    Thanks Christine for featuring another app. Compared to e.g. Flowkey, the songs I could find on the Skoove's youtube site were much fewer and posted almost entirely more than 6 months old (ie no addition for the last half year!). Do you find the same on the app?

    Hi
    I'm looking for an app that is "suitable" for accoustic piano's and as for what i've been reading, they lack some understanding of getting the right notes that are being played. Do you recomend any app?
    I'm a 46 years old with almost no knowledge of piano...yeah...quite old to learn but eager to learn.
    I'm taking some personal lessons from a teacher but at a rate of 1 per week my improvement is quite slow.
    I would like to add some other options to my piano education at home. I was keen on Skoove or flowkey...

    Hi Christine, thank you for the video. At minute 4:29 you were puzzled that the program asked permission to enable the microphone, although you previously selected MIDI input. Please note that this is a bug, or rather a design glitch, acknowledged by Skoove, that affects at least the Piano Beginner 1 lessons. This makes practicing with headphones in the middle of the night impossible. I reported this to support, and they promised to investigate, but, due to some complicated technical reasons, I would not expect this to happen very soon. Regards, Liviu.

    • @Skoove
      @Skoove 4 роки тому

      Hello Liviu,
      The course "Piano Beginner 1" on the app does not allow MIDI/USB/Bluetooth support, yet. You can play the lessons via acoustic piano/keyboard. It's definitely not a bug - it just means, 14 lessons out of more than 400 lessons are being detected in a different way. Rest assured that all the other courses on the app allow MIDI/USB/Bluetooth connection (and thus, the use of headphones). Please contact us via info@skoove.com use the messenger on our website/app if you need any assistance.

    Skoove wants me to give them a credit card before even showing a single thing to me to spur my interest. It's a very poor way to do it I think. At least they should do what you are doing to show how it works. Thanks for making the video. The sound from your tablet was inaudible without turning my sound up all the way but I get the idea.
    I've tried a bunch of piano training programs. The best one by a wide margin was Playground Sessions (in my humble opinion). All the others just trot out the exact same list of royalty free stuff like Imagine and Claire de Lune and Clocks. ick. Playground Sessions has a heck of a lot more current songs than the others do.

    WHAT !!.. Wow you are hoping to attract people to your UA-cam and you openly declare you don't think John Lennon is very good. You may be able to play the piano well but you have zero business sense or as we would say in the UK "you have just put you foot in your mouth" and I suggest you look up about Gerald Ratner who when asked how was it possible for his company to be selling a sherry decanter for the amazing price of £4.95, he answered, to the amazement of his audience and his shareholders, the following: “How can you sell this for such a low price?” I say, “because it’s total crap.”
    Are you aware that not just musically and lyrics but for influencing, creating and changing the world by Beatles music (ie the youth movement), John with the other three are considered with out doubt the best musician in the 21st Century and easily on par with Beethoven and Mozart.
    I have only watched 3 mins of stuff, and you have me in hysterics I wonder what else I will come across next.

    • @RasPhi-ed3gp
      @RasPhi-ed3gp 2 місяці тому

      I agree that the Beatles were one of the most innovative groups in music ever. I also do not like Imagine….imagine that these two beliefs can exist simultaneously.

    • @wakeupuk3860
      @wakeupuk3860 2 місяці тому

      @@RasPhi-ed3gp Regarding Imagine, I now much older and certainly no longer retain my very naive and totally unrealities 'hippy' Utopian thinking I strongly had back then, also John Lennon on hearing of his death while driving on a motorway had to pull over due to crying, I have never done that for any other musician and I doubt I very much will. I cried not so much for John but the memories, the friends and places of my youth which the Beatles' music played such an important part of my life.
      Now and following John's treatment of the women he knew and his sons, his very rude, arrogant, incredibly selfish and know it all character I doubt very much I would have got on with him.
      I also now regard the lyrics of Imagine, complete childish and unrealistic crap :-
      Imagine there's no countries
      It isn't hard to do
      Nothing to kill or die for
      And no religion, too
      Imagine all the people
      Living life in peace
      It is such thinking which very much has led to chaos in the world now, because instead of ACCEPTING our true natures, respecting those differences of each other, not wishing to enforce our instinctive and very much varying beliefs, i.e. religion as with the Muslim faith - this world is in far grater turmoil than ever.
      EVEN So, none of this in any way can take away the sheer genius of the Beatles in that all four of them, in regard to the music they brought together in such a short period of time, changed the world and unlike true non-entities such as Taylor Swift and still be listened to for centuries to come. Yesterday, I found out the 11-year-old son of my neighbour had come across Sgt Pepper's and could not just stop playing it, he has just been around (first time) to ask me what should he listen to next. I have the complete catalogue on file and he eyes lit up when I gave him a USB with all 213 songs on.
      I still come back to the point that anyone choosing to teach the piano and music is MISSING so much for their students (which I say as an ex teacher from industry) if they declare they don't think John Lennon is not very good. In my world of Maths, it is like saying Newton knew nothing about gravity!
