Dear Citycreed,
This song (and your song Home) happen to mean a lot to me during my hard time. I have moved to the UK for 1 year, and my time here is really shitty. Even I graduated my master course with the highest grade out of my whole course cohort, I still find it really tough here in the UK. I don't have money so I have to work 12 hours a day, 5 days a week to survive (yeah I did work more hours than I am legally allowed to). And life's a joke, it's already shitty then worst things still can happen. My father passed away in November 2023. I flew back to my home country for the funeral, and come back to the UK 2 weeks after that. When I came back, I kept listening to this song and Home. I feel like missing home so much, I miss my family, my friend, my good life there, good job, being a cool person,... I miss everything. In the UK, a foreign country, I feel like I am a boring asian man, fuck - the 60 hours part-time job sucks, it's really hard to apply for a real job even tho I own an outstanding degree, and I am not a cool guy anymore. But your songs gave me strength, the strength to face all the things people can say - to make the decision that I am coming back to my home country. My flight is on 24 January, I'm really coming back and now I'm truly happy. I don't have to be a restaurant slave 60 hours a week and do drugs to keep me sane anymore.
