I’m playing this mod 3 years after you uploaded this and I am finding a lot of enjoyment with your vids and the game. Thanks for uploading and creating these!
I love the tone of these videos. At first I was off-put by the whispering, but it is awesome for where I work. I can turn it up and still hear, without disturbing my coworkers. Your advice is top notch too - keep up the good work Jack!
Yes! Just finished your "East Wind" series. Well done. My Antistasi mission allows getting vic Undercover restored by using the "Heal and Rearm" function of the light colored box at base. And congrats on the 2500!
I just finished watching your first Antistasi series, and what do I find? A second one to continue, now that's juust great. You got yourself a sub mate.
Just started playing antistasi with my friends and I can't get enough of it. Thanks for the quality videos, I'm gonna binge them while working from home.
I went off arma for quite a bit (5-6month nearly) I haven’t watched your channel since. Now for whatever reason I got the arma bug again (it’s this game and rimworld I watch it for a month and not watch it again for a while) I rewatched your vindicta play through and seen you uploaded this gem and yet again like your overthrow and old antisasi series I’m loving it well done mate congrats on the subs jack mate (keep the RTS styled arma mods up) big love
Congrats on the 2500! Also good luck... the more experience you have with this mission the more you realize how inconceivably broken it is. I guess the best I can realistically wish you is for your headaches to be minor. In my experience it's good to have a bottle of Advil on your desk while playing this mission file.
You do indeed get a bit of a 6th sense for things broken in this mission after you play it a while. My last playthrough took over 150 hours and it got to the point I could tell what would cause the mission to break before I'd even tried it haha
Hopefully I won't! That was the whole idea behind going for the towns anyway, there won't be any outrageous attacks to try and counter, QRFs to towns are small enough to be manageable without needing a tank or fast travel, aggression should be much more manageable etc.
I guess I'm a returning regular. I loved your earlier Arma series lol. I watched a bit of your Halo playthroughs but I also played on my own so it wasn't nearly as fascinating to me. I want to watch your STALKER playthrough as well, I'll probably end up bingeing it. Either way, I saw this pop up in my notification feed and just had to watch it lol
@@JackArden I'm honestly happy you do :D I've just finished my college classes a couple weeks ago an immediately got to work so I've not had as much time as I'd like to watch :P
Let the buggy dumpster fire commence! lol Some friends and I just finished Antistasi; the community edition(?) version was pretty solid, just slightly different in some odd ways. Also, the "LAMBS Danger FSM" and "LAMBS Suppression" mods go quite well with it, they work nicely with Antistasi's built-in VCOM AI scripts... Helps make AI act more like people and less like bootleg T-1000s lol
Theres a antistasi version of Ace that disables all of the medical stuff and theres addon for that that lets you take all the loot of dead bodies straight into a vehicle if you plan for getting more aggressive in the future
The only ACE feature I'd be interested in would be magazine repacking, which isn't so important once I get an unlimited supply of ammo. As for the looting, I'd rather pick and choose what I take, there's no use clogging up an inventory with things I've already unlocked an unlimited supply of
Congratulations on 2,500, well earned! Also, I never thought of stealing supplies as an exploit. It's been done before, in Vietnam for instance where VC supporters would get on base jobs for the U.S. and South Vietnam and steal supplies. So dressing up as a civilian worker moving supplies to take it is very realistic.
Thank you! It's not so much stealing that's the exploit- for example if you infiltrated the base properly, got a job there and took the gear from under their noses that'd be fair enough. It's more that I just rolled up in full view of everyone without any reason to be there, and took the entire base's supply of weapons and ammo without being challenged by anyone.
I can understand that, the theft thing is just how I justify the exploit in my own games. That would be an interesting mechanic to be able to get a job or use manpower to recruit infiltrators though, but I doubt that could be done in Arma.
From what I've noticed, using the heal/repair option on the metal box at base will also serve to change the plates on any vehicle nearby, resetting their reported status, as well has erasing your wanted status. I know this is the first of a longer series of videos, but in case you haven't figured that out in some later video, or for those also just starting the series new to Antistasi.
If it's been fixed since my last series on this mission then fair enough, though whenever I tried to do this it's never actually worked that way. I'd have to garage a vehicle to reset it and change my clothes to become undercover again. I've finished working through the backlog of footage I'd prepared for going back to work so I'll be able to use it from the next videos going forward.
@@JackArden Might give it a try some time. Then again, I've also been playing the community update version recently, so it may well have been an addition in that version that the original doesn't have. Can't remember exactly.
