I didn't know just where to comment but I just have to say how proud we r of u being the winner of season 11 of alone..I live in Grand Falls Windsor NL and never missed any of your shows of alone..Myself and my wife never missed any shows so proud..
Good show. Use the big egg shell as a scooper next time to get the small pieces. The small pieces won’t run from the shell like they do your fingers. Nice salmon, our season is getting ready to take off pretty quick. Good to see a lad out with Dad learning and doing. Thanks for having a nice clean channel that I can watch with the grandkids.
Good day William, happy Canada day, great fishing trip, awesome video and footage of a great country as always, enjoyed the watch, thanks, thumbs up and greetings from old friends in NZ, Tony.
Another great Video and Adventure William❤ Young William sure is growing up fast. By the way my son and get together every Thursday night and watch Alone. Its always a night we look forward to. ❤ Take care Steve Morin Maine
Another great video William, Great you are spending time with your son. When I was your age me and my son would do a lot of things together, catch salmon like you and your son before the moratorium here on the Island. Your videos make me go back to my youth. Keep them coming.
Loved the video. First time seeing salmon being caught in the net. Great to watch. Mussels looked good. Thanks for sharing this video it was excellent to watch.
Looks like you and your young fella had a great trip to Williams Harbour fishing and getting some fresh eggs and some tangy rhubarb great seeing the old homes and where your relative lived we are really spoiled the way we live today
Loved the video! Great landscape and outdoorlife. Your son have good memories to share some day. All the best to You and your family from Northern Finland 🇫🇮🇨🇦
I'm going to tell you something William I love you on alone to me you just turned into celebrity and I really like what you do and how you do your life I like how you fish for the brook trout I like how you run your boat and especially more than anything I love your meals you should write a cookbook I'm serious all I'm saying is I have been watching you for a while and I am a subscriber so I can get your videos when you download them I'm a big fan thank you
Well, I just want to say it was so cool to see you on the TV series alone. It was so cool. I was telling my friends all about you I follow you on UA-cam and all that and they were like shocked. They're like that is so cool. So anyway, I do like your UA-cam channel and it's I'm following you on the alone right now. It's hard to recognize you without a beard, but it is so cool.Thank you
For a long video it sure passed quickly. Loved the history and the "lessons" that you were showing young Will. Seeing him on the rock ledges by the salmon net gave me the jitters. I liked the watch your feet around the ten minute mark. Ditto with the fingers when docking. It all seems simple but things can go to heck in a hurry. What nutrient is put into the garden fom the mussel shells? Calcium/lime? Thanks for the video.
Yes something you can actually scoop them up already crushed, which we call gris. Good for a few years, some I don’t crush and put around trees like mulch. I use other types of shells for thus as well.
@@ottoosmers9273 No but quiet a few years back they introduced them in a Bay just to the North of us. The lobsters grew very large but the water temp was to cold for the eggs to survive. As water temps warm up maybe they will slowly migrate further North, there is a different crab species that has already done so.

Very nice video William 🙂
I haven’t seen a salmon hit the net like that since I was drift fishing for mackerel in the Bay of Chaleur in 1992!
Thanks for the quills!!
I’m sure they will be put to good use :)

Hello brother! I'm still on the fence about the air drying. I an here to learn more. I don't want to do it wrong......
You have to be neighbors with some of my family. 😊
I don’t dry very long but drying they will take the smoke better.
Good to see you again William.
Not fishing crab this time of year?
No all the crab in, had all our shrimp in as well but we just got a little bump on quota, back out to sea Friday..
Hi William,
Do you crush the mussel shells or just put them in the soil? How long does it take for them to break down?
Yes something you can actually scoop them up already crushed, which we call gris. Good for a few years, some I don’t crush and put around trees like mulch. I use other types of shells for thus as well.
You are a lucky man get to catch the salmon lol mouth is watering here . What are u doing with the shells never seen that use be for ?
We are allowed 6, hardly enough but can’t complain. Those shells are a good source of lime and calcium.
@@Biglandtrapper Do u put them on your potato garden
What part of the blackberry bush do you use to smoke. How long do you smoke it for?
I take the whole sod, place upside down on small fire. I showed this is a older video over to Adlavik one time.
William what was worse, the hunger or the thoughts of family?
Holy cow yer lookin like yer in good shape lad! Not starvation shape tho...
Hallo William, what purpose is musselshells do in garden, lime?
That’s right lime & calcium as well.
Them Atlantic Salmon??
@@joebishop9063 yes that’s right.

@Biglandtrapper vary interesting I'm in southern massachusets and are lobstering has been on a decline. We get to 75° water. Great videos.
