Pikachu is not only a classic, but also the kind of creature that anyone would like to have as a buddy. Also, I love Ryan Reynolds’ portrayal of Pikachu from the live action movie.
My boy Infernape is too low on the list. He should be atleast top 20, if not top 10. His rage moment vs Paul is still one of the hypest moment of Pokemon.
Gen 1 taking more than 1/4 of the spots and yet still seeming underrepresented. Only 1 of the Legendary Birds? No Mr. Mime? Eggecutor? Chancy? Voltorb? Staryu? Onix? Ekans? Plenty of others could have easily made the list. Then again, it was cool to see that the originals clumped pretty heavily in the top end, with more than half of the top ten being Gen 1 Pokémon, and, even if they'd only done a top 50, instead of 100, we'd have only lost 9 of the 27 mentioned. Pokémon has always struggled with diminishing returns. As they add more, it's a lot harder for any of them to stand out. If you count all the Gen 1 and 2 Pokémon, you get nearly half the entire list, though that's far less than a quarter of the national Pokédex.
@@gamet2004 I know, not necessarily the most powerful, nor the most cool, but still, they aren't exactly without significance. Mr. Mime is, perhaps, iconic for many of the wrong reasons, but he's also the first Pokémon you can trade an NPC for in the original game. Chancy is a fixture at Pokémon Centers throughout the anime, and for that, deserves at least some consideration, as well. Not all my suggestions definitely should make the list, but the point is that there are a bunch of Gen 1 Pokémon that are at least worth considering over some of the less notable Pokémon on this list.

Kinda funny how after 90 they just start skipping giving entries proper narration. Said Pokemon skimmed over are the ones that are NOT Gen 1, with few exceptions.
Any Watch Mojo top 100 video follows that format. They'll give a strong narration for the first several, to set the tone and list expectations, list most of the middle section with narration only when there's something special to say or when there's been a long stretch of just listing things, and then they finish off with an explanation of all the top ones. Otherwise, the video would be nearly 3 times as long.

Honorable Mentions: *Rhyperior -My preferred Rhydon since this evolution has access to Solid Rock, making super effective moves only half as effective. *Copperajah -We finally got another elephant that isn't the phanpy line. Plus, it can also have access to Heavy Metal as a hidden ability, which doubles the user's weight. And Copperajah weighs over half a ton, so it gets a lot of mileage out of heavy slam and heat crash. *Darmanitan -Sheer brute strength with Sheer Force as it's standard ability. And if the fire-type Unovan variant isn't your thing, there's it's ice-type Galarian form. And the Galarian's Zen Mode is an angry snowman. Becoming the first fire/ice-type. *Golisopod -The unholy alliance of Emergency Exit and First impression. I get a lot out of that combo plus having it hold an eject button. *Scrafty -It's the mohawk that gets me *Victini *Oranguru -This is an ideal pokemon for double battles due to it's signature move, Instruct. Which orders the target to use it's most recently used move. Add that into account with Orangutu's access to telepathy, which prevents it from taking damage from your allies' attacks. *Noivern -A very fast bat wyvern that made my Kalos team.
