    Fort Mac will get -40 and colder in February,when I was there in 08 we had to shut down a couple nights cause it was close to -50 C,the company policy was not to operate the equipment below -40 to cut down on breakage from the cold

    thanks. I finally found a complete dyno sheet from CAT for the ACERT C32. This is the motor from the D11T, not the D11R or N. It makes 935 gross hp and 4417 ft/lb of torque

  • @bumoffhtestreet
    @bumoffhtestreet 14 років тому

    @SecularTechnology 935 GROSS HP, 850 NET HP. The 850 rating is after the flywheel, whereas the gross rating is before. Flywheels, torque converters, etc. eat up a lot of power. BTW, Cat offers multiple configurations of the C32, ranging form the 935 HP one in the D11 to a 1350 HP one used in some of the large mining trucks. Again we're talking gross hp here.

    D-11 You sure can hear that 3500 series Cat motor sound just like they bogging down but you watch and the track's are spinning..
    I notice that on our 1st D-11 you think the motor need's more power but if it spinning it's track's it doing it's job..

    @SecularTechnology johnnycagetheboss was talking about torque to the ground, which takes into account gear reductio/torque multiplication. Of course it doesnt make 220,000 ft/lb at the flywheel. In point of fact, the C32 makes 4417 ft/lb of torque. You might want to research things a little more carefully before you start correcting people. Somewhere on its website, CAT has a complete spec sheet (HP and torque) for all variants of the C32. Check it out.

    @joerock00 You don't need a license to operate this equipment. But they do have schools that will teach you how to run heavy equipment.

  • @bumoffhtestreet
    @bumoffhtestreet 15 років тому

    Anyone know how much torque the D11 makes?? Its useless to give the hp, because a low-geared tractor relies on torque to get the job done.

    Jobs in Nova Scotia??? Not too many good jobs around here. That is why most Maritimer have to pack up and head out west to Alberta. Out there jobs are plentiful and the money is good. Nova Scotia just a nice place to live after you retire.
