“Even on those days when you’re feeling the most beautiful, not everyone is going to agree. They may never. It requires a certain courage, a certain craziness, to be able to live life without compromise, to step out the door and risk ridicule. When someone calls another individual ugly, all I see is that the one doing the insulting becomes instantly less beautiful. Consider it a compliment to be mocked for being beautiful; energy is never expended on mediocrity.” -- Dita von Teese
She’s the living embodiment of authenticity, sexy intelligence, class, art, elegance, timelessness and womanhood. All in one package. And as Dita said, it’s hard to find all that in one package. Dita is a living legend. An inspiration that anyone can be glamorous. And for that I’ll always love her ❤️
I love that the male host was un-self conscious and direct with his questions and attitude regarding "feminine" interests like beauty, fashion, and lingerie. I've noticed that many males in this situation subtly degrade the subject or low-key distance themselves from the subject with "jokes" or a certain kind of attitude to preserve their male identity. He treated Dita, her career, and her interests as valid and worthy of interest.
I love her so much and this interviewer was wonderful! Insightful questions and he really listened to her answers and participated authentically in the conversation.
I hate it when women say they or other women are "powerful! Can't you be feminine, without posturing about being powerful??? We should talk about being human!
Cannot recommend her book enough!!! It's such an honestly written confidence booster. There's great beauty advice (or rather feeling beautiful advice) and endless old Hollywood trivia and glamorous anecdotes. You can tell a great deal of love, effort and knowledge went into it.
I bought this book yesterday. It is one serious book. Beautifully written with amazing photos. I will be keeping this book on my coffee table for easy reference. Well worth investing in this book. Thank you Dita Von Tesse
This is honestly one of the best interviews with Dita that I've ever seen. The gentleman conducting it asked questions that were intelligent and thoughtful, and he truly paid attention to her responses as well. In so many interviews with Dita, she's asked silly questions, the interviewer isn't listening to her responses, there's too much fangirling going on (which isn't offensive, but does limit the depth of the conversation), or the person either has an agenda, or has an attitude suggesting that they're either jealous of Dita, or threatened by her. This wasn't like that at all, and it was such a relief....as I'm sure it was for Dita as well!
Best Book ever! Not only a Beauty book, but health, exercise, interior design, automobiles, cooking, relationships, couture everything! The most intelligent, creative, fascinating woman of our times. I bought Dita’s book immediately, bought an extra just in case, then I bought all my girlfriends, cousins, colleagues a copy as well. I have been wearing makeup since the age of 3 and, at that age, I was doing my mom’s makeup. Having said that, no one does it better than Dita! I absolutely adore Dita and admire her so much! Fabulous interview! Thank you! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I grew up from West Branch like Dita Von Teese. She has been inspiration especially since the town is very suppressing. After watching videos of her Burlesque shows and interviews, she has helped motivate me to be myself and also sexualize myself with taste. I am so glad I learned who she was when I was a teenager 6 years ago.
Oh I plan to get her book Idk how long ago it was written but I want it to recreate my natural beauty back especially being diagnosed with cancer last March, I've lost my hair twice and my complexion has changed as well I still moisturize and take vitamins and added a few more so still working inside out I want to see if her and I have the same beauty mindset plus I'm going to be 56
I liked her comment about wearing things that make you feel good about yourself. This made me think about how I had comments told to me that if I changed my hair or painted my nails or did eyeliner, lipstick was that i was trying to impress others. But for me doing those things was to make me happy. Because I liked a shade of lipstick or hair color/cut, or I felt like painting my nails because I liked the color or was bored. I don’t change my look for others i do it for myself.
Libras are known for their sense of style, many women have her on a pedestal and want's to be like her, but they don't got her sense of style‼️💎 Libra.
The feminine mystique, means...we don't always have to answer a question honestly, there can be a little mystery, by asking another question back to our partner.
I have the book and love it!! I bought it because I knew she would make the reading fun besides the beautiful photos and of course tips on how to look and feel pretty. She's all class besides being beautiful inside and out!
Saw her on the Art of the Teese tour in Manchester two years ago and she was amazing. Even the rest of her entourage - Ginger Valentine, Zelia Rose and Gia Genevieve - were great.
I love that she''s glamourous without a huge bitchy attitude it's like she is still pure and of course a Gorgous inside and it shows she is herself as she says she is I know from the way she applies herself she won't put up with anything but she is a genuine caring and more than likely a happy joyfully person and has totally created herself entirely with pure love, care and true respect of herself without throwing herself trashy... A beautiful person inside and out
Great interview from this queen ughhh I love her so much she’s such an inspiration about owning what you like and sticking to it! I love also how she is big on creating your own beauty
Lovely gal is Dita :) So great to hear there is another person who hates the use of overshadowing and glossing up faces, or using foundations. Just a little good facial creme and a dab of powder and maybe rouge is all we need.
Use a bit mascara,a thin liner, a little colour on your eyebrows, a bit of blush at your cheekbones, some red lipstick that can be fine if you'll put it on wt a brush‼️💎👍🌹
i find it kind of hypocritical of her that she criticizes the mainstream standards of beauty even though she has breast implants and still follows what was considered ideal in the past. i still respect her intellect and uniqueness, she is a very interesting person.
Even though this woman has got an unquestionable charm, I must admit she's a little disappointing in some of her statements.. when she says that she gains confidence with her lipstick on and the clothes that she likes... well, a really confident person doesn't rely on clothes, not even on a lipstick.. or when she says that she celebrates being a woman every day... well, a woman doesn't need make up to celebrate the woman she is, that's for sure.. or when she says she wanted to be the opposite of who she was born.. this sounds a statement from an insecure character.. maybe she is pretending to be something she is not, I wonder if she's aware of that..
She's not claiming to be this unbreakable stone cold confident human. I think you're holding her to a standard that no human can achieve which really isn't her role to play. We all have something that helps us shield ourselves from the world or helps us be the best person we can be. If that's lipstick or maybe a nice hair cut , a beard, or tweezer eyebrows, then who cares?
@@ptboy18 well, I feel what you say, of course we are just humans, we all have flaws, nobody's perfect, and Dita is the same, from her words I can feel she maybe has been insecure in her past, but that's normal, and it's ok to pursue more strength through some behaviors or attitudes or habits, but I guess the most powerful way to achieve confidence is acceptance. Accepting who we are and respect who we are, on the inside above all. This society says to us we need to change something about ourselves to fit in, or to be more likable... to me, charm is something you have as a gift, and all the makeup in the world cannot change something you have inside
Black is THE most common hair color in the world and she thinks it's "exotic"? Um no. Blonde is uncommon!! It's like me dying my rare red as brown and thinking that's exotic.
@Aladria Leviriaste 90% have black hair. VERY common and not exotic at all. 4-5% are natural blondes and only 1-2% are natural redheads. Yeah. I bothered to look it up.
@Aladria Leviriaste "i´m pretty sure that.." is not based on facts.google it and you´ll find black is the most common.but i agree that dark hair light eyes is more rare than light hair light eyes.

