Meet the Smithfield Feedlot Family

Meet Don & Barb Madden, from Smithfield Feedlot, situated in Proston QLD. Most Australian feedlots are owned and run by Aussie farming families. In this short video Don & Barb, show you around their feedlot, introducing you to the people who work there, and give you a taste of what it is like to live and work on a feedlot in Australia. They also candidly discuss the challenges and advantages of bringing up children in the bush.
This video is part of a two part series that will be filmed at Smithfield. This video focuses on introducing the family and also the Summer feedlot activities, while the second part of the series (to be released in coming months) will take you through the Winter activites at Smithfield Feedlot.
We hope that this video will provide you with some insight into the daily happenings at an Australian Cattle Feedlot and shed some light on how grain fed beef is produced in this country and the farming families behind it.
