Early October, Autumn in Vermont and New Hampshire. Drive through rural areas with barns, covered wooden bridges, and the entire mountains sparkling in red, orange, yellow and gold.
That sandwich shop looked amazing. The chains never measure up to a real Italian deli. My favorite is a meatball sandwich with marinara sauce and mozzarella on garlic bread.
I'm jealous. I watch a lot of food television and that shop has been reviewed by a lot of foodies. I missed it last time in NY.
I've lived in NY for 30 yrs & never heard of this place, but then again, I've never lived in Brooklyn.
That place looked totally legit. From the kids hustling making sandwiches to the picnic tables outside for that scenic NYC dining ...right by the dumpster...you know that was a great sandwich.
Absolutely right. You know what convinced me? Cops were also in and out buying sandwiches
Dammmm that does look tasty !! A large would cover lunch and supper both for me. 😋
Glad you like it Shaun🎉
Something I really like about your food videos Shaun, is you come to the U.S. and try REAL food. It seems like most Brits, Aussies and Kiwis go for fast food chains.
NY Sandwiches are out of this world.
Wow, looks good. I have never actually been to NYC. Been all over "Upstate New York" on a road trip once in the Navy, but we drove around NYC. I definitely want to spend time in NYC. This sandwich shop actually has its own wikipedia page! 😲
Was in the UK a couple weeks ago and had a Ploughman's Sandwich in Wales. A huge, very tasty sandwich and an introduction to Branston Pickle. It's not easy to find a really good sandwich like you did. Cheers!
They're delicious! I wish that they would bring goat cheese and onion crisps over here.
In the city of Philadelphia in the surrounding suburbs you can find fantastic sandwiches. I have absolutely no problem finding great sandwiches in the United States
Always great videos Shaun!
Glad you like them!
Y'all need to go to Katz's Deli for a proper deli sandwich!!! 🤤🤤🤤

Katzes deli has the giant pastrami sandwhich
It must have been great to be in NY without experiencing 90% humidity and 100° temperatures. Believe or not, this has been a kind of disappointing fall (East coast) as far as foliage. We’ve had better.
negative nelly. NY summers aren't that hot. I'm from LI, moved to TX for a decade and back to NY. Perspective is everything.
@@DoTheHuman I think tejida was referencing his videos from Charleston, SC, in regards to the heat/humidity...
@@DoTheHuman I’m sorry you took my post as negative.
You folks need to visit NJ for pizza and sandwiches. Take a day trip to Denville NJ and try out Sergio's. Amazing sandwiches and a great guy.
the bread is a huge part of it
I did see a bird rhere on the ground hopeing you would drop some
Those sandwiches look huge at first glance, and cut in half they give the impression that you can save the other half for later. You can't.
You need to go to Katz broadway deli. their sandwitches are 10'thick and you get massive sides of homemade pickles and cole slaw.

Great video. I guess you'll have to fly over the Atlantic whenever the urge for a NY sandwich comes along... or invest in a Star Trek transporter for a quick pop back and forth. 😁
If you’re still in Brooklyn I recommend the following two deli options: (italian) “Anthony & Son Panini Shoppe” at 433 Graham Avenue, as well as (Jewish) “Gottlieb’s Restaurant” at 352 Roebling Street. Both are very unique, old-school New York delicatessens with their own individual flare. Both are located in Williamsburg, Brooklyn (north of Redhook… accessible via the G-train up to Metropolitan Ave stop)
You gotta go check out Boston, Portsmouth (New Hampshire) and Portland (Maine)!!
Have to find a real authentic NYC Jewish deli . Best sandwiches I’ve ever had and I’m scotch/Irish and from California…
I think a great sandwich starts with the bread. Now I'm hungry!
12 inch any kind. Man sized.
You sound like a size queen
Rico's Pizzeria in Walpole, MA has what they call a BJ Wrap. Here is description from their menu: Chicken Finger, Rebel Sauce In It, Side Greek, Mozzarella Cheese, Fries and Bacon all toasted in a panini press.
cant hold a candle to ny food best in the world
you gotta try a buffalo ranch chicken pizza it’s amazingggg
NYC does know it's sandwich shops. They are pricey. But you can find some places not too bad.
Philadelphia sandwich shops are just as good
You have to walk into about any corner bodega and order one! Not that pricey (out of tourist areas *cough* midtown Manhattan) I love a good chopped cheese mmm 😋
Shaun, if you ever make it down to Tennessee, DEFINITELY try some BBQ, we are known for it!
