Crystal Balls tutorial to see how to bring the beads together to
    form the beads into a ball. Stick a headpin through the middle of the beads to add an earwire.
    Making your own beaded crystal balls is easier than you might think, and once you get the hang of it you'll be hooked! They make beautiful little earrings, perfect for a special night out, but you can also use them to make all sorts of other jewelry.
    Enjoy using this jewelry-making bead tutorial video to help you become a more creative and happier beader!

    I’ve watched several times and I figured out that you’re switching the left and right needles ? So the left needle becomes the right needle and vice versa?

    Amazing! How did you ever think of this? Do you have the instructions written anywhere so I can keep track of the threes and twos?

    It is so nice but I want to know if it is a nylon thread

    sorry to say that i was confused by the left and right needle. Can you colour your thread instead of using needle? Thank you.

    Thanks for the instructions, I love the finished product, but get confused with two needles, and damage my fingers on the extra point which I lose track of. Is there a way of doing this bead without having two ends? Grateful.

      Hi Janis, if you are very familiar with right angle weave and understand how to do that with one needle, then you could try this with one needle. I use two needles because it's so much easier to do with two needles. I just stick the one I'm not using, into the bead mat until I need to swap over. Maybe try some other less complicated two needle projects first, until you get used to the process.

    How do you determine whether you need to go through 3 beads or two?

    Let me save you some time. If you are adding 4 ore beads ten pick up 3 beads then pick up the 4th bead an cross ways with it. It does the same thing. Thought I would help

    Hi. 6 months ago I asked how you determine whether you need to go through 3 beads or 2 and there is no response. Someone else (phyl capp) asked the same question, too.

    • @Potomacbeadco
      @Potomacbeadco  10 років тому +1

      Sorry we get hundreds of comments each week, and don't have the time to respond to all of them. We do not currently have a chart that tracks the 3s/2s, but we would recommend simply pausing the video as you go through making the bead step by step, and you can also write down the pattern as you listen as well for future reference.

    Are there written instructions? Those beads have far too sparkle to make sense of what you've put together. It's just a speaking mass.

    • @Potomacbeadco
      @Potomacbeadco  7 років тому

      Sorry we don't have written instructions for this particular pattern yet, but are adding a few dozen each month for our 1,000+ patterns to the website.

    how would you do this in ombre

    • @Potomacbeadco
      @Potomacbeadco  4 роки тому

      Good question! Have a play with colours and see where the shapes flow, then you can try one for real. At least these are small and easy to undo and try again. 😃

    It would be really nice if you had closed caption, for those of us who can't hear. Would love to have pattern if possible. Thank you.

    • @Potomacbeadco
      @Potomacbeadco  7 років тому

      There is an automatic closed caption option with nearly all UA-cam videos... look to the bottom right under settings.

    • @janaistrop9938
      @janaistrop9938 7 років тому

      I did, that's how I turn them on, it wasn't there. Some of them don't have the closed caption symbol to be able to turn on. Thanks for answering me any way. Have a great day
      !

    I noticed that your needles switch sides....

    • @Potomacbeadco
      @Potomacbeadco  4 роки тому

      Yes, that's why we use two needles, we criss-cross through the common bead.
      Watch this one and it will become clearer why we use two needles. It gives a more even tension too.

    It would have been better to make this using a dark bead mat as a background.
