Gretchen is an excellent musician and inspires me to grow as a guitarist. So refreshing to hear her talk about the benefits in communicating with other musicians and sharing tips. We need more of that!

Beauty, intelligence AND extremely talented! SO enjoy listening to you talk about music, especially Led Zeppelin's music. It's one thing to play their music but to understand it and how intricate the arrangements are...Page is a genius and you deliver his work flawlessly! Would love to see you guys come and play in Hawai'i!! I'll start inquiries here to some of the promoters! Keep rockin' & rollin'! BTW - Hale Souls is an OUTSTANDING album! Much Aloha!

Having seen Gretchen play live a couple of times and being amazed at her talent and skill, she's a little reserved live. She smiles and just seems focused but it's hard to get a read on her as a person. After watching this she just seems like a really nice and down to earth person. Got tics for the Oct show in long beach, cant wait, although it's a bit of a bummer Angeline wont be there. I'm sure the new bass player will do great.

Saw your show at Trees in Dallas Friday. Absolutely blew me away! I especially liked the dueling guitars and when you got down on the floor and made music sounds I have never heard before. Thanks for lifting our spirits!

Gretchen, your humility is so very attractive & I believe it draws aspiring musicians to you, not only to want to hear you play, but to watch your interviews & teaching to learn from your experiences, both positive & negative. I wish you much success in your pursuit & growth of your gifts!
When are you coming to the Seattle area? 🙂

Strategies for improvising; tricks, "gimmicks", patterns with a "hole" or doorway out, leading to the _breakage_ to something new; and leading to more evolved patterns = Dickie Betts & U. Srinivas - SO friggin' GORGEOUS you don't even start identfying the scheme or blueprint til the 4th time, maybe.. yes. Maybe. Or - like, a very common one -the initial pattern goes transparent but it's still with you, YOU can call it back. And, or etc. -Borrow the rhythmic scheme from your favorite nursery rhyme, but cram a double harmonic scale into those note time values. "Borrow" the up/down _contour_ of a melody, change the notes. But talk's cheap: Some time back I found a guitar solo in which the player uses an OVERWHELMING assortment. Quite seriously he just KNOWS MORE of these than anyone else I ever heard, yes Coltrane, yes Shankar. (He had the advantage of copping their schema too.) The 1999 to 2000 Remember Shakti was a lean quartet, no singer, no extraneous fluf, just John Mc Laughlin and U. Srinivas _very_ politely trying to slaughter each other. McLaughlin's played the Berklee Music school quite frequently, clearly he likes slaughtering babies too. (You can actually HEAR some of them dying)
All the Yak just to FORCE you to listen to the greatest guitar solo in the history of... fingers? Minds? The Mothership beaming down all the notes all the time in waves of particles? Surf's Up. Moondoggy!

There is not a guitar player who's not totally booferized by THAT SOLO. This concert MAY fuck you up...

Zepparella is my favorite band since the internet. I love to watch you all work, but I am especially a fan of Clementine. I really appreciate the drums, the anchor. I can't do it, at least not at all consistently. I love to watch her banging out the perfect timing like its no effort, just fun, head down, hair everywhere just like Cousin It.
My favorite drummer is Mitch Mitchell, the father of fusion drumming, only drummer who could keep up with Jimi. Both my heroes of improv rock. Their jams are all more different than Dick's Picks.
I would be categorized as a Houses Of The Holy fan - I love you best when you do Zep just the way Zep did it, and more since the internet because you are all luscious. Zep is Zep. I totally hate crappy remakes of great movies that just flatter the performers' egos. They do no honor to their source. You do.
You have had my interest since I first saw you on yt. I will look for you online. I look forward to seeing you develop in your future projects.

Neil Peart is second to Mitch, but first in his ethics. I love Rush, but I'm not going to pay $700 a ticket to some pimp to see them from the buck seat. I guess that's what I am...

here's the deal I certainly realize that Gretchen is woman as much as I realize that Stephen Stills is a man but when it comes to listening to a guitar player I only hear the good music coming out of those strings I know not and care not if a man is playing it or if a woman is playing it Gretchen is awesome she deserves to be awesome from what I hear and see she has obviously put in countless hours to become an accomplished guitar player kudos to her
