      Zyild Matter of fact...current research shows that in early childhood trauma, our brains are permanently damaged. This can be shown on scans...the amygdala's size is altered, and the hippocampus as well. These are the regions that control fear and emotions. Depression, then, is truly a disease and whomever said this was "a death by suicide and not a killing of himself" was so right. We can almost prove this, because the brains of abused kids are shown to be structurally messed up.

      Same. They were one of the reasons I shifted from listening to pop as a kid and instead getting into rock/alternative as a preteen. Even though I stopped listening to them during highschool, I still credit their music for introducing me to other genres and prompting me to explore tons of different music.

      Andy Mejia LP were a band everyone jumped on the band wagon of but not me I always thought their albums sucked. I wonder if the lack of critical success over the years is what pushed him over the edge. Sad he took his life. The only LP song I listened to was What I've Done but he has a few good songs. Their albums couldnt hold a candle to musicans like Trent Reznor's NIN tho.

Two years ago I was hospitalized on and off for 9 months for severe depression along two suicide attempts. Depression is a terrible illness. Chester's story is extremely close to my heart and he didn't deserve to die. He was an amazing man. Suicide is something not talked about enough until it happens and that needs to change. Rest in the sweetest peace Chester. We will always love you.

      A person does not resort to suicide from one moment to another. When that person is surrounded and supported by friends and family and has children who love him, then there is no reason to even THINK of committing suicide . Chris Cornell and Chester Bennington had too much reason to live,they had good days and they had bad days,like everyone else. They died suddenly and unexpected, no signs of suicidal tendencies, no suicide notes, let alone a credible reason. Even though there are more indications that they were killed,we were told by the mainstream media that two succesful rockstars committed suicide in the happiest days of their lives.The killers own the mainstream media.

      DefiantOne184 I really don't think that affected him. Linkin Park has changed their sound so much so them getting hate on changing up their music really wasn't something new. This video failed to mention it as most do, but Chester was also the godfather to Chris and Vicki Cornell's kids. I feel like that was the biggest blow to him (hence why he died on Chris' birthday), but he was probably so torn up about Chris' death the scrutinizing could have gotten to him because he was already in a bad place.

    • @RealTalkWithSSG
      @RealTalkWithSSG 6 років тому +58

      No, that surely hurt him, I mean, some of the tweets/backlash were outright disgusting, but LP has probably been criticised before, musicians being criticised isn't something new at all. I think Chris Cornell's death broke him completely, he couldn't bear to lose him; no wonder he killed himself on Chris's birthday, he was drunk and alone in his home. Also, I love the new album; if we think practically, it's quite normal for a 41 year old singer to not want to scream into the mike anymore, as he did at 20-22. Rock music is energy consuming, and age slows people down, right? Regular people lose their shit at 40, and these guys are touring constantly, composing songs and what not. It's really tragic what happened. I will miss him dearly. :'(

      AuroraS 92 Good post. I was abused (sexually) as a young child but it was buried in my psyche and I was successful in my life...until age 40. You cannot run from the pain forever, and I understand and empathize with his torment. I am shattered when abuse steals the lives of people we love. I wonder sometimes if I am strong enough to overcome my past.

    • @TheShiningEnergy
      @TheShiningEnergy 6 років тому +20

      I know this sounds mean, but i wish that that was pointed out so fans would feel like crap for dissing on the fact that LP switched genres, and then Chester killed himself. i mean, we had no idea what Chester was going through, and we just HAD to lay into him like that for going to a more poppy sounding sound rather than sticking with the Rock/Rap sound? People are disgusting. most likely, people KNEW he had depression. to rip into him for changing a thing like the GENRE OF MUSIC when depression is SO MUCH MORE IMPORTANT, is really petty. Deal with the things that really matter in life, people. like the demons people are facing. be helpful.

He doesn't play instruments except the bag pipe, he can't sing, his screams sound more like sick dogs being buttfucked than actual screams, all of his songs are about the same fucking thing, and his lyrics are so simple and unremarkable that it reads like a 9th graders poetry day homework.

    I was in the deepest of the deep recently. I know what he was partially experiencing. It had to have been severe derealization. “Confusing what is real” - Crawling. And “I’ve become so numb”. This is definitely depression and DP/DR. You feel so, incredibly lonely, numb. It feels like it’s own high that floods your mind and it’s all you can think about. It’s actual torture and makes you wonder what’s real and what’s not. Feels like you’re living a nightmare. I’ve fought out of it and I’m so, so happy again, I’m myself. During that time though, when I was listening to hybrid theory, I felt so incredibly connected to Chester on a whole different level. I can’t even feel that connection now that I’m out of it.
