That’s pretty cool. I think it’d be sweet if they made TVs with this tech so when you’re not using it, it can blend into the wall behind it. That’s assuming the wall is painted white.
Love the idea and technology of this but I’m really struggling to see any effect change. I’d like to see a proper with and without finished picture. (As for the trade up program, how many more months are they going to pretend that it’s going to ‘finish’). Don’t get me wrong, I love rotolight and have many of their lights but stop dangling a carrot and just advertise it as a full time trade up program).
B ((( Rotolight / Sony Pocket Flash Important Information ))) Hello for those individuals that are thinking about purchasing the NEO PRO and the AEOS PRO lights. You need to be aware that these lights are only half the power of a Standard pocket flash. I did a thorough test on these lights with my Seckonic Light Meter for absolute accuracy. I set the AEOS Pro & a on Camera Flash 6 feet from my light meter. I then set my ISO at 500 I set the shutter speed at 250th of a second and my aperture at 2.8 . Using Flash at max power with the AEOS Pro then adjusting my on Camera Flash to match the exact same Power outage as the AEOS Pro . And found that the AEOS Pro was half the power of a 80 W. Pocket flash / on Camera Flash. Please understand what I am saying it is extremely important for you to know that these lights are only have to power of an on camera flash. Half the power that’s it. If you would like to know more I have placed a comment below this one to give you much more information if you are truly interested.
It will still soften shadows, a larger modifier of some kind like a soft box would look more flattering but it still seems useful and really cool tech. He demonstrates its use cases pretty well in the video.
The light spread changes quite a bit, from a 60 degree beam-angle all the way to a 140 degree beam-angle. ( you lose 2 stops of light when set to 140 degree beam-angle )
An expensive bucket. I like the technology and hope we get it on any other lighting system than Rotolight. I'll never buy another product from those clowns.
it's a neat trick, but rotolights have absolutely pathetic light output. massive waste of money. their flash mode is outperformed by any xenon flash on the market.
Pretty cool Lok! I just want the diffuser.

That is really clever! Great video Lok 👍
That's amazing!
Oh man.. that's a game changer!
Cool tech!

Please compare the Lux with godox
That's cool in theory but if the diffuser is the same size as the original light source then i don't really see the usage.

imagine you can't use any of your bowens mount modifiers you spent years acquiring! 🤑
