12:20 that's exactly where they are though, there is a scene at 4:10 where you can see them falling down and then right after Winter is in that pink set which is supposed to look like the inside of the fish's belly.
i like your interpretation of them having better things to do than kwangya. it's refreshing to see them not being tied to that world even though i really like their lore.

I think they have been swallowed by the beta fish and as u can see in winter's part with all the pink aesthetic and some pink pearls. And lastly i also noticed one scene where i think they are in the eye of the fish watching where they're headed to next.