100% see life this way too. If someone is secure in themselves they wouldn't pass any heed on another they'd be too busy living their best life 🦸🏼♀️
As the saying goes: "you can be the juiciest peach in the world, but there'll still be someone who doesn't like peaches." 🍑

It was a great interview indeed!
Her posture is incredible!
"What's the occasion? The occasion is life"! You go girl, that's one great affirmation indeed! 😉
You can tell the interviewer is just smitten with her energy. ✨👑
Best thing about Dita is she likes what she likes and doesn't follow trends.
She said in another interview, that after a breakup she takes on a new hobby to distract herself. So fencing. Cool.
oekmama that’s a great idea she does channels her emotions into something positive
She's gorgeous and truly feminine. Strong without being abrasive.

Is she “famous” in West Branch?
She is more feminine than the majority of the women I've known all my life. She inspires me so much!
I'm so grateful this woman exists

You sound like an amazing woman Patricua, keep going and don’t give up! Someone is watching over you 💕
💖💖💖
After 5 pages, I can already say that this is the best book I've ever read 😘😘
agreed! I’ve been telling everyone about it!
Dita can make the most shallow subject sound deeply intellectual and sincerely felt! This is not irony, it's my take on Dita.
the interviewer was good, I was really impressed actually
This interview makes me want to be more stylish 💗

Até que enfim vamos ter mais contato com a dita e sua família ,e aprender a se comportar melhor perante a mesa de jantar.beijo emiliana.
shes so sweet
At the end when she mentions people not recognizing her when she’s dressed differently it reminds me of marilyn monroe
She reminds me of me❤️
Love her! You!! Sorry really admire you
I love her tho. And she does look like a supermodel
All people are like people, and Dita is a beautiful Snow White!!!😊❤
I always wanted to be more exotic, too. I used to color my hair darker, but I just looked silly.

Shes too good to be true
I wish the interviewer is better. This would've been more interesting without him tbh xD but love Dita!!! She's so classy and gorgeous♥️
Cool!
Dita always look like a old films in my collection
😍😍😍😍
La mujer más atractiva del mundo
I read on her "Wikipedia page" that she's fascinated by "1940s cinema" nd "classic vintage style", BUT is there a "video" where she confirms it?
this one around the 20 minute mark and obviously, you can tell just by looking at her that she's clearly a fan. :)
MissJessicaHarlow thanks 4 answering, nd might u know of other "celebrities" who've a fascination of "past cinemas"?
I would suspect Debi Mazar. She's a big fan of Dita's & Old Hollywood Glam.
MissJessicaHarlow she looks a lot like "Marion Cotillard".
Check out Dita von Teese on Luxury and self seduction. Also there is a video of her trying out clothes from Gypsy Rose.
I love her laugh
💎💎💎💙💙💙
My god I absolutely love her. If I met her I'd just bow down and kiss her feet. then I'd just lie down and die happy.
You are so beautiful, Dita‼️I have your Burlesque/Fetish book, interesting and aestetic the way you do it‼️💎 From a Libra to another. ▪️▪️🔺
Dita is art🤍
Human art! You're so right! I've adored her for years! She never ages.
I would like to hear her insight on friendship with both men and women.
I want to dedicate this to you please do enjoy?Much Love.

I wouldn't of called her skinny tbh, no offense to the commenter but skinny is a really poor choice of word for Dita..
😍🥰❤️👸🏻
Dita says she wasn't much to look at? She's very beautiful.
she reminds me to andie mcdowell
This interview would of been more exciting if the interviewer wasn't there
Some had to do it‼️
I, m in love with Marilyn Manson, I, m woman
Dita sure grew up to be a lady!
Could he not have brought up the ex-husband? She shouldn't be treated as beholden to his opinion.
Interesting choice of words. ‘We are all wearing drag’ 🤔
She how is dressing and how he
Hmm a biopic a Dita movie should be. 👍🏳️🌈👌🏾🦹🏾♂️🧕🏿
Memo: dont est things from packages
Dita has a Lord Farquaad-esque to her, but just way hotter
lmfao
Can't unsee it
@@burnbrightlittlestar lol Im a jerk for saying it but i couldn’t keep it to myself either
I think it’s because of ur association with medium short black hair and farquad
