Sort of! I’d say think of a 4 string bass, but add 2 lower strings and 4 higher strings. Tuning goes F#-B-(EADG)-C-F-Bb-Eb with the brackets being standard 4 string bass strings.

It is a pretty awesome instrument! The lowest string is 2 strings lower than standard bass. For example, on a 5 string you have the lower B string, and on mine it goes a string lower to F#. I prefer having the higher range so mine is tuned F# B E A D G C F Bb Eb. Some people choose to go a string lower yet, which is a C#. It requires ~.200 gauge strings depending on scale lengthen and preferred tension and some serious amplification to use properly at a louder volume.
What scale, action, and tension do these strings have? Is it generally worth it to play such an instrument through a bass amp or a guitar amp since some frequencies may be lost? Let's say hypothetically I have a 37'' to 32.5'' multiscale tuned from G#0 to E4, how different should the tension be? Is 45 to 32 pounds respectively a reasonable ratio? How hard would it be to press down these strings?
i have a feeling most guitarists would give you a nasty side eye if you walked into a room with that, but regardless, loved the video sounds like the journey home from a long adventure. also please tell me what the chords are

Alex Thorpe actually it’s called a Starshine 10 string bass. Could you tell me how to get all new strings for my bass? I went to Kalium’s website, but I don’t know what to get. Lol
Jake Downing that’s the string set I got. Well, last time I ordered strings the lowest was a .174 in the set but close enough. This is a pretty cheap made in China bass as well, it has some annoying quirks but it’s definitely playable. Word of warning when tuning the high E, take your time. Tune it up to an octave below, let it sit for 10-15 minutes. Tune it up another full tone and let it sit. A .009 tuned to Eb at 34” scale (which your bass is as well) is very near the limit of what that string can handle without snapping.
Most effects work perfectly well on bass, only exception I can think of is maybe older synth style pedals that may have trouble tracking the lower notes

So basically it's a 5 string bass with a 5 string guitar and you pick how low and high you want to play. Nice looking bass.

Noor Alamgir I ran it through a darkglass b7k once but I wasn’t very impressed. 4/10 strings would not djent again.

Crankset does it work with the bass? I've never seen a bass player using a pedalboard