It's funny you mention BBQ, as Shaun is in Brooklyn (or was) he could have went to Homestead (I think it's named Homestead) BBQ which is one of the best rising BBQ joints around the country and is full on Texas and Southern style BBQ. It's SO good too.
The only difference between me and you is I'd leave off the meat! Veggie sandwiches have become my obsession as of late
Now that's a sandwich!
Never heard of the place.
You need to go to permantes in Pittsburgh
Lol, I love how that's supposed to be a "huge" American sandwich.
It's the bread that makes a sandwich
There is a Canadian restaurant in Edinburgh. Did you try it?
Shaun, it seems like you really love the United States. If you HAD to pick a place to live here part of the year which area really speaks to you? I'm genuinely curious. And I wonder where Teka would pick. Thanks for another great video. Edit: Oops, I spelled your name Sean. Sorry!
For both me and Teka the answer is both the same. NYC 100%. No question. My second choice would be Miami.
NYC would happily welcome you & Teka! You will definitely not run out of food places to enjoy!! Signed, a Brooklynite❤
@@shaunvlog That's a great choice. I am a little surprised though. If I would have had to guess, I would have said Washington State because it's so green and beautiful there. Maybe soon you and Teka will be citizens of New York and the UK. I'm with you on Miami. I love it there but settled on South Texas because the climate is the same but it's not as expensive.
Usually you just go to the corner deli and ask for a chopped cheese. There is a place called Aki’s somewhere in NYC. You need a specific lingo to order. Actionkid and John Barr went before and you really do need the lingo. It’s a neighborhood deli that cooks to order. Some Mexican corner stores will feed you if you play your cards right but you never know what you’re gonna get as it’s something you’ll never normally find on any menu. They are more recipes that are handed down from grandma or even before that. You might get stewed rabbit, edible cactus, stews, or soft tacos, honestly you really don’t know. It’s still really good though.
It’s so huge you can barely wrap your mouth around it!
Americans are always weirded out when Europeans refer to the vegetables on a sandwich as "salad". What makes it "salad" is that it is served by itself -- not in a pie, not on a sandwich, not part of some other dish.
Autumn and/or Fall is much better further up in the New England area or Virginia or Tennessee. We were in the Smokey Mountains a couple of weeks ago. The Smokeys will put NYC to shame for Fall colors.
Wow that's New York! You're eating next to two open dumpsters and a $130,000 Mercedes S560. That city has everything nasty and everything fine.
Every city has nasty and fine
Both of those sandwiches look absolutely delicious, so much better than a wrap or a burrito. Thank you so much for eating a real American sandwich!! ❤🇺🇸🙏🏻
Shame you only ate a dinky sandwich like that I mean winner all kinds of sandwich shops all over New York City and you only had a dinky winky sandwich. It’s the world coming to you think
dinky? i could only eat half of it.
That’s why I eat only half of the sandwich sometimes and save the rest for later. 😀
It was big enough
I know you Shaun and I know laurance very well 🤔 I believe laurance is secretly gay and you Shaun is secretly something bad I think 🤔
Seek help.
@@shaunvlogIs he trying to out you as a Tory, Shaun? Lol
@@adamzinho.1 hahahaha that would be something bad right enough 😅
You're only seeing thy big cities. Most of America, geographically, is more rural and small cities and communities. You're missing the best parts of America.
Nope - I’ve been around a bit. Sorry but I prefer cities. Especially NYC.
PLEASE get out of the cities and journey back into THE REAL AMERICA, Shaun. Come back to Amish country here in south-central Pennsylvania.....our cuisine blows away anything from NYC (except for the pizza) out of the water....!!! SERIOUSLY
Sorry but NYC is one of my favourite places not only in America, but the world. That’s why I’ll always go back there
It's all REAL America, @DrVonChilla.
That's good to hear, Shaun. I just wish you'd eat something besides junk food and sandwiches. But it did look good and fresh. 😀@@shaunvlog
@@jaxxon98 I do but I tend not to film it, because it’s boring. People want to see the common things they eat all the time
We love you here in NY too Shaun and Teka!! ❤😊❤
There’s a lot better sandwiches around the country than deli meats
good lord why are you in red hook ?? not the greatest place to stay