I remember that never actually working from my previous playthrough, though the bug I had with going undercover meant that I wouldn't be able to use either method anyway
Pilgrimage was definitely a change of pace from the CTI-type missions, but I enjoyed it a ton. It's well put together and the dev even stopped by the comments regularly to leave hints and answer people's questions
Any chance you can turn down the volume of your voice just a bit? Your almost whisper works perfectly while watching but seems like it is turned up to make up for it. You are extremely easy to understand but I have trouble hearing the actual game when at a comfortable volume. Great gameplay as usual!
Auntie stassi is good but I think vindicate is better. Because of how you interact with civilians and stuff. I also like the ability to tag towns and whatnot
The problem with Vindicta is that while yes, they have a lot of extra features to use in the early game, once you get a foothold none of those matter anymore. The mission is too easy to beat. That makes it better for solo/beginner play but that's about it.
Can you provide a link to the specific mission .pbo, or Steam workshop? Curious which flavor/variant/exact version this is. I'm playing the community 2.2.1 version on a dedicated server as single player privately. Can't say the bugs in it are obvious. That team seems to have worked out many of them and are working on other improvements.
It's Barbolani's 1.3.5 version, the one which was essentially a direct port of warlords of the pacific- steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=378941393
I'd love your Antistasi videos and them full. But I have a dumb question: Are you able to see the USMC Carrier (marked on map) and if so, is it possible to attack it? Just wanna know because it would great to see the mayhem that (might) happen or what the outcome is. It is not like they put a random marker on the map and said "Done!" and don't work anything on it. Maybe trying it out please? Nobody, who played Antistasi (Single- or Multiplayer) tried it out!
Yes, unfortunately neither of the carriers you can have marked in this mission exist. You're correct on aircraft spawning there sometimes, if there are no airfields the faction can use to launch their territory recapture attacks from, they'll use the carrier instead. Setting up some AA on the areas of the island where you will know the enemy will pass over makes attacks much easier to manage.
@@JackArden atleast you can put AA to harass them. But still sad that you can't attack one of them and loot the crap out of them. I wouldn't even bother if it was protected like the White House but if I would get massive and decent gear and weapons I would find it worth it (from my view and them of Multiplayer Gamers).
Imagine the shenanigans you could pull with a sub, some NVGs and scuba gear. Having a ton of high-tier gear on a carrier would make for one amazing objective
Do you mean when I transfer the inventory of a vehicle or container into the arsenal box? It's a script built into the mission which you use by scrolling on the arsenal box and selecting the option titled something along the lines of "transfer nearest". It's been a while so I don't remember the exact name of it.
Scenarios, this lets me use time manipulation ( on the + and - keys) to speed up and slow down time for when I take long drives or for while I'm sat through what would have been a 1-2 minute revive.
Great vid, how can I save my game I’m really confused because I have to keep starting over again. Would love a video on it or to be referred to a video, thanks
11:34 Normal save in menu doesn't work reliably for Antistasi. You have to use the Persistent Save button in the HQ options of the AS Logo-board object. (scrollwheel on it) There should be mission parameter options for automatic save , and automatic reload of progress at mission start. But you can only change them at the very beginning.
It's extremely unlikely. I've played way too much of this game and Antistasi specifically so I just get burned out on it immediately whenever I try to play again. If there's no missions that are both new and different enough from something else I've already played, it's unlikely I'll touch ArmA as a series again until A4 is released.
I know I'm late but why play on an older and more buggy version? There were more updated versions you could've selected. There are also 3 different antstasi missions. One from barbolani, another from golias and another from the official community. Also what version are you playing? Anyways, thanks for the content! Might not watch the entire series but maybe I will who knows.
I'm playing on Barbolani's 1.5.1 version. The whole purpose of this second series was to test the mission I had already played with an opposite playstyle. In the other series I just blew everything up and took everything over, in this one I spent a very long time working on civilian support instead. I don't feel like this isn't a buggier version, either. At the time of starting the mission, my last experience with the community version of Antistasi was far less stable than this one and Golias' simply didn't work properly at all. The only real issues I had with this version were civilian support not being awarded once in war level 10 when doing missions taken from the base and battles for major towns would instantly resolve without a garrison present- meaning my involvement wasn't counted.
I tried the most recently updated version of the file I could find at one point but it was horribly laggy so I couldn't make a series on it. I can only assume it was an issue with the autosave system since it was freezing every 20-30 seconds.
Which antistasi are you playing? There is a community version which should be more bug free. Also there is a more single player friendly version for a smoother, and more perhaps more enjoyable solo experience (when it’s working as intended) steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1833177426&searchtext=Antistasi+ .
I figured I'd use the same version as last time (1.3.5), only with a vastly different approach to see just how different the playthrough would turn out. When it gets to the point I can't progress without grinding outpost fights, I'm planning on switching to a single-player friendly file.
