I think the ploy to open with VK and rohit is to not slowdown in middle overs, whenever kohli puts himself at no.3 he will become an automatic anchor and hence the runrate slows down..and middle overs costed india in 2022.. i might be wrong but that would be the reason

In my view , the problem with Shadab and Shaheen , and also some more players in the Pak team is that they are taking their place for granted. Unhe pata h replace honge nahi , the ego that no other better player is available to replace me in the Pak team while also playing leagues all around the world is what is causing this issue.

They need to take a break , a good solid break. Stop playing every game first of all .
Remove the insecurity that if I don't play someone else will replace me instantly and I won't be able to come back.
Do self analysis , recover their bodies and practice playing longer format of the game.
No matter how much cricket develops , at the end of the day it's an endurance sport that builds the technique by proper match practice. As they say go back to the basics at the time of turmoil .
Go back to test cricket or first class cricket, grind hard.
Shaheen will be back in form once he does this , Shadab I don't think so . he's simply not interested.

Pakistan needed to chase in less than 14 overs because they needed to increase their net runrate massively, so that in case, Pakistan tie with the USA with 4 points, they can go ahead on nrr. India has already won 2 out of 2, so they didn't need to chase it early, plus the three early wickets made it impossible for them to go for the big shots, given all of this, Surya and Dube chased it brilliantly on perhaps the worst batting pitch in the history of t20.

About Nassau County stadium...
There have been a lot of issues with the pitch... it's actually hell for batsmen. But it's true, no matter how the pitch is, batsmen should welcome this warmly. You can't get flat pitches everywhere.....it's a test for batsmen as well......., but the real problem was not the pitch but the poor outfield. The outfield of Nassau Stadium was pathetic, and because of this outfield, even good shots didn't result in deserving runs. due to the heavy outfield, most outfield fielders looked in dilemma of getting injuries.
USA played well on this ground...their bowlers did a really great job, and so most bowlers from all the teams literally dominated on New York's pitch. But I still believe that USA wouldn't perform the same in the West Indies in super 8 ( if they reach) . It's a real challenge for them to prove themselves there.

We have been talking about the USA for a while. I have found USA players as very disciplined, well coached and hard working. They don't usually make rookie mistakes and can give any team run for the money on their good day.
