    It looks...fine. I would try it out, but even for $40 I'm not sure I want to take that shot.

    Helldivers 2 set the bar for what a successful, new Playstation GAAS game can be. It's gotta be a tough act to follow.

    You guys are off about damage balancing. The only heros that seem off are the sbiper and the rocket chick. The ssme thing happened in verestch where everything felt it was unbalanced till they understood roles.

    Once you’ve reached Lvl. 6, you get the option to build your crew and there is a window that pops up and tells you what each class does before you start building a loudout.
    Alternatively, you can click on *the really big, impossible to miss HOW TO PLAY tab in the main menu which also tells you what the classes are and what they’re built to do.* So, it is there, you just have to, you know, press a button.
    Also, seeing a lot of people saying “I can’t tell what this character does by looking at them. Wish they weren’t unique to this game and more like this other game,” while also complaining it’s not unique enough. What do you want? One or the other?
    And the $40 price tag is to curtail abusive players. That’s it, and that’s a good enough reason, imo.

      Because Halo and Call of Duty don't historically have "abusive players." 😂

      @@stuckintheinbetween - No, they just historically avoided banning paying customers from the IP they purchased $70 for. PlayStation will, so players who are banned for abusive behaviour are less likely to create a new account and purchase the game again.

    It's funny that people online are readily willing to shit all over the current state of Overwatch, but Concord looks like a decent reminder that it turns out - making a hero shooter that hooks an audience in with interesting visual language that immediately informs a character's design and gameplay might be harder than it looks.

    the number of people confusing "bad balancing" with "I don't understand buffs/debuffs/passives" about Concord is incredible. Sadly its in a spiral of "who will dunk more on it". Btw the game doesnt "feel bad" on ps5, its just a slow pace like an OW (with the exception of a few dps characters)

      I'd argue that that's a failure of the game and not the players if that's not communicated well.

      @@StillChewy it tells you what all the abilities do. Like every game the more you play it the more you understand it. We also just got done praising Elden ring for not telling us shit for the second time.

    I kind of expected to learn something about this game after watching them play for an hour. Instead they just spent that time dunking on the game. I understand technical problems; it's a beta and the problems across platforms could be ironed out. I'm not really feeling their analysis after watching them play. I guess it's multifaceted problem where the game is in beta, these are their first impressions, performance issues are going to stand out, but little else *about* the game is being discussed. Not knowing what a character can do, what abilities and weapons do or how they behave or how movement works from character to character from jumping to dodging etc are all things you could just learn from... playing the game. This discussion would benefit greatly from them having spent more time with the game. I don't know. Also, why are we forgetting that OW was $40 at launch? What is this? What is happening? This just feels like a collection of first takes and knee-jerk reactions and zero reflection. It is so frustrating to listen to. Maybe they should take a note out of Dan's playbook and not cover games that don't interest them.
    I want to point to an example of what I'm saying so maybe I don't come off sounding crazy or overly critical. At 31 minutes, Shawn brings up player expectation and how these games need to have some inherent familiarity to the playerbase Firewalk Studios wishes to cultivate. There are abilities in this game that are directly inspired from other games. The green-gunslinger has a dodge reload and trip-mine grenade. Both are abilities from destiny. Other characters have a Reinhart shield, or floats like a warlock from destiny and the big trashcan character has a vacuum that sucks up projectiles. Another character can see through walls like Widowmaker.

      You can't call something a Beta when it releases in just over a month. It's a Marketing Beta nothing more. A true Beta is there for testing when a game is still a year away.

    It's bad, and the game is gonna flop and the studio is gone next year. Unfortunate reality but it is what it is.

      Getting some real Suicide Squad vibes from this game's vocal minority of support. They're very small but very loud and defensive. Thoughts & prayers, guys, cause this game's gonna need 'em. 😂

      @@lionzcrown1702 I mean, to be fair, Sony historically closes down studios. The Motorstorm dev? Closed. The Wipeout dev? Closed. Their Japan Studio known for interesting Japanese games like Ape Escape, Puppeteer, Rain, Gravity Rush, etc.? Closed.
