The finger style grip on the AlienBees is built into the body of the flash, so I don’t know of any way to change the flash unit itself. Thanks for your video! I need to do the opposite of what you did here. I need to change my Bowens mount adapter to fit my alien bees. Any advice on how to proceed?
You may be able to just cut down the top of the Bowen’s adapter, the portion that holds the three squares. You’ll want to measure your diameter to make sure your Alien Bees “fingers” will grab on to it though.

Hello... have you done the opposite? adapting bowens mount soft boxes to a white lighting / alien bee flash unit?
I have not. Based on the Bowen’s mounts I’ve seen, I feel one would need more tools, and metal experience than I possess.
