I just love the no-nonsense approach that the LTA has taken to build this line: building it fully elevated, without any overcomplicated (and thus expensive) tunnels deep below ground. This will also be one of the most accessible line of the system, having really short walking times to reach the platforms. In the rest of the world people are getting increasingly dumber and pushing for transit projects to be built underground, pumping up the costs massively. There's no joy to descend tens of meters below ground to take a metro in a fully dark tunnel and re-escalate other tens of meters. And it's OKAY for these very useful transit projects to take up land, to be visible, and we should celebrate them! why should we fight to bury them deep underground?? Just for the sake of some "noise"? (which becomes negligible after the installation of sound barriers btw) And don't even get me started on "visual pollution"!😒🙄
Looking forward to the completion of this line!!😁😁❤️

cringe and i hate you. underground is better and singapore is a small country. this is why everything is better. ofc overground has nice view but they need to build hdb blocks. nonsense. underground is also faster. Complete BS. grow up.

Based on pass experiences, After so many tests, still have major breakdowns. Look at the recent disruption at TEL, a single train signal fault (or track fault some says) @ Woodlands sector can cause almost entire line to go down... Why??

Pass experience as commuter or just blabbering around?

Nothing will be squeaky clean just be happy we are getting services with better availability.

Cmon. Tel is still only 4 years old. Do you really think it can match the reliability of the 36 year old north south line?

Er... If the train fails, take a bus then? Singapore is so interconnected that you shouldn't be depending on just the train to get you around.
Also, I find this self-entitlement of Singaporeans pretty funny considering I was trapped on a train for 3 hours while travelling in Sydney, and couldn't even leave because it was stopped in the middle of nowhere surrounded by forests and no lights. In Singapore, if the train gets stopped, the operators personally lead you to the next station where you can switch to a bus or taxi. Heck, they even make the bus trips free! Singapore's public transport is already one of the most developed ones in the world, yet a few hours of delay can make people lose their minds. Ridiculous.
