They shall be really thankful to each other. Marcella's immense talent inspired Siobhan to become a better singer and writer, play instruments, etc, and she became quite a musician herself. On the other side, Siobhan pushed Marcella to stardom and she got recognized as a musician. Their solo stuff is great, but all the collaboration stuff between them two is amazing.
They complimented each other beautifully, shame we only got 2 albums with that lineup before personal issues got in the way. As they say, nothing can kill you faster than success.
Thanks so much for the Shakespears Sister TOTP interview. As a massive SS fan an collector, (I have six SS collection videos in my UA-cam channel) I’m so happy to see this new interview. I was hoping both ladies were in the same room discussing Stay. I hope they record a new album together.
Lovely to hear that Siobhan enjoyed her role, she camped it up beautifully, amazing facial expressions and body language, and it all worked with the B movie vibe. Marcellas singing is superb. True magic.
Even crazier in that it was all physical copies sold across 3 formats, no digital downloads back then, everyone had to go out and actually buy it. Early 90s was a good time for catchy and fun number 1's, before Britpop.
I remember vividly when the stay video was on TV and me and my mum sat by the TV in silence. It had such a big effect on me, just like Nirvana or Michael Jacksons thriller. It realy was a big deal. I havnt felt like that in a long time
I always remember this video on being ITV's The Chart Show and loving it, and despite not understanding the themes even then I knew this song was kinda epic. Such a memorable and unique music video combined with timeless, powerful vocals. The 90's were a great decade to grow up in.
Some of the most famous artists weren't particularly great singers with impeccable voices. You completely miss the point with bollocks observations like that
@@Soul_of_a_Robot “Weren’t particularly great…” understate much? I’m not missing some deep, artsy ‘point’ here, her vocals are trash. I’d much rather focus on actual talent.

Yes, the collaboration between those two certainly worked musically and aesthetically for a time.
I so hope for a new Shakespears Sister album, these two are amazing.

love your videos Robert, you're a true SS fan.
Brilliant 💫
Both of them were total bad assess. 100% good stuff. "Stay" still makes me tear up.

You are a god. Marcy asked and you provide. Good job Normski. All
Of us in North America thank you.
My absolute pleasure!
8 weeks at number was an amazing time ⌚ Saying that this was the time of great number 1s that held the spot for so many weeks.
Even crazier in that it was all physical copies sold across 3 formats, no digital downloads back then, everyone had to go out and actually buy it. Early 90s was a good time for catchy and fun number 1's, before Britpop.
Unlike Bryan Adams' paint-by-numbers manipulative Costner movie tie-in, I was happy for every week SS's goth camp classic was at the top spot.
Siobhan is class👍✊👌
Nice to see the top of the pops clip at the end as this is from one of the editions that wasn't repeated on the recent BBC Four showings.

It brings me back to seeing it on Irish tv as a child, made a big impression- I thought Marcy was beautiful and Siobhan was scary :)
Brilliant. I hope the 90s interview at 1:00 gets released in full one day
Amazing footage of two icons and a legendary song. Thank you for sharing this.
30 years later, Siobhan is still the hottest chick ever to me. This unbeliably acting is irresistable...
Her eyes could write a book. They say so much.

Great interview, great song!!
Thank you for the upload, Normski 🙏
I love the song brilliant ❤❤xx
Wow, it's amazing how good partnerships come about isn't it.
And 'STAY' was, and still is a superb combination of a song. 👍
All their songs are good
Thanks 4 video
Legends 🙌
4:46 shivers. This was the era when they had to sing live or go home.
Yes exactly
Amazing ❤😊
Dave is a genius when you also know that he was the leader of the Veryphonics too!

1992 was marked with horrible crime in December 😂😂😂😂😂
Why does everyone completely ignore the FACT, that Siobhan sounds like a wounded alley-cat when she “sings?”
I don't think she does. I think she had a very grim and grounded presence that added to the contrast and made the drama even deeper.
